I heartily disagree with that as well. It's ALL about memory and math skills, for those who are card-counting in their heads. Way beyond my abilities even though I'm in the top one percentile on those counts.It really has nothing to do with a better memory or math skills.
I know some people who mathematically would be quick enough to be able to recognize the few situations when the odds would actually be in their favor, including one or two who CLAIM to have an overall winning record at blackjack, but I don't take their claims at face value.
Card counting is not cheating, even though casinos treat it that way. Card counting is determining what the odds are at any given time with any given hand, based on what cards have already appeared and therefore, what cards remain to be dealt.
