Mornin' all!

I haven't seen the US Navy Blue Angels since I was too young too remember or appreciate fully, but I've seen the US Air Force Thunderbirds a couple of times since then.

Same difference, right?
((poster grabs popcorn, runs off to find a comfortable and protected viewing position, knowing he may have stirred a pot or two))Knots is like Celsius to me... I have to convert in order to get a feel for it. 40 knots is 46 mph.
Knots is Nautical Miles Per Hour. A nautical mile is an even 2000 yards. Makes a heck of a lot more sense than the weird random number of feet in a statue mile. ;)

I've not had the privilege of watching the Thunderbirds.

Unless the air show is on the deck of a carrier? :)
Having been stationed aboard a couple carriers, I have to agree. I have seen some really impressive airshows from the deck of a carrier. Live 500 pounders and the F-14 wall of water are very impressive. The wall of water was an F-14 in afterburner so close to the water it is throwing a "wall of water" behind it.

As far as some folks that don't like the Blue Angles, the pilots can be a bit arrogant. The old saying used to be, "You can teach a fighter pilot, you just can't teach them very much".

No thank you... I have 'nuff sawdust in my life!

Try to imagine wearing shoes 2 sizes too small for almost a decade and a half...

No thank you... my Mom bought me a pair of plastic shoes due to da low co$t. Although dey fit, I had lil' blisters top to bottom, front to back. Feet do like to breath!

Anymore, always!

I really enjoyed sitting on the flight line watching the small fighter taking off and landing.

Good grief, that was a long time ago, LOL. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video.

I miss my 'birds'! Never tired of 'em. And yes, half a lifetime ago...

I enjoy all aero-acrobatic teams!

Reminds me of the brown paper towels we had it the Navy.

Some places overseas, that was all that was available as TP in public restrooms.

I am still waiting for sunrise here
I am just North of Tampa
Seems to be getting darker instead of lighter too
Something's coming !!

Dat's one angry lookin' red stripe out dere! I'm just now hearing it's thundering approach from da Gulf.

ETA: Classy, just read your post. Stay safe, please!

I hope this works well for everyone. Here is a video of the Blue Angles, the US Navy precision flying team. It is from the LA County Air Show in 2014. My first command was at Miramar Naval Airstation in San Diego. It was there that I was able to watch the Blue Angles for the first time. For the first year that I was attached to Navy Fighter Weapon School, I worked on the flight line eventually becoming a Plane Captain. I really enjoyed sitting on the flight line watching the small fighter taking off and landing. After that, I was assigned in the Rigger shop where I took care of the pilots personal protective equipment. Good grief, that was a long time ago, LOL. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video.

Wow, they're amazing. Not only do those pilots do amazing things with those aircraft, but every time they do those close formations I get butterflies in my stomach!
