When he first showed up I thought he was the biggest ahole but, he's mellowed over time and now I like him. I think the Hillstrand brothers are the best and I absolutely hated the little drug addict.
He was a friggin' litte weasel in my book...glad...hope...he's gone! I couldn't stand Keith for the longest time, but he seems to have mellowed a bit, too.

OOps...wrong spot! i meant the scrawny weasel lookin doper, not Cpt. WildBill:confused:

Well, I see the young un's are out in force, so let me just say, that Post 45 (a 45 was a smaller size disk that held one song on each side and required an adapter for your turntable .. ;) .. for any that may be unfamiliar with the term ;)) .. my first actual album was "Chuck Berry Is on Top" which contained "Johnny B Goode", "Maybellene", "Roll Over Beethoven" and other nuggets .. another early album was Howlin’ Wolf (1962) which contained the roots of modern rock as popularized by Cream and the Stones : “Spoonful”, “Back Door Man”, “Wang Dang Doodle” and “Little Red Rooster” ..

My favorite early album has always been "The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan" which, although Dylan never stopped, this album I consider to be his most passionate ..

Then along came John, Paul, George and Ringo .. :)

Sure do miss her.

Miss mine too... Passed at a fairly young age - at least for her family... Fell down a flight of concrete stairs and was never the same after that - we took care of her for almost 10 years...

HeHe - that always reminds me of our dog - Duke - every time he heard the Duke of Earl song he would get in front of the speakers and howl with the song...:thumb::D

Phil, my only question is did Duke nail the harmony .. ?? ;)

Well darlins the first "records" I ever messed with were my dads old Big Band 78s when I was a kid. I still have a stack of those and 45s and LPs and even a few EPs from the 80s. My ancient Kenwood turntable is still going strong.

I really don't remember what my first album was probably one of the Partridge family albums when I was kid or maybe Cher's Dark Lady.

The changes in how we buys music over the years have led to some odd things. Like I now have owned Queen's A Night at the opera on 8 track, Lp, Cassette, CD and digital download. Yeah they and other bands have made some money from me over the years in rebuying stuff I had.

It was an all star lineup.....there were some others there as well, but I was very young.....and those are the ones I remember....;)

As I know you probably know .. ;) .. "back in the day" it was not uncommon for Promoters to Bundle Up multi Artists / Bands on Tour .. the acts played their most popular hits .. one tragic result of this practice was "The Day The Music Died" ..

Nope, don't have to do anything yet. Can't anyway, front door has about 4 foot of snow. In an emergency I could walk to daughter's, but she has a big strapping, young husband. We'll just stay cozied up inside! Even have a fireplace if the power goes down. Thanks for the well wishes!
oh good......stay safe and warm! Glad there's a big strappin feller close by as well should y'all need him.

43?!! It's flipping 81 degrees here today!!
38 now......Texas is a mess. 11 dead and 20 something injured in tornadoes about 2.5 hrs north of me, same blizzard in Amarillo that Misswish is dealing with. We were lucky, just big Tstorms one day and mostly wind yesterday. Now just cold. Gonna be lows in the 30's all week though, don't like that at all.

I do not like to watch people or anything suffer.
Too emphatic?
empathetic may have been the word you wuz lookin for.

Its 76 here.
Wow that's great, hope this other junk don't head your way.

eight to twelve inches predicted tomorrow. Early evening, two inches an hour expected.
that's crazy. At least your place doesn't take much to heat.

Wife and I enjoy them too. We lived in a cabin when we were younger, gravity flow water, kerosene lamps, wood heat, wild game... So even when there is a fakey scene we can pretty much fill in the blanks.
Hi all BTW, hope everyone is having a great Holiday season.
Howdy disall!! (reminds me of diesel) lol It's either that or darlin! Good to see ya. Never did all that but I have visited in homes with no indoor plumbing, but a pump at the kitchen sink and a big one out back.....also a place that originally had 2 coal stoves in Ohio, in the winter. In the late 70's a 100.00 worth of coal would heat the house all winter. later her kids put in wood burning stoves for her. She never had electricity til her kids grew up and put it in for her. This was my step mom's mom

Hope the foot Dr appt and possible surgery all goes well. Not glad for the surgery, but glad you'll have some down time to visit with us, we miss folks when they aint here.

I would not have wanted to be his kids. I can hear him at bedtime, "if you kids don't shut up and go to sleep, I'm going to come up there and tell you a story!" "No daddy, we'll go to sleep!

It's been quite a while since I posted on ECF, got a lot of catching up to do... so figured I'd start with the Back Porch.
Speakin of missin folks when they aint here!! Welcome back!! Hope everything's been going well for you!!

Jup, just cuz we're relatively young, don't mean we don't know stuff. Heck I was still buying 45's in the 70's. I also started out with some of my dad's 78's. He had an "album" that held, I dunno, maybe 10 78's in it, then had some others that wouldn't fit in there. Lost all my vinyl when my dad sold his house. Folks said he could leave some stuff there for a month or two instead of putting it in storage. He trusted em, neighbor told him a week later they had a yard sale and sold it all, including all his power tools.

Well my friends....I'm off to a long hot bubble bath and then a little nappypoo....n I don't care if it's the middle of the day:p
well poop, missed ya by that much
