Good morning, Porchers :)

It seems that rain is visiting folks up and down the east coast, today. Here, it's accompanied by some pretty strong gusts; the trees are swaying, their branches dipping and swaying in a lovely, balletic dance. The osprey, too, are swooping about, flying in great circles to get sticks, twice their size and more, back to the emerging nest. Another day. Hurrah!

Age - 41 - I made a rather large career mistake that year and that is the year that my daughter got hit by a car on her bicycle (changed her life a lot in her later years). I would postpone my career decision by two weeks and prevent my daughter from going on that ride. Everything else - I can live with...
That's a different way of looking at it. Leaving the years of trauma as they were, leaving the years of having children as they were, all the important stuff intact. The only problem of going back to that time (1984) is that there were no e-cigs yet.

If I could go back to the summer of 1984 (age 27/28) AND not be addicted to smoking, then that's when I would like to go back to. Otherwise, I'll take now over then gladly.

Ah, but if you could go back to 1984 with your current knowledge - then you could be the one that invents ecigs... :thumb:

If you could pick an average and go back knowing what you do now, what age would it be. Probably 16 for me cause that's the age I started making stupid decisions. ;)
I wouldn't want to go back to any age because each year, lessons taught brought me to where I am today, and today is good!

No...my heart just hurts

{{{{{{{{{{Classy}}}}}}}}}}
It's okay when your heart hurts. It means that you care deeply about something. :)

And, in reference to the proposed topic of going back to a previous age with today's knowledge, I'll leave you with this quote:
What you are is God's gift to you.
What you become is your gift to God.
~Unknown~
None of us would be who we are if it weren't for our past. That being said, the past is behind you and the future is not promised. Live for today and be a blessing to others. :)

I'm with ya all the way on that! What if I didn't do the things I did, or what if I did do the things I didn't? Shoot, as bad as some of those decisions were, maybe they could have been even worse!

6 1/2 is when things started going horribly wrong.

But, I don't want to go back and start over. I just want to have a healthy body and mind to live with NOW.

None of us would be who we are if it weren't for our past.

'zackly!

We always tried to make the best decisions we could with the information we had at the time. Mis-steaks? Sure. And they were as much a part of "forming" us as the right ones. Amending those would then change who we became - and likely also have deprived us of some learning and growing.

So... if I could go back and still know what I now know, any age and time would be ok, since I'd have to do the same things to become who I am. And since it's taken me this long to actually like who I am, I'd be forced to do the same things! ;)

ohhhhh that sounds sooooo good!!!

Deb. There's no singing on Dancing With The Stars! [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]
hehehe I know but but but.......well I'll leave it for Dave's post

What's wrong with men wanting to see the pets movie? Hmmm? It looks hilarious, are you implying something about us men that like movies like that Debadoo?
No I think it's wonderful!!! Just was surprised! Most men either don't like animated films, or won't admit it if they do. I was thrilled to see so many.

Unfortunately down in Deerfield. I'll have to send it to you. :(:censored:
Me too. :) for dil's mom.

Ya, wish we could too! I'm SURE it will be FANTASTIC!!! You guy, gals whatever, take lots of pics and post !!! At least we can live vicariously through you ;) .
we'll be doing some hangouts hint hint can't recall if you said you didn't have a camera, mic or both, dunno.

I've been married a grand total of -12 years. 2 husbands +1 husband I don't count. Apparently I just don't learn.
Me either. My picker was and likely still is broke!!

Oh hey, Speaking of the "pilgrimage", I have an old Alaskan cheer to pass along to all who are going.
This has proven to be a good "sobriety check" in the wee hours of the morning. It goes like this.
Here's to you as good as you are.
And here's to me as bad as I am.
As good as you are,
You're as bad as I am.
And as bad as I am,
I'm as good as you are.
So here's to you as bad as you are.
And to me as good as I am!
I'm in big trouble then........I couldn't read that straight while stone cold sober!!

@Debadoo misread Matt's post. The deaf guy and the guy who sings are not the same person.
Ok, here's matt's
Once again it's Monday and time for Dancing With the Has Beens (Dancing with the Stars). The got this huge black dude who's in Boyz to Men who is absolutely fantastic as is a deaf dude. We're talking absolutely Stone deaf. Can't hear the beat or anything. Lots of practise I guess but, he's very good. :)
I don't doubt I misread it, but I still am. I'm reading "dude who's in Boyz to Men and is a deaf dude." But, I did just now look it up......and they are two different people. But this is where I got cornfuzzled. Sure sounds like he was saying the Boyz II Men guy is deaf.

Two other lines from the same commercial: Can I call you back, Mom? and, are you taking a Zumba class?
Jup.....love it. My current fav isn't really funny and I only saw it once, but it was a guy who got a truck.....somehow he ended up takin it muddin.......had a blast, pulled up in the driveway, both he and the truck were filthy but he had a huge smile on his face!!!

Debadoo doo.... I tried to get on my bank acc't a bit ago...and it worked finally!!!
Wahooooooooooo very happy about that!!! Now make the doc give you something non narcotic that will help with pain. It's just a muscle relaxer, but the only thing that has helped me even a little (and I've been on a lot of muscle relaxers over the years) is skelaxin/metaxalone. Dunno if another would help you better or not

Featuring the magnolia tree in my back yard, a fast descent and landing at the end of the flight, and a wave that's someplace else other than the end of the video.
i LOVE magnolias!!! and wow that thing is huge!!

Cuteness is
oomgggggggg that was soooooo cute!! Had to send that one to my son, he has always loved pugs. The pics of your baby girl were adorable too!! Feels like I spend about 1/2 my life rubbin Frankie's belly. Bet you do too with her.

I don't get the monkey puppy baby commercial. I'm probably missing something hilarious!

wahoooooooo we can help ya in the hangout get the gist of the coiler. and with everything else. But I'm still hopin you might be able to stop by the tiki house for a day also. Better in person. We'll get ya totally up and runnin with it either way.

((((((((Semi))))))))))) I'm so sorry darlin!! I hope you know it's not your fault though.

still feeling a bit off today, so...
everyone wants you to think their Bae is the wonderful significant other.
What does Bae mean
(((((((((((Ken))))))))) sorry you're feeling bad. I've never heard someone use Bae, except for on Once upon a time. Rumplestiltskin called his son that.

You make a storm sound so beautiful!! I do love thunderstorms or any storm, when it's not a super dangerous one. The fury of nature can be mesmerizing!

No...my heart just hurts
(((((((Classy))))))))) did we do that to you, or just compound something else that made your heart hurt? Either way, I'm so sorry.

Jup!!! You and Gracie said what I wanted to say. As hard as some things were, they made me who I am, and I like who I am. Took me a very long time to be able to say that. Do I like everything.....newp, but I'm still a work in progress......but overall, I'm content.

It took me several years to realize that. We had just come back from daughter daddy day - feeding the ducks and having a picnic lunch - she wanted to go tell her friend what we had done together - I almost stopped her and told her that daughter daddy day wasn't over yet, but she was giving me those puppy dog eyes that only a child can give and I gave in...

She had 17 bones broken and they had to do emergency surgery to save her life - still walks with a limp today - that is one decision that I would like to change if I ever had the chance... Just sayin...

Completely understandable, Semi... I think that any of us, given the chance, would do anything in our power to prevent those we love from ever experiencing something as tragic as that. I hate that she had to go through that and that she carries that reminder to this day. I also hate that you had to carry that guilt for so long. On the other hand, I am very happy to know that she survived and is still with you today. That tragedy also made the both of you stronger in ways that you may not even know. Not one of us knows what God's plan for us may be, but I have faith that the hardships in our lives are still part of his plan. In my heart, I feel that they are necessary to prepare and strengthen us for things that are to come. I believe that. I have to.

@Kaezziel - What she said. Same as I believe - our lives are molded as we enter each day, but that does not mean that you will not make small decisions in life that you wish you could change.

What is the old saying - Hindsight...

I agree 110%. There are many things that I wish I had done differently... just as there are many things that I would do all over again the exact same way that I did 'em the first time. :)

I understand this completely. Accepting that it isn't your fault when something happens to one of your kids is very different from accepting that it did happen.
I'm glad you realize it isn't your fault, I still struggle with that at times. But I also understand wishing you could change it, because if I could go back in time and change one thing, I know exactly what I would want to change.
