based on Matt's inquiry, I actually did muse over "How would I spend the Lotto money if I won .. ??" .. at first, thinking I would reproduce Norma Desmond's Mansion from "Sunset BLVD" in the Hollywood Hills ... my conclusion, however, was I would attempt to buy Chateau Marmont, 8221 Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, CA .. a decadent, run down, almost shabby Hotel from a Long Ago Age, much like myself .. ;) .. thus spending my final days as a denizen of a slice of American History that will likely never be repeated .. soaking up the ambiance daily .. and of course, extending an open invite to all that care to join me from the Back Porch .. this would be after spending at least six months in Italy and Monaco .. those should easily suck up all the money and likely more .. :) .. selfish .. yes .. but I would bequeath the Chateau upon my expiration .. :)

I have a tube tester. And a box of tubes.
That's about all there was when I first learned electronics. First test: Build your own TV. Awesome; it worked! Then transistors came around and the waters got slightly muddy. Then ICs and it got really murky. All the tubes and test gear I used to have are useless today, so they went bye bye.

Nothing specific, just dark, and a feeling of a nebulous formless "dark danger" just out of perception. THAT one is my dream equilivant of a waking panic attack, which I also fortunately don't get as much of anymore.

'Bout 12 years ago, I went through two weeks of major/intense deja vu drug free episodes. Nothing I would do would 'short circuit/interrupt' the 'dread'! Talk 'bout dark and bizarre...

If that ever happens again, I'll actively seek some 'good' drugs!

I do still have a tube radio that I put in a cupboard about 20 years ago. Maybe I'll pull it out and put it on a shelf as a conversation piece one of these days.

I have warm filaments of fondness fer vacuum/special purpose tubes! Due to my USAF specialties, I was in dat niche where VTs evolved to solid states devices. SPTs are in a class by themselves and still utilized.

I have 'bout a hundred VTs I hold on to 'cause I can...

Be forewarned! I get my 2nd in this set of infusions tomorrow. I was supposed to get this one last Thursday, but 1st of year billing & insurance rules caused it to be delayed until Monday. So possible steroid issues are impending. We'll see how it goes, I'm hopeful since I only had problems for the first fee hours last time. After a week post infusion I have no excuses for bad behavior. If you love me you'll tell me to shut up as needed!

If I won any sum of money... well, what would I do with it? I don't know... but I have some ideas. I'd first hire some engineers to design and build mind controlling robots, I'd have them built, take them to the CDC and FDA... and maybe even the congress and supreme court... let them loose, and take over the world that way. It's a damn genius idea. If / when that's all done... I'll donate the rest to charity.

If I actually won a sizeable amount I have a very simple plan.

1. Pay off everything.
2. Get my teeth fixed.
3. Make sure the car is in top shape and/or replace it.
4. Build a house that is totally accessible in Denver and finally live where I have always wanted to be.
5. Invest so I need not worry about income and have money to pass on when I go.
6. I think I am ready for another cat (its been 5 years since I lost Mouse). I think I would start actively looking for the right furface. I firmly believe the animal chooses the human not the other way around.

We just watched the Rocky Horror Picture Show, again
I tried to watch it on TV and it just wasn't the same as on the big screen with alllll of the audience participation.:rickroll:

The picture is nice, just please don't post the poem, or if you do, put it in one of those "spoiler" tags so I can skip it. I can't read that thing without blubbering like a freaking BABY. Then my eyes get all puffy, and my stomach is upset for hours...
When I lost my cat a few months ago, someone was kind enough to post the poem on here for me. Needless to say, I was heartbroken as she was a gift from my wife on our 10th anniversary. The poem was very moving and by the end of reading it, I was a weeping fool. Oh, who am I trying to kid, I can cry at a Hallmark commercial on TV. However, that poem was just what I needed.

And now for something completely different. ;)
in the strange dream category...
I'm that type of person who dreams of flying, floating down from bridges, running at the speed of sound, being chased by large dinosaurs in the city, etc... I even have a normal dreamscape where my dreams are staged. A city comprised of features from every city I've known, suburbs, farms, a couple of mountains and a seashore.
I learned long ago how to take charge of my dreams and chase anything that was chasing me and generally having a great time turning cities into forests, farms into launch pads for space and what not.
Last night: didn't have to go to the bathroom before I went to bed, so just went to bed...
Was having a nice little dream walking through one of the suburbs in my dreamscape and enjoying the spring weather... had to pee. so I decided to wake up and go to the bathroom.
woke up and was in a really comfortable position. Just didn't want to move... something is not right... legs and arms just not working... Oh. I'm still dreaming. WAKE UP!!! cool. got up and sat on side of bed. Something still not right. Test time. turn on the bedside lamp. no light. AH... STILL dreaming. make a huge effort to wake up and... that's strange... my bedroom door is in the wrong place and the "darkness" doesn't have the right quality. a bit mushy. darn. still asleep and still have to pee.
thrash around a bit to wake up, and did it. 'Now the bathroom is just down that hall'... um, no. it's on the other side of the living room. DARNIT!!! WAKE UP!!!
ah... there we go. everything is in the right positions. FIANLLY. was able to go to the bathroom and get back to bed and back to sleep.
6 times I had to wake myself up. normally when that happens, it only takes 2 or 3. so...
I was dreaming that I was dreaming that I was dreaming that I was dreaming that I was dreaming that I was walking in my suburb.
That ever happen to any of you?
Well, at least, YOU didn't wet the bed!

I got the Power Ball .. 13 .. which makes $2.00 into $4.00 I believe ... now, if I had bought $2 million in tickets and picked 13 as the Power Ball on each, I would have doubled my money, right .. ?? .. ;) .. so, how many tickets would I have had to buy in order to win a clear 900 Million .. ??
Well now, let's see...Yeap, you only have to buy one ticket - the right one. OK, I'll go to my corner and shut up.

If I do realize I'm asleep and want to wake up, I try to yell in my dream - that does it every time.
I'll try to remember that next time. It can be really, really hard to wake up. REALLY wake up, that is.
Hmm. The Lathe of Heaven...
I was curious, so Googled. Then proceeded to watch the whole thing.

Left the room for a little while. When I came back, A Brave New World had started playing after The Lathe of Heaven. Watched that for a while, until I realized how late it was. I'll have to finish it tomorrow.

Very cool. Entire movies on YouTube! I had never heard of The Lathe of Heaven. I saw A Brave New World before, but not this version.
If I were to win it we would all have a hell of an odyssey but, probably a little further away than April as passports would be required. I just read an article in the Sun-Sentinal about world cruises, something like 6 months, 32 countries and 60+ ports of call. Around 50,000 dollars double occupancy.
I like! :thumb:
Not to mention on yer OWN PLANE!!!! :D
Yes! No TSA! Just comfort.
