Not this morning. I need to get some lunch made before I crap out for the day. Making my Cold Chicken Ranch Pasta thing. I love this dish! Makes a huge bowl that we'll eat on for a week. It's great for pot luck dinners or things with a lot of people coming. You can leave the chicken out & it's a great side dish. Tis yum!
mmm sounds good :)

my name is don i'm jewels husband. i'm very very sorry to have to tell you that she passed away 6 months ago tomorrow. i'm sorry that i didn't let you know before now, i'm not very computer literate and this has just been so difficult for me. occasionally i will be checking in under her log in i'm also a vaper.
Don, I cannot overstate how marvelous it is that you navigated the computer complexities to respond under Jewels' ID and let us know the sad news. I want you to know how much we all loved Jewels! Please, if you have any inclination at all, make yourself completely at home here, whether that be under Jewels' name or if you sign up with your own ID!

Good morning, Porchers!

Anyone who posted a working link to the bad study, could you please break the link!!! Just leave a broken link with spaces in it so the rest of us can edit it if we really want to take a look.

ECF wants only broken links to old debunked garbage so the link won't come up in searches (or something like that).
This was a brand new article that was published over the weekend. It just quotes the bad study a few times. I think I'll leave it alone.

Arcane topic, but...

I have a low tolerance for video and audio being out of sync when watching TV. I recently got a Tivo receiver for my DirecTV, but find that the audio is more in sync if I connect it separately with RCA cables to my cheap low-quality surround-sound system rather than listening through the TV speakers via HDMI connection. HDMI is supposed to be the best-quality connection but in this case, the audio lag makes the RCA connection superior because of reduced lag.
I too have a DirectTV Tivo. Probably a bit older than yours. I believe there is an adjustment for that buried in the menus somewhere. Sorry but it's up in Virginia so I can't help more than that. I do know I didn't have to do anything to mine and it syncs perfectly. There may be an adjustment on your TV too. Probably in the advanced settings somewhere.

Received this from Myrany (which I think she intends for me to share):

'I am ok Life has just been stupid busy this summer with the death of my father in Law and trying to get my mother in law settled and back on the right track. Let everyone know I am fine and will make a return as soon as I can.'

I estimate this turkey burger to have a 10 to 12 oz weight after George Foremanning. Lots of basil and cinnamon. Might keep my hunger at bay through at least a couple US Open tennis matches this afternoon. Might not.

That is a strange thing to have happen. I have the new Genie and Mini Genie and have had no problems with lip-sink.

Don't sit so far away. Sound travels slower than light...
Hmm, I guess this is why some people may appear bright until they open their mouth and speak.

My oh my, grilled burgers sound good. I'll have to check if we have buns in the freezer. Real meat burgers not that healthy alternative gunk. :danger::)

With the move I'm going to have DirectTV switch me to the Genie system. Free. If you can't get what you want with them and have been a long time customer (say over 20 years) make sure you speak to "customer retention." They have much more authority to make "deals" to make sure you don't bail to one of the numerous competitors out there these days. I haven't talked to anyone else in around ten years cept for repairs and even then if the folks I talk to first piss me off. I like me some DirectTV and don't want to let a snotty service rep ruin the experience.
