Welcome to all the new folk! We have had a lot of folks join us lately and all are welcome. You have foud what I believe to be the greatest thread on one of the best forum on the whole web. Again welcome. Sorry I'm not calling you all out by name but, you know who you are so I figured it would be OK. After the drive today I'm lucky I can remember my own name. :)

Can't call it but, you can access it via the interweb if you set it up correctly. You have to make sure your router passes the correct ports through as well. Kind of a PITA. :)

I've got to get a new printer. My last one was an HP Deskjet. I just threw it out. It was so old there was no way to connect it to my laptop. It didn't even fax, copy, or scan, but it printed great.

Nonononononono. It's a stretch for me to even consider a new printer. I have steadfastly refused to buy a new one since I retired. The only time I've needed one was to print or copy something for insurance or gov.t. i've made it clear to both that they aren't worth the expense or aggravation.

So sorry to hear that; they are a part of our family. I have two Mini Schnauzers one of which is 12. I dread the day when we have to part
I had to have Barney the Cat euthanized last Wednesday, and on top of losing a long time family member, it was my worst veterinarian experience of my entire life.

I still have Nermal, but at 71 I'll never take on another cat. Either I'll die first and leave him stranded, or I'll have to go through a similar situation in the future. Right now, it just doesn't seem worth it.

Thanks. Sad to say, no. In spite of their having maintained an armed truce for years, I really expected Nerm to show some sign that something was missing. He doesn't, but he can only be what he is.

well that's good though in a way, him grieving also would likely upset you more

3:08 (my fav centerfire caliber) and I'm up already!

I gotta do something to adjust my circadian clock back to some semblance of 'normal'!

Lately, I sleep from 8pm to 3am... wake up and can't go back to sleep. At night after supper, I'm ready to crash.

At least I'm gettin' 7 hrs......

Hooligans caps were bigger, & floppy on top weren't they?

Yes, now that you mention it - that's right. I've only seen 'em in movies and ,of course, worn by the 'hooligan' type character... didn't Robert Redford wear one in "The Sting"?

Best one I've ever seen as with him leaning over at the table like he does with the caption "I don't always fart but, when I do, I lean over like this."

I'll see that fart joke, and raise you another one:

the-most-interesting-man-in-the-world-memes-fart-sandbox-665941.jpeg

......makes me feel FRISKY....;)

The same thing comes to mind as when I saw you in your Halloween outfit-
Yeeowsaaa!

Sounds like I need some of that stuff...

for my wife :w00t:

Nice! I've had a number of Dell laptop's over the years for work and personal use - always liked 'em.

I like to work on Dells, they have very good legacy driver support - and easy to find and install them. In fact, last week I blew Win8.1 off a relatively new Dell laptop and replaced it with Win7 Pro, for a diesel mechanic that needed 7pro to hook up to a vehicle computer diagnostic device he needed, badly. And all the Win7 drivers I needed were right there on the website.

Early mozilla? Don't remember cello and mosaic?

I certainly remember Mosaic - the first 'real' graphical browser (circa '94 i think?), and the progenitor of Internet Explorer v1 and Firefox... MS and Mozilla licensed parts of the code base at first. I think Firefox may yet still contain some of the original code.

.....I thought I knew most southern terms, particularly with food. But cat head biscuits was knew to me, had to look that one up. I've made them of course, just never heard em called that. I'm dyin for some fried green maters!! And what I wouldn't give for some country ham!!! (salt cured for those that don't know)

Well I'm glad I 'learned' ya something hun, cat head bicketts are a staple around here... ya want me to send ya some sho-nuff salt cured ham and fat-back?

Yes, new to the back porch. Just found it. I am sooo old I fart dust... I will be 61 this week!

Yeeeeeee - if you're 61, I'm still the young'un around here!! :pervy:

My birthday is this week, too. A famous old road.

I always wanted to ride Route 66 - from one end to the other.... oops...

Printer? I got one of these a bit over a year ago. Got Wifi? It is wireless and no problems. I even got a free app and print from my Kindle Fire to it, which Amazon says cannot be done......

Thanks Robert ... just took a look at it ... not bad at all. I've always liked HP printers, they've served us well over the years.

Do you know if this one will print black text even when a color cart is empty?

The F4500 is our main printer in the house, I like it because it's so compact and the wireless makes it very convenient - and we can print from our Android phones too, also something that I think is not 'supposed' to work.

Mine has been printing without a color cartridge for many months now... not sure if it does duplex tho - we never use that.

ETA: oops - Mssr. Cromwell, I just looked at your link to that printer, and your 4500 looks different from my 4500... mine is prefaced with an F, not an Envy, and likely a lot older.

I don't have any real input regarding a new printer, other than.....I've not had good luck with HP products.....printers or computers......YMMV....:(

Know what burns my ....? (a little flame 'bout this high :pervy:)... naw, but seriously - replacement ink cartridges are a HUGE ripoff!!! Don't matter what brand printer it is, the damn carts cost half as much as a new printer!
