Just don't do like I did got my haircut and hooked my shoe getting up from the barber chair and fell flat on my face.
I fall down a lot too. Well, not too bad now since I got my cane. Last year I busted up my face and broke my thumb. I'm all healed up now.

We are supposed to get over a foot of snow before Fred passes thru.
Just glad the ice missed us. Hit TN and southern KY though.
I75 is shut down in southern KY.

Yeah, it rained all night here and is now snowing hard. I hope there is no ice underneath it. I'm worried about going out. Not sure how other people here handle driving in this crap. I'm used to snow being from Illinois and all.

Ugh! I've been using one everywhere except inside my apartment for about 5 years now. There are plenty of things to use to push myself back on track there. My back makes me wobble to the right a bit. I can just touch something & get straightened up. But the further I have to walk the more I need it to actually lean on.

I wish it would snow HERE. For once. Keep warm. :)
We haven't had snow down here since maybe 2006 or 7. We got 6" on Christmas Eve I think it was. The last time before that was 20 years prior. We tend to be ice on bridges, tho. It.s weird, there seems to be a weather line or something about 5 miles north of us. It will get icy or rain from that line & north, but south of the line completely different.

Same with me. When I visit my sister in New Orleans she ALWAYS wants to go to the quarter. Walking and walking. I HAVE to use it then.

I wobble pretty good myself. My knees are like worn out hinges and by trying to compensate I fall down, go boom entirely too often. I have a cane (two actually) but they're a pain in the buttocks. :)
Interesting that the southern states are loading up their trucks with salt. Just salt.
Mostly Salt and Sand. At least in Virginia and North Carolina. The storage domes have 100% salt on one side and 100% sand on the other separated by a lane for the endloader. Still will rust your car to nothing if you don't rinse it off when the weather gets better. Love having a pressure washer! :)

Not according to the VA gov. on CNN. He said salt. Period. And northerners know that's about as handy as screen doors on a submarine. Salt n' cinders iz da norm.

Houston used to use a sand & salt mixture for many years. The last 3 years or so they are using something else. I don't think there's any salt in it.
