Taken this morning at high zoom, with a pocket camera, through a not particularly clean window, from about 40 feet away, so not a very sharp image.
I'm still 80 messages behind, but has anyone mentioned persimmons and pomegranates in the food discussions?

There really are a few good people out there......Dog was barking his fool head off, looked out my back door and there were two men clearing off the snow on the landing and ramp I have, down to the parking lot !!!! Told me that even their little snow blower couldn't do anything with all the hard packed snow in front. Said it's the same way all over, but.....they promised to dig out my front door tomorrow so I can get mail delivered....

I know there are some negative aspects to the internet, but....isn't it wonderful that we can reach out, converse, and make friends with people anywhere in the world they may be ? :D

That is wonderful, Yiddle! I've been hoping the City or someone would come dig you out! Nice people are nice to have around.

definitely.

i first went online in '72 or '73. playing the original Dungeon-crawler game over my 110 baud modem. fun times.

within a year, i learned how to download actual programs (often from Russia back then) and started learning how to talk to people online. i remember a lengthy conversation i had with someone in France or Belgium (back when i still remembered all my French)

then, the BBS's started. it became even more freaking amazing that no matter where in the world you lived, you could actually talk to people all over the word!

it was glorious

and then, a year or two later, the web started to take shape. i remember thinking "holy crap, this might actually catch on"

so... yes... it is truly wonderful

we are lucky to be able to make friends this way, but it's been a long time in the making

Cheers, friends!

Just pop a whole boiled one in your mouth and swallow - slides right down, no chewing necessary. :w00t:

that's raw oysters, not okra. If you're not real hungry but want the taste of raw oysters just buy one and tie a string around it thereby enabling swallowing and retrieving as many times as necessary.
