Ok,
Results from stress test. I am ok, nothing new. Dr. wants to check the pacemaker. Sheesh I did that last week (phone in thing) and now he wants it checked? I smell money need. Health day at work, yes my Triglycerides are high (perhaps it was the ex-large pizza I ate last night?) Yes, I know that I am overweight, but my BMI says obese? Not true I am under tall! I need to be about 7'6"...

Hi Ellen!! Glad you came here. You're not at all interrupting, we often have a few topics going on at the same time! This is just a place to hang out and relax. We have some in their 40's here and some in their 70's, don't think anyone is in their 80's yet lol

I forget how long you said you'd been off cigs, but congrats again!! Pull up a rocker, recliner, swing, whatever and grab some coffee and jump right in
Welcome to the Back Porch, Ellen!

Well, I guess I should probably give you guys an update on the non-work stress that I'm dealing with right now. Thursday I'll be taking off work so that I can take my Bride in for CT and MRI scans, then Friday we will see the oncologist to discuss the aforementioned scans and get her twelfth chemo treatment of this second regimen. To be quite honest, things are not looking good. She is experiencing more pain than she was previously feeling. She is also a lot more tired and worn down than I've ever seen her. She is still trying to maintain an air of positive spirits, but I fear that she is realizing that she is nearing the end of what she can handle. This chemo regimen has been particularly hard on her; from the very first treatment, it has been brutal. I spoke with her best friend this morning, apparently my Bride told her that this may be her last chemo treatment. Not because the doctor will call it done, but because she feels that she cannot endure it any longer. She alluded to the feeling that she'd rather have a good year or so of feeling relatively normal (even if it shortened her life span) than to have two more years of feeling as she currently does. I cannot say that I blame her; I'd never blame her for feeling this way. But hearing this is a hard pill to swallow. Of course, I'll maintain a strong front for her benefit. It's all I know to do. But even still, my heart is heavy. I do not know what the scans will show; I do not know what decisions will be made. I know that I love my wife and I will support her in whatever she may choose. And I don't know what else to say... thank you for listening.

Best of luck to you and your bride. My father-in-law had prostate cancer and it slowly took him. About 3 years ago I was diagnosed with early prostate cancer, so I had it removed. To be honest, the choice is the person who has the disease, whether to continue treatment or not. This decision should be discussed with other loved ones, but ultimately theirs. Talking and sharing with others like you are is very healthy for your soul. If there is anything I can do to help let me know. As always ya'll are in my prayers every night.

Hahaha! Yeah, I primarily stick to either Kentucky bourbon, or Jack Daniels... both of those have gotten me through many, many trying times!

As for the name... no. That name is entirely derived from my own odd mind. I'm usually not one to share my given name in online forums, but I suppose that I feel comfortable enough here that I shall do so. Oddly, much like the men of your family, I go by my middle name: Daniel. :)

 The most excellent of names!

Thanks for the welcome! I don't know that I could diy. The laws here are rigid about importing only for 3 months personal use. So customs might dock it if they thought I was getting into production. Western Australia has outlawed it altogether. Crazy, isn't it? I only order pre made. Always spend twice as much on shipping than the cost of liquid. I've got it pretty well sorted now, just stay well stocked because the shortest ship time is 5 days. Still I'm saving 450$ a fortnight. Pretty huge, that. I lived in Pgh and DC until 2003. It is living the dream a bit.
We're trying to drag up @Wolfenstark to see if he can give you some help. He's been through the whole thing there & is making his own juice. We'll keep tagging him. He'll log in or check his email h find 30 messages from Porchers! LOL! [emoji48]

I have had remarkably similar feelings about my length of stay in the rehab hospital following my recent stroke. I'm pretty sure my need for treatment was closely related to their occupancy rate. And the plethora of follow up appointments. . . ? Same muscle tests every time, and the medical profession around here must be sadly unaware of politics and calendars. Each and every one of them needs to hear the name of the President of the U.S., the day of the week, and the date. Maybe they're checking my mental acuity, but they should be embarrassed by their lack of current events.

I know everytime I've been in a skilled nursing facility for post surgery pt rehab they've kept me for about a month & then suddenly they release me. That's because that's when the insurance stops paying.
Yep. After a stroke you get to play 20 questions. The same 20 every time. My mother got one over on them after her stroke. On about the 5th visit, when the Dr walkef in the room, she reeled off on the answers without waiting for any of the questions. I was SO proud of her!

Hi, someone spotted my first post and directed me here to introduce myself. I'm Ellen, sorry for disrupting the conversation, but am delighted that there are some other ah..mature people vaping. I live on an island in Australia and don't know anyone else that uses a vaporiser, so I'm just happy to be here.

Welcome @Vape? to the best thread ever! Relax, take off the shoes and have a nice vape!

Yeah! Good for her. When my sister had a psych evaluation (as an Alzheimer's patient) she was asked to recite the alphabet backwards. I practice that now, every few days. You just never know. On date and location, she was also lost. Sure, she had, and has Alzheimer's, but just keep someone in a secure facility for nine months with minimal contact with the outside. and see if any of them know the details of date and place. I was furious when I saw that evaluation, but nothing to be done about it.

Or, he could be like me. I don't get notifications on tagging.
