I sent her an invite in case she's on her phone, but if she's at the hospital, she may not be allowed to have the phone on, if they have heart patients with pacemakers in that area. She hasn't responded. But gracie, scott, yiddle and I are in there, put some britches on and come on inLemme know if she shows up...

OMG! All my prayers. No matter the lack of emoticons-- I know you put all your heart into that post-- I can feel it. Just remember how much more they can do now than thirty years ago when my father had a stroke.Time for another chapter of My Life, Outside the Nut.Time and days are not important and I haven't had a chance to google all the new words that have been added to my vocabulary but, he woke up to go tinkle and was totally blind in one eye. ....
Thank you so much for your prayers, good thoughts and support.

Wow, Tory, you have really been thru it! Praying for you both! I totally understand mulish parents. I went thru this with my mother 7 years ago. Hang in there, & let him know prayers are being made.Time for another chapter of My Life, Outside the Nut.Time and days are not important and I haven't had a chance to google all the new words that have been added to my vocabulary but, he woke up to go tinkle and was totally blind in one eye. The light started coming back but it took a couple of hours. He did not wake me up or tell me about it till the next morning. And that is when the git-r-done panties had to come out just as Superman puts on his cape or Wonder Woman gets her whip (I like her). He got mad at me but I called his cardiologist who made him go to the ER for a couple of tests. They did scans and bloodwork and heart stuff and was told to check with his eye doctor the next day that everything looked fine. They called it a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack) and said it was like a little stroke of the eye. They discharged him and he drove us to get some BBQ (which we took home). We ate. He came to the kitchen and with just one look, I could tell he was having a full blown stroke. I walked to the table to get my phone so I could call 911 but did not think quick enough to sit him down. (but I can't open pickle jars by myself so he would have fallen anyway, but i could have made a softer landing for him). So he fell and hit right side of his face against I am assuming the counter. You know how bad face wounds bleed so just imagine a scene from CSI or Dexter.
They said I could ride with them and then they said they preferred I drive. I told them I had no business driving with my blood pressure as low as it was (a whole other story) but I could not make them listen so I somehow made it to the hospital with my usual Nascar flair.
He had a large blood clot on the side of his brain (I think) and procedure I had never heard of (yet) that I had to authorize, which I did of course and it was successful. Because of the time frame they were able to give him TMP which is to help. Soon after, it is my understanding that he had a reaction to the TMP and was bleeding. I watch them give him two pints of blood. He started swelling in different places. There were a bunch of people for a good while doing there thing in a motion that almost reminded me of waves. When one moved the next would do something. I was grateful that they let me be there. I can handle that much better than in the waiting room.
I am trying very hard not to blame myself. We even got into a couple of heated discussions over him digging up stumps with an ax in 90 some degree weather. Please understand, that I can only do so much when dealing with a mule.
Like Kay posted, (big hug) he is doing better but we will have to see how long he has to be this way. When they remove that (respirator), we will be able to see what damage the stroke has done but I am very optimistic judging from how hard each hand can squeeze my hand. The man may be a mule, but he is an ox also.
I hope this clarifies everything and I must apologize for the lack of emoticons in my post. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Thank you so much for your prayers, good thoughts and support.
LOVE YOU ALL
