I just realized a vaping milestone was close, so checked the 'quit smoking' app on my phone and sure enough - yesterday at 5 pm was exactly 1000 days since I quit the marlboros!

yeeeeee!

Bach is almost finished, next up: Beethoven. A little sample, first cut on the CD -

Bean of a thousand days! Congratulations!

Oh no! I was really hoping it would skip Janet! Any chicken soup left? And you can't get out to go get an rx for her. Ugh!

I was planning on it missing me like it has in the past, but not this time. Haven't felt this sick in years! The fever is gone this morning so that's a big help. Not much chicken soup left, but I made some egg custard yesterday before this nasty hit me. Fortunately our wonderful neighbor is going to plow out our driveway for us. Bless his heart. We've got about 10 inches out there and they're calling for another 12 this afternoon. As long as we don't loose power we're just going to snuggle in and be very grateful that we don't have to be out in it.

Yeah, but great southwestern shut down, loved their cinnamon rolls.

hmmm never had their cinnamon rolls. It was a Henderson's before that, and I remember when it became great southwest. Used to love the Riverforest smorgasbord, but that was long gone before you got there.

Snuggling in sounds like an ideal situation. Hope you continue to feel better, Janet!

Thanks to all for the kudos, and YES it does feel good!

Janet H, what are you doing out of bed lady?... You should be under the covers with MikeE3 waiting on you! (He is on the upswing side of his illness by now isn't he?... hope so)

Y'all stay warm and dry, make lotsa comfort food, and as the young'uns say "Vape On Dude" (and Dudettes :))

That sore throat lingers on. I tell you, the flow of gunk from my sinuses was full of reminders of harsh vapes. I made a crock-pot full of spiced cider yesterday, and re-bottled it for nuking a cup at a time. Was very soothing, especially alternating with my mint and koolada vape. I finally ordered some clove flavor to give it more punch.

Next time I refill the Orchid dedicated to throat-ease, I will reconfigure it to what I estimate to be ten ml capacity. :D

I did feel something coming on, and didn't want to chance it so have been taking megadoses of Vit. C (8k or more) and zinc tablets and that combo arrested it. Vit. C is water soluble, so no problems, but zinc I don't take more than 50mg per day

hmmm? on my screen that was black text on white background.

Not going good around here ... I've still got the sickness and now Janet went to bed before supper w/ 102F fever. And there's a blizzard out side the house. We may not get out of the house 'till mid week.

Oh boy! As Gracie would advise you...zinc lozenges and Vitamin C and chicken noodle soup ( that one was from me:))

And no kissin n carry on for the time being!

i bought fresh veggies for the first time in about 6 years. i'm slowly trying to wean myself off tv dinners. i stopped cooking real food when my hand went numb, but after 6 years, i'm accustomed enough to it to try cooking again.

tonight will be a cauliflower or broccoli night. not sure yet. preceded by a caesar salad, which, of course, is the ONLY salad :)

Scott's chili pic has had me looking steely-eyed at my neglected crockpot. i may be putting it back into use. googling recipes. i used to crock a mean navy bean soup.

good thing you have a "slow cooker'!
