Older Folks and Vaping Back Porch - Part Five

This late afternoon and this evening, the sky is ASTONISHINGLY clear. Out here in the sticks there's not very much light pollution, so I'm accustomed to being able to see the Milky Way overhead, but tonight is something else. I could tell when driving home from the grocery that tonight was going to have exceptionally good viewing. Unfortunately, no quad copter video of the night sky, because the camera won't raise up higher than straight forward horizontal, and I've tried but can't get up to where I'm level with the stars overhead.

That sky is gorgeous! And everything looks so fresh & green!

Could you hold it & point the camera up & film it? I so miss living away from the lights being able to see the stars at night.

I don't think I have a good enough low-light camera to take a good picture of the night sky even using a tripod and a really long shutter opening, like 60 seconds. I was tempted to try, with a camera that's better than the quad copter camera, but it's cold out there tonight!

Even if the camera on the quad copter was capable of taking a good picture in such low light, it would be impossible to take a picture with it pointed upward because the electronic gimbal that keeps the image steady when the quad copter is flying would twitch as it fought being pointed up. Sort of like trying to bend one's head 90 degrees backward while keeping one's spine perpendicular.

I did exactly the same thing: went in with 200, came out with 100, on the best of my recent seven days in Vegas.

I'm pretty sure I broke a rib I've had one before but I hate to get this guy in trouble. I know it will heal eventually. It's weird how it only hurt a little for the first 3 days or so then worse each day after. What do you think?

Glad you are going to get it xrayed........nothing to fool with. A broken rib needs to be stabilized properly since it can easily puncture a lung. they should wrap then xray again to make sure it's in the right place.

Well we decided to pack up and get out of the snow while the roads were clear this afternoon. Spending the night in Wilkes-Barre. Getting to here today means we will be home Tuesday. Yay!

Then there's the one that takes you miles down the dirt road where there's a side road just past the cattle guard, you know the one, the one that goes past the cow pond and the drip tank battery? "Well, that's not where you turn".

sounds right to me....often say something like this.....it's good for me to have a marker to know I'm in the right place.......ok. I passed that now, and it on up yonder just a bit.

The directions to my friend's ranch were to go 9.3 miles past the prison, take a right on the only road there, can't get confused cause there is no left, go all the way to the end of the road, turn left into that driveway, can't get confused cause there is no right, go down the driveway past that house, cross the cattleguard, follow the tracks to the right across the pasture till you see the log house. You can't see it from the road but you can't miss it either.

Went to my sister's today and picked up her old hutch. She's been using it in the laundry room.
It needs a little tlc...but I have a vaping cabinet now !!

The next morning he was missing at morning muster. Turns out he lost every penny he had won and what he had came with. Didn't even have bus fare. We had to run out to AC at lunch time and get him. He had slept on a bench in front of the casino and begged a phone call the next morning. What a shame.
