this is the first time I've used it. May I say I hate google!!! lol But everyone in the reo lounge is trying to do group video chat. Jup that would be fun to do here. Not sure how ya do it. I haven't even been able to figure out how to find folks yet. Haven't done a video chat yet, just a typed IM kind of thing. Skype seems easier to figure out, but I don't know if you can do several folks at once or not.

do they last a long time? The last GE light bulbs we got at walmart, don't last very long.
They say the used 4 hours a day the good ones will last 20 years, most are guaranteed that long, I call that a never change, just dust lightbulb.

Sent while sitting on my busted ..... Stay off the ice if you can't skate. I can't and didn't.

some of our lights are on nearly 24/7 Usually someone is up round the clock. It's rare that we're all asleep at the same time. But seems like these will last much longer and maybe save on electricity.

Kenna, If you don't mind me asking? You talking about arthritis right? Rheumatoid or osteo? I have the osteo kind. That's what is eating up knees, hips and the wrist/thumb joint of my left hand. Little in the fingers and feet but not too bad. Just bad in those when it's cold and damp. Doc put me on the Prednisone 5,5,4,4,3,3,2,2,1,1 deal the other day, I'm just moving in to the three portion tomorrow. Gotta tel you I love the stuff. Makes my joints a lot better. Too bad it's awful for me. Make me hungry and a tad bit touchy too.. [emoji35]

Sent while sitting on my busted ..... Stay off the ice if you can't skate. I can't and didn't.

I have Rhuematoid Arthritis in every large joint in my body. I have some other arthritiss in my lower back & neck from a fall about 30 years ago. I take Celebrex 2x a day & it works on both. You might ask your Dr about it. I love my Celebrex. It's great, especially on the pain that just hurts for no apparent reason. just sitting & hurting. I take other things for the RA but Celebrex is part of the cocktail. I only take steroids when the other things aren't quite doing the job. I was on them for maybe 10 years everyday. I was able to get off of them when I started on Rituxan. But when I couldn't get Rituxan I'd end up getting dose packs of steroids & found I have a really strong behavioral reaction to them that just gets worse as time goes on. Injections work better, longer, & I don't turn into a monster as badly. I get a huge steriod push in the IV when I get infusions so I have to just stay away from people for 4-5 days till I can control my behavior. I go thru the thinking I need something to eat 24/7, too. Having something I can nibble keeps me from eating 7 full meals a day as long as I don't let myself have 3-4 bags of popcorn a day. GI issues hate me when I do that. vaping has helped greatly with that, too, I can just vape thru the urge.

Way back when I was just a newbie to these affiliated threads, there was a survey asking respondents to name their "top 10 TV shows". After I named "The Rachel Maddow Show" as my top choice, Uncle Willie stated that my opinion was not welcome. I made it clear at that time that I really did not care what his opinion was of my opinion and that I would make room for my opinion even if none existed previously.

I just thought it might be of interest to some that Uncle Willie's resentment of me didn't come out of the blue, but is long-standing. If not of interest, please just disregard. I will continue to appreciate all of my fellow thread participants, including those with whom I have disagreements, no matter what.

Loved those pics! Actually it isn't, and never was that I've ever been able to find......but one of the largest myths of this kind that exist. But......we still like folks to think it is so they won't do it!!! There are some private lands issues etc, and it is illegal to walk on the side of the hwy, so there are ways to break the law. Most of my life I thought it was illegal.

Thsi is the closest explanation I've ffound. I was told my entire life that is was illegal. But, that said Texans don't pick the Bluebonnets! I would imagine some places have local ordinances against it. Texas Twisted | Is It Really Illegal to Pick the Bluebonnets? (Part 2)

Copy and paste of the pm :)

I have a tendency to throw things in a bowl and hope for the best lol
I use bisquick for my biscuits about a half a dozen biscuits is what you'll need.
1 cup of sugar
3 or 4 tblspns of cocoa powder
1/2 cup flour

mix them together.

1/2 cup of milk
1 egg
mix with sugar mixture

about 1 1/2 cups of milk heated over medium heat add 1 teaspoon of butter
when butter is melted add the chocolate mixture and cook until it just starts to thicken not too thick.

I let my biscuits cool to room temp. Crumble in a baking dish. Pour hot pudding over biscuits. Bake at 350 until spongy in the middle about 30-40 mins

I like to experiment with food and wind up eating it all myself the boys don't know what they are missing

I can't yet provide personal testimony, but according to Consumer Reports, LED bulbs last MUCH longer than fluorescent bulbs and WAY MUCH longer than incandescent bulbs.

However, if the bulbs you bought were the LED bulbs made by GE and sold at Walmart, they are rated only slightly lower than the CREE LED bulbs.

I've been using LED's since 2010 and I have switched out all the light bulbs in all of my homes to LED's. Huge* energy savings and I have LEDs installed right now that are still just as bright as the day I bought them ~4 years ago.

There is indeed a noticeable difference in the cost of lighting with LEDs as even when compared to low voltage fluorescent.
The latter not lasting very long, at least not as long as they're supposed to,
LEDs are cheaper to run and in maintenance cost since they are long lasting

My LED bulbs have proven to be long lasting and they're getting much more affordable too.
The lighting quality is superior to incandescent or fluorescent

What an amazing job done by Harrison Ford of landing his single-engine WWII trainer without killing himself or any neighbors!

My Dad self-grounded himself at the age of 83, due to failing eyesight, and had owned his own single-engine plane for many years. I took quite a few hours of dual flight instruction in both Cessna 172s and my Dad's Cessna 182, (I'm just too gangly to fit in a Cessna 152), but despite having the world's most laid-back flight instructor, Dave Platzer up in Princeton NJ, I never had a flight instructor who didn't take over the landing controls at the last minute. I was fully capable of doing everything except land the damn thing.

No biggie, though. At one time I had a pipe dream of being able to take off and land a helicopter on my own 13 acres, but a retired mailman can't afford to own an aircraft.

It's funny. I was watching a "Raiders" marathon on either USA or TNT (don't remember which) when Ford crashed his plane yesterday.

Hey Hazy,

I'm a total disappointment, man. I haven't learn a bit of the info you sent me.
Next year will come and I'll be saying: Feliz Ano Nuevo.

Not all is lost yet. Que bola mi socio.
Very very nice chatting with 'ya.

elby (notice I'm not plain Carlos anymore.)
I'm elby now. Not as good as Hazy though, but it is what it is.

A fellow resident of the Looney Bin baptized me with that name.
I'm somebody now. No poca mier.., but mucha mier..
I think the Native Americans are in the right.
Naming newborns is a mistake. I think a child needs to develop
before acquiring a name. Meantime the can be "son #1, #2. daughter #3 etc.

If I ever father a child again (God forbids) it will be named at drinking age.
I won't be here, but I'll be watching.
He or she will drink fer sure. Hijo de gato.....
I'll let you be for now. we will chat tomorrow, fer sure.

elby

Yea, what's up, Elby? That's almost Elvis so you gotta step up.
Believe me, I'd rather not be Hazy but we can't turn back the hands of time. The shades too.
I'd rather be sunny w/o shades but such is life in the big silly.

As far as the accents and such just google "Ax" freeware by vulpeculox.
Download and install it and you'll be all set to say
¡Feliz Año Nuevo! y El Niño Jesus..

I'm glad you're somebody now, Elby.
Know what you mean about naming kids. My boy's name is Tres...Yeah, like uno, dos, y tres

Good to see ya, Elby. Take care of yourself and be good.
¡Dále!
Hazy :2cool:

Good Morning Everyone.

Thought I would add in my two cents for LED bulbs. If you are still using incandescent - changing them out = savings - the difference in the savings with changing out CFL's and LED's is minimal - change them as they expire... I changed out some CFL's (internal can / flood lights) only because LED's offer a greater light (big time noticeable difference) than CFL's do.- I used the CFL flood lights since they still had life left in them for other applications that the brightness of the light was not as important. I was an early adopter of LED's when I was doing my first renovations back in 2002, but the cost have not come down enough for me to go full blown into changing out everything. Do the math...

In my case, one of the two CFL floodlight bulbs in the side door light had already burned out, and the one fluorescent bulb at the front door light had already burned out. That leaves me with a CFL floodlight bulb that still has some life left. I guess I should go put it back in the side door fixture until it fails. I'm agonna do that.

Edit: OK, for whatever reason, the old CFL floodlight was unwilling to be re-screwed into the dual-bulb fixture at my side door. I'll use it instead as an indoor fixture when an indoor fixture burns out.

is that right next to the "any" key???

If there's anything saved, it will show up in the "reply" box, at the bottom left, iirc.

Thanks! Kinda reminiscent of the "monkey bread" my mom used to make, and looks just as tasty!

I submit, Sir. That you look just like a guy that just locked himself out of his house.

In his bathrobe, slippers, and snowstorm, with the morning paper in hand?
