Hey all, haven't been around in a while. Just wanted to say hi....
Red seems to be a popular color for necks as well.
Well leave it to me. I pulled a really stupid move last night. I was going to walk to the other side of the bed and I had one of my suspension sleeves rolled down but figured since these legs were tight no sweat. I went to take a step and my leg came off and down I went landing on the end of the bone in my stump. Now I can barely get around. Think I am going to have to use my crutches. I don't think I broke it but the bone feels like a knife blade pushing against the end of my stump. This sucks all because I was too lazy to pull up the sleeve. You can't believe how stupid I feel. Now I'll probably have two weeks of pain because I wanted to save 30 seconds. This sucks.
Well One good thing is I have 2 sets of different types of crutches a walker a cane and 2 wheelchairs except my batteries are shot in one wheel chair. I'll live.
she usually pops in, but it's been a bit infrequent lately. Once in awhile I see her in the hangout, but not often, I sure will if I see her and can remember.I hope Torey is doing well, been a long time since I had the pleasure of chatting with her. I for one miss seeing her around the back porch. Please tell her "Hi" for me...
thanks. It's available on Netflix, but only for the DVD thing. You can also see it through Amazon Prime with a Starz subscription. If you already have Prime, you might be able to get a Starz Subscription free trial thingy.
So sorry darlin. We've all done things to save time that we immediately regretted. I know you later said it was a little better, but keep a close eye on it, if it continues to feel like a nerve issue, please get to a doc and have em check it out.Now I'll probably have two weeks of pain because I wanted to save 30 seconds. This sucks.
Well, this is my first appearance on The Back Porch. Although my experiences in High School and for several years after have left me with plenty of "back porch" experience. Nothing like it.
As for Outlander, it's the only show I currently follow. I was a fan of the books, so much so that I got kicked out of English class in 9th and 10th grade for reading them instead of reading the tiny books we were supposed to be reading in class (because I'd already finished them).
I've read some of the good, fantasy/sci-fi classics over the years. Harry Potter, Space Odyssey, Lord of The Rings (including The Silmarillion, which was a challenge even for me), and Enders Game. Out of all of them, The Outlander Series is my absolute favorite. The author, Diana Gabaldon, wrote the first book, simply as an exercise in learning how to write a book. It did so well that it became it's own series. I feel like I have lived another life in having read them. The show is being done perfectly. Literally the best book to screen adaptation I have ever seen.
Mainly because Diana Gabaldon is working with the director to make it. She knows that there are things that screen can do that book cannot, and vice versa.
The only thing they are doing that I don't like, is apparently doing 1 season per book. I would prefer 2 or three seasons per book, just because I want the series to last lol

I didn't even feel my leg come off but when I went to take a step it wasn't there.
My brother is enthusiastic about electric bikes that use a powerpack with 56 18650's. But they are soldiered together, and not the right kind. Of course I had to bring up the subject of vape batteries-- and the fact that they are much safer than power pack batteries.Legs, you need a power chair that uses 18650's.
Glad to read that you're feeling better, Pat!Well I got my leg on and I'm able to put some weight on it. Made it to the bathroom with the crutches but think I will give the cane a go next time. Up the stairs. This morning I didn't think I'd make it down to the chair. Feeling better.
Don't know who it was, but not me. I've never had readywick before. Maybe Mike?
I lucked out today. It was in the upper 70's and beautiful....I do believe I'm depressed...and a tad touchy.....reason I have'nt been here or in the HO much... no big deal, but I CAN get ugly...... I know I know...me?!
I'm blaming it on the season...cold, gloomy, etc.
I may actually be off at that time.....hmmmmThanks much for that info bigbells, and glad to hear it. SO looks like a goo for that Convention then in March.
