My sister called me today to wish me Merry Christmas and see what I was doing for Christmas. She's probably going to be busy working anyway. But, she's lonely.

My daughter is out doing last minute shopping. The little dollar store stocking stuffers and some wrapping paper. She and the grandchildren are going out of town for Christmas Day.

I talked to my brother a little while ago. His daughter will probably come over for a few hours on Christmas. I told him I'ld come over as long as he's going to be home (if his daughter comes over instead of him going over there). I'm going to be home alone for Christmas otherwise.

Then, all hell will break loose the day after Christmas when my son and his family come down to visit. My son and his wife know everything. Just ask them. No, you don't even have to ask. But, I love them anyway. He's my first-born baby!

You said it was quiet in here.

Wanna hear more? o_O

RECIPEEEEEE!! [emoji51] [emoji51] [emoji51] [emoji51]

Are you sure you want it? This cake takes 2 days to make. Layers are made one day and the cake gets put together the next day. Then, when it's served there follows a whole discussion as to whether it's dry and should have had a thicker coating of filling. The dryness of the layers determine how much filling to
apply because the layers soak it up. I wish I'd been able to help Mom and Nana when they made the cake. So many questions. Then today a friend told me about Smith Island cakes. The recipe must have come over with some Germans because Mike's grandmother brought it with her when she came to the U.S. I'll PM you the recipe and you can decide. It's not hard to make, just labor intensive.

Oh my...I nearly forgot a personal along-the-lines-of-the Christmas-spirit that happened yesterday at the store.... but first a little background...'

a few weeks ago i was shopping in a super mart and I saw a youngish man with an adorable little girl in his arms, they were looking at some childrens DVD's...I heard him sorta mumble, " can't get it now baby"..and I'm thinking he means can't get it period, so I picked it up, caught up with him and handed it to him with the money to pay for it and said Merry Christmas. He was amazed...and happy, and so was the little girl.

Yesterday me n Chey were in the same supermart and I noticed a woman with the sharpest crotcheted hat n scarf combo..rich grey with an outline of a butterfly in Christmas gold and silver. Her friend was a short distance behind her but close to me so I got her attention and jokingly said," I love that womans hat...will you tell her I want it?" She walked fast up to the woman and told her what I said...the woman instantly removed the hat and tried to hand it to me! I was amazed but said that i was only kidding! She said," wWell I'm not", whipped off the matching scarf, said Merry Christmas and handed them both to me!!!

Ya ever seen a grown oldbroad walking thru a huge store with tears flowing?!!!

That's amazing! What a wonderful story! Yep, I do believe there are some incredibly wonderful people among us.

Haven't been around in a while, nice to see all the familiar faces and the new ones, too!
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hey, nice of you to stop by! Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you too!

Been vaping on 75% pg all day. With the harshness of it, I have only used 6 ml, compared to 12 ml usual consumption. But if I wake up in the morning without all that popping and crackling in my left ear, it will be worth it. Then the labor of remixing everything!

Yes, putting the primary offender on ignore seems to have resolved the situation. An apology from a minor participant this morning made me realize I was over-reacting.

I'll PM you the recipe and you can decide. It's not hard to make, just labor intensive.
Do I remember you making it last Christmas season?

I heard our weather was going to be warm for Christmas Day, but I'm in Louisiana. I'm used to it. Right now, it's raining cats, dogs, gorillas and bananas out right now. It's been doing this since before 1pm this afternoon. So, we're all sitting here looking at each other stupid again because only one copter flew today, and nothing broke. I have a few parts coming in on the truck tonight, and then, God say the same, I'm done for the rest of the week unless something happens and one of the birds freak out. I don't want to speak too loudly about this, or the Aviation gods might hear me and screw up all of our chit.

All inspections are done. Things are tidy. I'll probably have to put on my rain boots to open the gate for the parts truck. Our parking lot floods like a lake when it rains like this. Ah, the joys of island life.

Christmas memory 1994. My wife was stationed at Naval Reserve Center, Orange, TX. She volunteered me to be the Santa Clause for the Reserve Center Christmas Party. Before the party, she gave me the names of the kids and some little things about the families. When the kids came up I was able to ask them about things and call them by name. The kids and families were really impressed. I have to admit that I had a pretty good time myself. The next day, Sunday, while we were at church one of her friends mentioned that they had a pony they were boarding until Christmas for a neighbor's daughter. Long story short, I agreed to come over Christmas morning wearing the Santa Clause costume and deliver the pony. Needless to say, there was one really surprised 6-year-old girl that will never forget Santa gave her a pony for Christmas. Her folks didn't know about the arrangement and were really happy that I did it the way I did. The pony was saddled and ready to go. She came outside in her PJs and her mom told her she had to get dressed to ride the pony. 2 minutes later she was back out with her cowboy boots on with her PJs and a jacket. You just can't stop a determined 6-year-old.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we’ve no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Yea...right...

It's gonna be in the Mid 80's for Christmas here.
Hope there is sunscreen in my stocking !

Supposed to rain Christmas Eve & Christmas Day here.

Good for her don't feel bad. Doree won't let me do a lot of stuff since I got clumsy. Went up on the roof the other day with the roofer to inspect the job before paying him and you'd of thought I'd committed a cardinal sin.
You need a drone!
