Well, folks, I am the proud nana of grandbaby #4...

We welcomed Maria Catherine into this world last night weighing 7lb.10oz...19". She is so absolutely beautiful!!!

We're had to come home for a bit, but will be on our way back in a few minutes but had to come in and share our good news.
Rest of the family came in town and we'll all be staying at our son's house! There's plenty of room there so our new Mama and Daddy will have her privacy!
Mama Leoni (me) and my daughter will be cooking for the next week! We're all so excited and so very grateful!
Congratulations Grandma 4 times! So glad all is well and everyone is healthy.

Well Hello everyone. Sorry I have been going through some pretty heavy depression. I am scared of what is going on with my heart. What I have is calcification of the whole heart not just the valves. It's pretty rare like 1-2%. They don't know what causes it and the docs here really don't have an answer. The Cleveland Clinic which is rated #1 in the US could possibly fix it better then it is but it is expensive. They accept Medicare but only as a partial payment. It's $565 just to get a second opinion based on previous echos and operative reports. The UofW will accept Medicare is closer and is ranked #27 in the nation for cardiac problems. I'm not ready to give up, my mind is still good and sharp, except when it comes to buying vape stuff. I'm thinking of sending my records to the UW and see what they think. Here they are just watching and waiting for the inevitable. I still have severe aortic insufficiency and a worse leak then I had before surgery. What needs to happen is my aortic valve needs to be redone, my aortic root replaced and my mitral valve replaced. No one here is really qualified to do it and it is high risk like a <50/50 chance of survival. So I am weighing my options.
On the good side I get my new legs next Thursday so have to learn to walk all over again. Tried my test sockets yesterday and fit was good but being so much tighter is what I will have to get used too. It makes my calf muscles work more and tires them out pretty fast. These are going to be the best color yet plus my suction liners the new ones are black so they will look a lot better. Pics to follow.
I am supposed to see the specialist about treatment for Hep C next Friday but not sure how that is going to work. I don't absorb meds very well. Like they did a UA on me and my wife and even though we had the same gastric surgery she also takes the same pain pills I do about half as many and her levels were twice as high as mine, weird huh? Plus if anything is going to happen with my heart not sure if I should start it. I don't have any symptoms yet and my liver functions are still all normal so will have to wait and see.
Any way thats whats been going on with me. Nothing too exciting just having to make up my mind, again and you all know what that is like. Definately a problem. Think I will talk to my old doc and he will help, he still works in research. So I will contact him.

Damn! is my first thought. Hang in there.

Hugs @2legsshrt We are all here for you.

And we all know that you have serious problems with ordering new vapestuff. I think you have more serious shinyitis than anyone else at ecf. But I do enjoy your reviews, if only for insight into the consequences of serious shinyitis.

I wish you could come down here, Legs. Houston Medical Center has incredible heart & cancer center's. Debaky is here for hearts. Top notch. Go for the best, my friend. This isn't time to buy from Fastech.
I can't wait to hear how your new legs work out for you! You'll be tall again!

Congrats to the parents Flower!

Sorry to hear about your heart legs... Borrow from family if that is what it takes, get the best!

And I'm just popping in because I'm proud of my dinner.
Crock pot lamb. And I roasted a couple of stuffed bell peppers on top.

I know that we Porchers are scattered all across the country side. I just hope for everybody to be safe and warm in the next couple of days since it looks like it's going to be pretty nasty weather in the forecast.

God say the same, I'll be home when the worst nasty comes through. I'll be cuddle up with my fur babies, and sipping on gumbo.

The lamb turned out perfect! I was out of rosemary and black pepper.... nothing will substitute for fresh rosemary, but I used flaked red pepper instead of black pepper, and it added just the right zing!. The lamb is so tender that it just falls apart if the fork looks at it. I've got one bell pepper left, and enough of the rest to last me to the weekend and maybe beyond.
Good healthy cooking there.
BTW: I love my crock pot.

I love my crockpot, too! I made Hoppin' John on New Years day & have decidef it.s too good for just one day of the year. Nothing does beans, soups, stews, & roats like a crock pot. Best thing ever! Ok, coffee pots are better.

thanks, but never left, stay on the ground floor and only climb up here every now and then..keeps me out of trouble..
good morning to ya'll..
yeah once in awhile the names at the bottom catch my eye and I see yur name there, but I meant good to see you posting! Come on up and get in trouble like the rest of us!! hehehe

Hit 53 in Deerfield Beach last night. You'd of thought it was 10 below listening to all the whining on the local news.
Newp........53 is 17 below!!! Glad y'all are waitin til the nastiness passes through!

I have never been to a Cheddars.
But then I have not been to lots of places.
It's not really anything special, but like anyplace, it depends on who is running it. The one in Waco was horrible, although my son and the DM who put him there did much to clean it up. But the one we're going to, has always been the flagship around here of the brand! Sparkling clean, run well, great staff, good food. That's the one thing I really like about my son being in restaurant management in this area.......I know of at least a couple restaurants that are super clean in the kitchens and the way they handle food.

Hey! Been to the docs, did some shopping, came home for a little break and took my "dope", now i'm off n runnin again...but I heard this song on the way home and i can't get it outa my head so here goes
What didja buy?? Hope the dope helps ya feel better! Always loved Foreigner.

We welcomed Maria Catherine into this world last night weighing 7lb.10oz...19". She is so absolutely beautiful!!!
awwwwwwwwwww so very happy for all of you!!! And how amazing that y'all will all be able to be together to welcome her to the world, and cook for the new parents. Even though they're now "old hats" at bringing home a new baby, it's always nice to have help!

Think I will talk to my old doc and he will help, he still works in research. So I will contact him.
((((((((((Patrick))))))) I'm so sorry to hear this worse news about your heart honey. I agree talking to your old doc is a great idea. You trust him, and it never hurts to get a number of opinions. Glad to hear about your legs though, can't wait to see pics. You're in our prayers hun!! We're always here for you.

And I'm just popping in because I'm proud of my dinner.
looks yummy. Only time I ever had lamb was one time when I was a kid, and my dad fixed some lamb chops and didn't tell me what they were. I don't recall what they tasted like, but I do recall that "they were the best lil bitty pork chops I ever ate"

God say the same, I'll be home when the worst nasty comes through. I'll be cuddle up with my fur babies, and sipping on gumbo.
Hope it doesn't get too nasty for you or anyone. haven't been watching the news so dunno what's coming weather wise.

Son got hom just a bit ago, so am gonna go visit with him before he has to get to bed for work tomorrow. He opened, so only had a 12 hr day today
