Sounds to me that you were praying to be " a better person" for the benefit of others...so that's not being self-centered at all...everyone has the right to be a curmudgeon and even throw major fits now n then!
Tho of course I'm only speaking of others...I never do such things....
Although I tend to suffer with Holiday Melancholia every year, (and a good portion of the Regular Year as well ..) it is primarily the result of having not many, if any, to really share the Holiday Season with .. you see, I am no longer "blessed" with that "circle" .. sure, I have a few extended family members, I have quite a few friends (yes, it's true, I know some might wonder .. ) .. If you have a loving, caring Family, then is that not the greatest "Blessing" of all .. ?? I looked at some of the Family photos that had been previously posted and they made me both happy and sad all at the same time .. if that makes any sense .. .. treasure those people that put meaning in your own lives .. if you were gone, they would miss you deeply ..
(just for clarity, I use the term "blessing" in a non Sectarian way ..)
At any rate, I was inspired yesterday to create another message, this message deals with questions like "What if you suddenly found yourself with nothing .. out on the street, no Country, no Community, no Home .. and all you had left was your Family and sometimes not even that .. " .. I took excerpts from a piece I had read a few days ago that truly touched me .. and, yes, it could appear to be a Religious message, which would cause some that know me to say .. "This is Willie .. ?? " .. the soulless Heathen .. ?? Well, yes, contrary to what might be popular opinion, I do have a heart (I know it's there, trust me) ..
A long time ago, in a Thread Far Far Away .. I would periodically post something to the effect of "If you feel I am conspicuously lax in wishing those with physical or emotional issues a degree of digital solace thru the "Praying For You" avenue, you would be right .." However, it is not because I am a heartless ne're-do-well .. I care very much, in fact .. and during my moments of meditation, you can rest assured you are in my thoughts and well wishes .. truly, not just as a lip service .. whatever Force may or may not exist in our Universe, what little I can do to harness it that may or may not prove effective, I do my individual part .. sincerely and with much caring ..
The following, should you choose to listen to me drone and watch the images, are not my words nor my pictures .. it is just my voice .. if there is truly what is to be considered the Holiday Spirit, these few words express it better than I ever could .. a while back, I stated that I have always been a Fan of Jesus the Man, not the myth .. I know many disliked that and I understand why .. I have much more Faith based background than some know (which, in Threads Past, I have discussed) .. and I am still, very much so, a Fan of Jesus the Man .. should we all strive to be like Him .. and it's funny that about every language on Earth has it's unique Christmas greeting, don't you think .. ??

Wow talk about Christmas spirit. Like I've said before we hardly know anyone around here and we were trying to find someone to plow our driveway. I got to thinking our plumber knows everyone who does stuff around here and he's done a lot of plumbing stuff for me. I thought well I'll give him a call. I did and he said yeah I'll do it, I said about how much because he knows our driveway he said nothing I'll do it for free. I just about fell off my chair. This snow we go another 2-3" last night and it is frozen solid. Neither one of us can do it. We don't need to go anywhere but if we did the stuff at the end of the driveway that the grader pushed up is frozen solid and would tear up the under side of the car. Thank You Mark
