This is why i dont play blackjack.. texas holdem is my game... the funny thing is my and my sister both learned holdem independently, didnt even know the other played, but we have the exact same playing style... so needless to say we have played for hours with neither of us gaining a chip advantage lol

Welcome to the porches jb ... I see you found the front porch too.

Ok, riddle me this, oh great guru's uv da forum...

Have a TV with two HDMI in ports. (worked fine for years)
One port (HDMI 1) getting shaky. That is, cutting out, clipping, whatever u wanna call it. Have to wiggle the cable to get it back working.

Now, I obviously need two ports One for tv (from main tv), one for monitor. (HDMI 2 works fine for monitor)

Got a switch. Plugged into hdmi 2. Nope. No video at all. Selecting either cable on the switch does nothing video wise. I can select source with the remote but hdmi 2 doesn't even show up with it plugged in.

Since both are marked "input" For the tv side I'm assuming I need a 2 (or more) in ports and instead of an out port... another in port "instead" of the outport. However, doesn't seem to be any such animal.

Or am I just completely insane? (hmm... just answered my own question on that last sentence)

Try 2 things
1 try different hdmi cord in 1, problem could be in cable end

2 try channel search with switch plugged into 2 and video running on it

tanks, Unc. But I believe HDMI is only one way. The computer is obviously an out and the main tv has a few hdmi ports. 3 in and one... out! That's what works this tv. (cables would be bi-directional)
Oh, and this tv also has a dvi port which goes to the server. So even replacing the tv would be an effort in futility it seems.

Yeah, however, there are DVI to HDMI adapters, that, of course, won't pass thru sound .. what do you use the TV HDMI out for .. ??

Also, the second link is a Matrix device .. check it at

Amazon.com: FarSail FS0402 4K x 2K HDMI Matrix 4 In 2 Out video audio distribution amplifier With IR Remote Control,Supports 3D MHL SPDIF ARC Audio Setting: Electronics

Or this one ..

Don't need sound on the server. :) The DVI works fine for that. There is no hdmi out on the tv. Only in. Now the main TV has an hdmi out. That's what I ran the cable to for this tv. (Won't work if I try to use an hdmi in port from the main tv)

So essentially, this tv is a server monitor, a third computer monitor and a tv. All of which work fine except for the hdmi 1 being flaky for the last few months. (I can just change source with the the tv remote)

By the way, tried 2 switches, same result. Like I said, I found it odd that you're supposed to plug an out port into an in port on the tv. But assumed it was only a pass thru anyway.

Have you tried aerosol contact cleaner, something like Deoxit D5, on the HDMI 1? If wiggling the cable makes a difference, sounds like it may just be a bad connection probably caused by oxidation or corrosion?

Yeah, baby!!

Just keep your balls and fingers outta 'em!

Anyway, you should always wash your balls and fingers the old fashioned way - with a stiff brush!

This morning's flight uploaded to YouTube at lower resolution than normal,

LOVE the soundtrack! That is one of my all-time favorite music videos... won a handful of awards after it came out... stop-action I think they call it?... maybe some clay-mation mixed in too. Anyone who's never seen it, search youtube for 'Sledgehammer' Peter Gabriel - click the first one... turn it up.

Here, playing it right now so, I'll just stick it in:

No I can see the connection itself wiggle around when I move the cable. Really loose. HDMI2 is solid.

Changed up juice... lol vaping one of my diy... equal parts custard, vanilla, and root beer... nice vanilla custard inhale with a hint of root beer on the exhale... thinking about upping the root beer on the next batch to bring it out more.
