umanbean, glad you liked it. here's one more for ya

Takes me back. NTSU, mid 70s. I had no idea until I arrived there that they were the number 2 music school in the country. The number one public music school in the country. Underlying all the various kinds of music swirling around, there was always jazz.
I ate too much today, and feel as though I'm going to roll into bed......but it's sooooooo early!

Hi folks!
Hi, Gracie! Poor baby! Food and rain, the best ways to fall asleep.
Hi Flowersoul, sounds like we had a similar day. I took a walk afterward to help digest or else. LOL Hope you have a pleasant evening
You can walk in that condition?! Not me.
Before I fill y'all in on what's been going on....

Belated Happy Birthday to 3mg!! And, Legs, your new legs look fabulous. I hope you are more comfortable now. Kay, hang in there. Winter won't last forever!!

After hearing all the rumors and not being quite certain what the flip was going on, after our maintenance meeting on Thursday (my Monday) I called my boss. I mean, at this stage of the game, I need to be adaptable, BUT, I was tired of dealing with uncertainty.

Without going into a boatload of details, the bottom line at the moment is that I will not be leaving my base right now. Even more joyous news for me..........my lazy little nemesis applied for an opening at another base, and he WILL be leaving!!! God does NOT sleep.

At any rate, I don't know when his departure date is, and I don't really care. I'm taking one day at a time as that's all I can deal with at this point. I'm more at peace, although the weather has my body aching. I'm way behind here, but I wish everybody well!!
I'm glad you're feeling better, at least mentally. Regarding the slimy one, Free At Last!
So visiting the parental units this weekend . . . .
Every time you say that, I have visions of Coneheads.

... I do believe to this day that one can lift one's mood a tad by wearing glasses with red lenses.

Except for those of us who are "spethul"... And the color red actually causes irrational anger, loss of focus and loss of coherence.

Love his stuff.
Me too!
Beats da crap outta da theaters. And ya can pause it fer da popcorn and potty breaks!
Absolutely! I don't understand why people would want to go to a crowded uncomfortable theatre where you miss part of the movie if you take a potty break.

OK. I guess I do understand. Big screen and the excitement of the crowd. Just not for me.
umanbean, sounds like my kind of Sunday morning. I do similar in the garage tinkering with the cars. But the smooth Jazz is going, the coffee is hot and the Pups are keeping me straight. :thumb:
It's amazing how the colors change depending on the music you're listening to!
The guy playin the piano looks like he's wearing red satin undies:D
You made me look.
Well, this is my first appearance on The Back Porch. Although my experiences in High School and for several years after have left me with plenty of "back porch" experience. Nothing like it.

As for Outlander, it's the only show I currently follow. I was a fan of the books, so much so that I got kicked out of English class in 9th and 10th grade for reading them instead of reading the tiny books we were supposed to be reading in class (because I'd already finished them).

I've read some of the good, fantasy/sci-fi classics over the years. Harry Potter, Space Odyssey, Lord of The Rings (including The Silmarillion, which was a challenge even for me), and Enders Game. Out of all of them, The Outlander Series is my absolute favorite. The author, Diana Gabaldon, wrote the first book, simply as an exercise in learning how to write a book. It did so well that it became it's own series. I feel like I have lived another life in having read them. The show is being done perfectly. Literally the best book to screen adaptation I have ever seen.

Mainly because Diana Gabaldon is working with the director to make it. She knows that there are things that screen can do that book cannot, and vice versa.

The only thing they are doing that I don't like, is apparently doing 1 season per book. I would prefer 2 or three seasons per book, just because I want the series to last lol
Welcome to the porches! Looking up Outlander now.
Ok folks...I've burned up energy I didn't know i had ( darn music does it to me every time)so now I'm gonna be a good ole lady and go take a long hot bubble bath..."night all..sleep tight...
Sure you are. ;)
