Red , according to the psychology of color has always been a color associated with excitement. It's why you see so much of its use in advertising and product packaging. It over rides control, grabs peoples attention and gets them to buy what they may not have otherwise noticed...Because of that excitement quality and the ability to bring on loss of control, it's used extensively inside of casinos...;)

Pink, on the other hand....was found to be calming, and was used in some of the casinos in the holding room that security used to place people in while waiting for the police to come and arrest them.

The reference to seeing the world through red lenses should have been rose colored glasses, and that is not referring to a red rose, but a shade that is actually in the pink family. ...;)
Yarrr, bring me my red shirt, so the men wont see me bleed

My pleasure Umanbean, sharing is caring and we sure did that last night. Sure had fun and I'm right behind you this morning. I'm listening also. Just can't post pictures as yet. Have to figure that out. Make it a great day.

Darn, Legs, watch that first step!!
Easy does it and they'll wake up. Thank goodness we don't have to concern ourselves with speed at this point. ;):tumble:

@2legsshrt, I hope you didn't do too much damage and that you feel better soon

Well leave it to me. I pulled a really stupid move last night. I was going to walk to the other side of the bed and I had one of my suspension sleeves rolled down but figured since these legs were tight no sweat. I went to take a step and my leg came off and down I went landing on the end of the bone in my stump. Now I can barely get around. Think I am going to have to use my crutches. I don't think I broke it but the bone feels like a knife blade pushing against the end of my stump. This sucks all because I was too lazy to pull up the sleeve. You can't believe how stupid I feel. Now I'll probably have two weeks of pain because I wanted to save 30 seconds. This sucks.
Legs! Oh, man! That makes my leg hurt! I can't even imagine. I hope you haven't messed yourself up.

Well, this is my first appearance on The Back Porch. Although my experiences in High School and for several years after have left me with plenty of "back porch" experience. Nothing like it.

As for Outlander, it's the only show I currently follow. I was a fan of the books, so much so that I got kicked out of English class in 9th and 10th grade for reading them instead of reading the tiny books we were supposed to be reading in class (because I'd already finished them).

I've read some of the good, fantasy/sci-fi classics over the years. Harry Potter, Space Odyssey, Lord of The Rings (including The Silmarillion, which was a challenge even for me), and Enders Game. Out of all of them, The Outlander Series is my absolute favorite. The author, Diana Gabaldon, wrote the first book, simply as an exercise in learning how to write a book. It did so well that it became it's own series. I feel like I have lived another life in having read them. The show is being done perfectly. Literally the best book to screen adaptation I have ever seen.

Mainly because Diana Gabaldon is working with the director to make it. She knows that there are things that screen can do that book cannot, and vice versa.

The only thing they are doing that I don't like, is apparently doing 1 season per book. I would prefer 2 or three seasons per book, just because I want the series to last lol
I don't know, SciFi is doing a pretty good job with The Expanse.
Welcome to the back porch. I think you'll find it to be one of the best threads on ECF. :)

I tried and tried to get into it, and I'll generally take any Sci Fi that's presented, but other than visually, it has just not connected for me .. I'll finish the finale and see how they tie things together, if at all ..

Gabaldon's Outlander series, while mostly engaging, required I just skip over the repetitive Romance Novel bits that did nothing to advance the story .. the series is worth a watch ..

Not gonna like this one cause it reminds me too much of me and sounded like it really hurts. Get better quick my friend. Do you need to get an X-ray? I'll send Stuperman up. ;)

I think I'm liking it so much because I read the books and know what's really going on. There is so much in the books that there was no way they could get it into the series. They're a good read if your interested. I think there are eight of them. I haven't finished it yet but up until book 5 they're still good. Let you know when I read 6.

You mean this?... that's my e-cig holder - a 2" PVC coupler with a flat cap insert...
e-cig = Subtank Mini v2 base w/ RBA coil head, 0.5Ω coil, clear bell cap from sweet-vapes, on a copper SMPL, Sony 18650.

Promise I'll get off this selfie bug - after the 'new' wears off ;)
Umanbean, I really like your Mod holder. Really don't like when you go to reach for one and they topple over. I use Vape Bands but that sure is more effective.

I haven't seen that. Outlander isn't as much Sci-fi as it is adventure fantasy. Still good though.

But those are the best parts of the story lol

You know I don't know about that I have one little spot on the front of the bottom of my stump that if I touch sends like an electri shock through me. The rest just hurts. That spot bothers me though it's like the nerve is right there and hitting something sharp. I may try walking on it again. Have to be able to get up 7 stairs to the bathroom. My wife got my crutches out that clip to your forearms. Made it to my recliner with my cane and what ever else I could grab.
