Tory, you could not prevent what happened and fortunately you were there to do something about it right away. Prayers, strength and hugs coming your way.

Pepper, I love lamb! And I agree, it's one of those love it or hate it meats. My Mom always made leg of lamb for Easter dinner. I have continued that tradition with my family. And lamb chops when we can find good ones. With sautéed asparagus with butter and garlic. Oh well, this week on Cape Cod it's fresh lobster. The sacrafices we must make... ;)

You poor soul. lol Having to live the low life of lobster. I hope and see you are enjoying yourself, as I am. I love asparagus, but my favorite way is to baste it with garlic and olive oil on da grill. The seafood here has been tremendous. Be well.:)

Torey don't you dare feel bad, you're doing so much to take care of him.........he's gonna do what he's gonna do as far as the work around there, and from the little I know of your dad, I'm pretty sure he'd rather drop dead pullin out a tree stump, than to sit in a chair and do nothing. That would make him crazy. You're doing a great job taking care of him, but you can only do what he'll let you do sweetie!!

All this talk of food. I sure am glad I am not on a diet. LOL I decided earlier to put on a pot of soup. That is one reason I love Fall and Winter with the cooler temps. I love soups. I made a big pot Minestrone with a double batch of cornbread. My daughter does not like ground beef so I used some Blue and Gold Sausage instead. Yum, looking forward to leftovers tomorrow.

Tory, You are doing a very good job as a daughter. Your dad is old-school and will keep trying to do what he can, and will not complain about any pain.
Like my dad does. I will see him bent over and grimacing, and ask if everything is ok, and he will straighten up, smile and say there is nothing wrong at all.
I'm glad you were there to help him out, and glad your hubby was there to help YOU out!

Well, folks, I'm still sitting at home....for the moment. After I left the HO, my body said, "Girl, go lay down." For once, I listened. It's now a little after 3 am. I may be out of here by 5am. I'm not rushing. Sleep just happened to take precedence over everything else. I have until 3:30 this afternoon to get there anyway. :pervy: I just like to avoid the traffic. Oh well, even the best laid plans of mice and men and all that stuff.

I do have to say this before I get up and get moving. Blessed was the day that I found this place. I couldn't ask for a better bunch of people to hang out with. Please accept a HUGE hug from me to each and every one of you!!!

O my, a bull barrel Ruger, sexy
Speaking of girls with guns, this younger woman has been a friend of mine for 20 years or so. Heck, her mom, who is also a friend, is a younger woman compared to me. Anyway, I think this pic is very sexy.

I know exactly what you mean. I made it clear to his nurse that if he says he is in any kind of pain, she better call a code blue or something because it's serious. I must of inherited a pretty high tolerance for pain also but. . . sheesh!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone here for your love and support. A special thank you to all on Hangouts yesterday and last night. Y'all reminded me how of just how lucky a girl I really am. It was so nice to laugh.

That helps me more than you will ever know.

I got some much needed sleep and called dad's nurse first thing. He is still alert and responsive and the swelling continues to go down. I just feel good about everything well enough to give myself a little TLC. I will check in when I can and let you know how we are doing. I just wanted to you all to know that. . . I truly have the best "family" in the world.

What he said x 1,000...
From me too. I will keep you both in my prayers. Torey, Don't forget yourself. Take a little me time each day. Makes it much easier to keep up what you have to. Hope Dad is better everyday. My brother, Steve had a stroke about a year ago but, wasn't as lucky and didn't get the hospital in time to prevent damage. You did good. Recognizing the symptoms and reacting.

((((((ROTO))))))!!!!! [emoji8] [emoji8] [emoji8] [emoji8] [emoji8] [emoji8] [emoji8] Rest when your body tells you to. Things don't have to be 90mph, 24/7. They may try to be all that but you are in control. It's ok to take a real day off!
