Off topic and selfish - got our ring times for the dog show next weekend. Sat Jan 23, 11 am, we should be in shortly after (3 dogs of another breed before us). Looks like just Geordi and his brother Khan (Trekkers in this litter!). Sun, Jan 24, 9 am after 3 other breeds, 15 total dogs. Both days Ring 12. 1 point possible if we beat brother. But if we beat brother and get Best of Winners over the 4 girls, 3 point major! Hahaha! (need 2 majors, winning over a certain number of beasts, and total of 15 points for Champion title). Actually, if he is not a dork and lets the judge examine him and does not drag me around the ring I will be OK. He is a nice boy and we need ring time for training.

OK, my selfish rambling is done for now. Carry on..

LOL.....not selfish at all....and since when has there been a restriction on topics here ?... ;) Best of luck in the ring. Are you going to be using him for breeding once you have that championship ? :)

Possibly, but that's up to his breeder to approve. He has very nice bloodlines, but we shall see. I just sometimes don't like to interrupt a going conversation. :)

Huh I asked about doing that since 1 ltr would be close to what I paid but the guy on the phone said the code couldn't be used...I imagine they have several people on the phones and the one I talked was mistaken.
that really stinks

The Deb is strong though.
Jup!! I can wield a toy barbell like nobody's business!!

Those new ceramic coated pans are great.
My ex got my son and DIL the orgreenics set when they got married 2.5 years ago and they seem to be crap. Of course, not sure how they used them in those 2.5 yrs, but things do stick and don't wipe out, many are scratched, with the coating coming off in a couple spots. they do clean up very easily with a fairly quick soak. Dunno if they ruined em somehow, or if the orgreenics brand just sucks. He got em a set of em.

I love my stainless pans, and I love my cast iron. My big cast iron skillet needs some serious work on it. it wasn't seasoned properly when it went into storage so it's in bad shape. But the lil one is still great. Janet thanks for the magic eraser tip on the stainless. Not sure what those look like, hoping to find them in storage, maybe on Sunday.

Or the best of both worlds, a ceramic coated cast iron dutch oven.
Have wanted one of those for many years!

Ummm, I just got a notice that my liter of 100mg nic was shipped. As far as I can tell the price is still $30, but I only saw the 20% discount DIY20 code on the email I got announcing the sale. With shipping and the discount my total was $29.95.
wow you got a heck of a deal. I'm with Semi, bettin some slipped through that were 100 mg before they realized it.

Yea, but Deb don't use it for cooking... It's her man-handler... :w00t::lol::cry::cry::cry:
rofl!! Use it for both, but it does seem a bit dented on the bottom now........ you gotta hard head!! hehehe

I put all mine away because the wife unit was keeping on trying to ruin all of them. Leave them in the sink for a day full of water and such. Got tired of rescuing them.
Noooooooooooooo omggggg that post made my heart stop for just a second. So glad you hid them!!!

I like the Corell dishes the best.
Love corelle!! I have very weak hands and lots of arthritis, so it's so much easier to hold a much lighter plate. Son and DIl have 2 corelle plates that are basically for my use, cuz the rest of em are heavy stoneware. All I had was Corelle, and it breaks my heart I don't still have them.

hmmm .... tried that (selecting a folder from the left side) still does show the code below each pic. I can get to the code by hovering over the top left corner of a picture, then from the drop down menu select 'share'.

Moved this from the front porch...... this is what I see when I open a category.

oh kewl that worked!!! lol I wonder if you have to be signed in to see it that way for some reason, but I have them all listed to public. So I don't understand. Ok, well I just signed out, then went back to it, and yeah I see what you see. You can click on it so it opens in it's own box (left click) then do a right click and click save as to dl it to your computer. That stinks, I'm sorry about that. Anyone know how to do this to where folks will see it with the 4 codes when I give them a link??

Never off topic, and most certainly NOT selfish!! The often changing topics are part of what makes the porch great and interesting. I wish you and Geordi the very best!!! Can't wait to hear how it goes!! My ex brother in law and his wife had a basset that took forever to go up, cuz when they examined his nether regions he'd sit down! The bigger reason was also because he was of an old very good bloodline that the older judges loved and appreciated and scored him well, but the newer judges weren't used to seeing a basset like him and thought he didn't come up to snuff. When he did go up, he made his mother the most producing (female dog) of basset champions ever at that time.

ok. itz over. Winning ticket sold in Californy. They dunno if there'z any more yet.
Wow.......can't really imagine havin that much money anyhow. I'm sure more headache than it's worth. But I sure would like enough to live decently the rest of my life. Hope it don't ruin whoever gets it. Does Cali have a state tax? That'll be more money for em to waste if they do.

@2legsshrt and @Robert Cromwell moving this from front porch. To multiquote, it's easy. 2 ways to do it.

To quote the whole post...... on the bottom right hand corner of every post you click on the one that says +quote. you won't see anything at that point but it will add it to sort of a clip board.

To add just a portion of a quote......highlight just that portion You'll see a black box that pops up and says reply or quote. Click on quote, that will be added to the clip board. Clickin reply will just take you to a reply box and will insert the quote for immediate reply.

Once you've quoted all the quotes you want, either total or partial....go to the reply box and since you now have quotes on the clipboard, you'll see on the bottom left hand corner a thing that say "insert quotes" Click that, and all the quotes will appear in a box. you can delete some, or drag them to another spot, then you click on "Quote these messages". This will put all your quotes into the reply box.

when you reply, just make sure your reply is after the {/QUOTE] at the end of the quote or else your reply will be IN the quote.

It sounds complicated, but once you do it a couple times, it's really simple. Ok, your turn.......ready GO!!!!

I never said anyone couldn't. folks on the front porch were asking how to multi quote. So I moved that here to the back porch since it's not front porch material. I've never told anyone not to post vaping info here.....and to my knowledge, anyone who has was joking. get things right before you pounce on me please

One good site to peruse for info on the history and cleaning of cast iron is: The Wagner & Griswold Society.

I became interested in cast iron restoration several years ago, and at the time that site had the most comprehensive info on dating and cleaning my pieces. I even built an electrolysis tank based on the info and pictures there -on this page. Works great!

I already had a plastic 55 gal. drum, a car battery charger, and some swimming pool PH+ (sodium carbonate). A machinist friend welded a stainless steel rod to a SS grate for me. Scrounged up a few more bits and pieces, and voila! Amazing results - old caked on grease and even rust just "melts" off in a few days. I did all my old, inherited, pieces and many pieces for friends and neighbors since then - griddles, pans, dutch ovens, you name it. The little nooks and crannies in cast iron cornbread molds come out clean as a whistle.

The re-seasoning is the most time-consuming (and touchiest) part, but once you get that figured out - no problem. I use lard (ala Crisco) spread in a thin layer, several applications, in a 400 deg. oven. Too thick and it'll run -then you have to start all over.

OK, got this media embed thing figured out. I was trying to make it too hard! - By clicking "share" below the vid window, then the "embed" tab, then copy/pasting that code... just now tried copy/pasting the web address into the insert media box, and that worked... derp.

This is what I'm listening to in the background right now.
