I'm 6 foot even. My mother was 6 foot 4 inches. Lots of the kids in the neighborhood would ask her how the weather up there was.
Hmm... tall guys used to say "check the thermometer". Guess she was out o' luck for a response. :/

Just watched (thanks to dvr magic) childhoods end on the sci fi channel, dhey did a good job with the first part. If you havent read the book do so, should be required reading, along with enders game and starship troopers. Life changing books.

Last stinkie 10/15/2013

Got the dvr set to record all three episodes, but haven't seen it yet... anxiously awaiting time to binge it!

And dead on with your comment, Matt, about their series generally being better than their films!

It's a special day for me, my 3 YEAR VAPAVERSARY!!!!

Wow, Matt, your mom was hugely tall for her generation. Was she recruited by the WNBA?

Really don't think it works that way! :)
Prolly for the best. Missing a curb from 6'7" up would be worse than missing it from 6'0". On the other hand, the step ladder might be needed less.

Went down? Didn't even notice it. Wonder what changed?
Yes, from something in the vicinity of 5 to 6 am EST.

I knew I shouldn't have said anything about sleeping well. Been up since 1am. :-x Gonna try to nap a little now. Not for long though. Got roofers coming. I sure wish my BIL had done a little better maintaining the place!
Now, now, better to just deal with the sitiation as it are than to blame the relations!

2 oz slice of quality deli roast beef (rare), 2 slices of tomato and half a just-ripe banana on a quality Kaiser roll. You are not qualified to opinionize on it until you've tried it. Yum!
So wen kin eye expekt it?

Yeah, those are the kind of maneuvers where the Law Of Compounded Errors used to prevail with greater frequency than it does now. (No, the OTHER left... uh-oh!).

In the video I was standing on my path next to that magnolia, which was a 7' tall sprig when I planted it 13 years ago. Not impressive growth in 13 years but the soil is pretty poor there.
I have seldom seen a magnolia that grew fast.

Now that would be my speed, don't know about the agility part. Might do a face plant getting over those high hurdles. :D

My Grandad was 6'4, my Dad was 6'2, my Mom was. 5'3 (& has shrunk to about 5'), I'm the tallest child at 5'9½, my Daughter is 5'8, my grandson is 6'5. He got that extra 3" from his Grandfather's side. He was the 6' runt, but his brother & Dad were 6'5. Real stringbeans.

Do I have to show you again? Well, OK, I'll do it again. I added a slice of provolone this time.

I have seldom seen a magnolia that grew fast.
I've got 3 magnolias. All 3 of them were identical 7' tall spindly sprigs when planted in the spring of 2002 or 2003. The one at the southwest corner of my house is about 30 feet tall. The soil is rich at that location, much much more than at the front of my property where the other two magnolias are planted, but all 3 of them are getting along. The NJ buddy who visited me and helped me buy and plant those 3 magnolias (as well as the 2 crape myrtles in my front yard which hang on without fanfare) refuses to believe that the magnolia in back received no better care than the two up at the front of my property, which are in soil consisting of dry red clay and sand. Nevertheless, the truth is the truth. I'm quite accustomed to people who try to blame me for the truth upsetting their apple carts. Happened recently on the Front Porch in fact, but since all my life people have tried to make me a scapegoat for their problems I don't get bent out of shape by those who try to blame me for the fact that they are petty, insecure, vindictive, wishy-washy or whatever. Know what I mean, lol? It's not my fault no matter how much they wish that blaming me would solve their problems.

Well good morning people. Man I am beat I have been trying to get this Winows 10 to work. One thing that it didn't do is if you have an AMD Radeon video graphics card there are no updated drivers for it that are compatible with win10. So my HDMI plug no longer works with my good laptop. I went and got a VGA plug and it worked but not to my satisfaction. The picture was in the wrong resolution and I couldn't get it right. Two days now with no nap and I have been so tired by 8 I couldn't hardly walk. So I had to put my good laptop downstairs and my oldest one upstairs. Almost went and got a new one. My good one is getting kind of noisy and Costco has a really nice one on sale for 599. I am pretty OCD when it comes to these things. This computer get pretty hot but it still works good. I still like win10.. I don't think they considered people having 7 year old computers when they did the upgrade. My juice is still sitting in Frankfurt almost 2 weeks now. I think it has to do with the terrorism threats there. They are being really careful about shipments. Another busy day Ginny has to go to the Arthritis doctor and I have and appt with Hanger about my prosthetics. Sorry about getting so verbose.

Oh, I believe it! Soil can make or break a plant/tree.
