Hi folks, took me a while to track y'all down, guess that's what I get for not coming around more. Hope everyone had a nice holiday and is doing OK. It's been hectic around casa Kim B., dealing with hubby and maw in law's health issues. Things finally settled down after the holidays and I was looking forward to meeting my new grandson this past Saturday.

Friday evening I found my sweet calico kitty lying in the living room floor, catatonic and paralyzed from the waist down. :( My guess is that she had a stroke. I stayed with her all night, hoping that she would pass peacefully on her own, but had to make arrangements Saturday morning to have her put down. :( I was blessed to have this gentle creature in my life for 19 years. I know I did the right thing for her, but I am heartbroken. :(
Saturday was such a bittersweet day, welcoming a new life and saying goodbye to an old friend.

So sorry to hear about your kitty. 19 years is a very long life for a cat. Isn't it nice to have been able to share it with her? And a new little life has entered! How very special is that!!

Furbabies are a part of the family and when they go, it's hard, but she had a good long life and evidently you were a good mama to her.
Congratulations on your grandbaby! Let the spoiling begin! :)
Good morning all. I get to go setup for an outdoor dog show in temps in the 30s! Should be in the 40s by the time I get there. Thank goodness we rented a tent so it should be all set up and I have a propane heater to warm it up. Brrrrrrr. And I was looking forward to cooler temperatures? Be careful what you wish for!
I was wishing for cooler temps around Christmas, but the wish came true a bit late, but it did come true!

I know I did the right thing for her, but I am heartbroken. :(

Yes, you did, hard as it is. Never easy to let a family member go.

when i grow up, i want to be Mary Wells in 1965

Just one question, MT. Why grow up?

i hope the Panthers totally crush them. i can't possibly overstate "crush" enough... (grrr... Sherman)

But you'll get sweeter wine if you don't crush sour grapes! :p

So sorry. It is always sad to lose a friend 2 legs or 4 legs.
our little 4 legged buddies just do not live long enough.

You sure have your hands full, Kim! Sending prayers for hubby and MIL, be sure to take care of you, too. I am so sorry about sweet kitty, that is so hard. 19 years is a long time of love and caring, I am sorry for your loss. Warmest hugs. And a new baby!!! How exciting, go spoil him!

i just realized that i'm the anti-Willie :)

Just for informational purposes only .. I went thru a post jag on Marvin, Mary, Barbara and general '60's Girl Groups (on separate occasions .. ;) ) some time back, whippersnapper .. ;) .. in which I professed my infatuation with Ronnie Spector which has continued to this day .. however, if you would like to assume the anti-me title, yin / yang can cut like a fine blade .. ;)

In closing, I'm still hoping the bouffant hairstyle comes back around .. ;)

All of us who have furbabies ( or feathered and finned)...feel the pain when we lose one, so sorry to hear that, but....as others have already expressed, you've got a bit of joy there for you in the new grandbaby.

You've been missed...people were asking......happy to have you back with us....:)

is this allowed, yiddle? since you are now in charge of the porch?

ya know i would never, ever want to overstep my bounds. just ask classy...

ETA smiley. sheesh... :)

Ahem.....shouldn't that have been followed with...Let's Get It On ? ;)

Although it is a sad story, the good news is, you had many years of companionship .. let me also say, "Great to have you back and don't be a stranger .."

Depends where you wear them.

normal_sexy_huge_boobs_earphones.jpg

I recall there was an old saying about that .. something to the effect of "When my boobs grew ears, sounds just seemed to resonate more as the implant took on it's own natural tone, thrusting the treble out thru the nipple and bass exited my azz .. " .. or something to that effect, anyway ..
