Wow, way cheap on regular, that looks like a dollar and a dollar 10 cents higher than regular, but that can't be right.

It was right there on the sign & pumps. Huge difference. And it's Valero gas which is Top Tier rated. So...yup.

This is the first time I have gotten a chance to update y'all. Today I learned a new word.

D E L I R I U M - an acutely disturbed state of mind that occurs in fever, intoxication, and other disorders and is characterized by restlessness, illusions, and incoherence of thought and speech.

What it really means is holding a man in bed for 8 hours and letting him hit and kick you.

Third day of running fever and has developed pneumonia in his left lung. They could not take out the tubes because the swelling still has not come down enough. (swelling from reaction to TPA)

Funny when he is resting peacefully, they make me leave the room and follow their rules but nooooooooo today I grabbed my bags and they said it was no problem for me to stay. So after 8 hours I told them I could not do it any longer. They then decided to give him a sedative and he looks like a baby right now. (maybe because of his mittens)

But looking on the bright side (I always try to) the nurse made some homemade chicken-n-dumplings and brought me 2 bowls because she said I had helped her so much. They were the best I had ever put in my mouth. I told her I would pick her dumplings over sex any day of the week. (and I meant it)

I need a hug. . . where's Iffy????
Oh, ((((Tory))))!!!!! I'm so sorry you & your Dad are going thru this. Why did they let it go on so long? 8 hours? And he's recovering from a stroke? Something doesn't seem right about that. Couldn't they have done something to help him get calm?

Dear members:

The very first thread -- or post I ever read here before joining was a post written by Txtumbleweed. Sorry I am off topic in your thread. I just wanted to let people know that what is written here changed the course of my life that day. It was back in 2010 or 2011 and then I quit and have not had a cigarette in four and a half years. I had been a marathon smoker, too. About three packs a day. One person really can change the world for the better. I am able to breathe again without wheezing. I bet I have saved over 16 thousand dollars. But my health! I could never place a number on that. I wish I could thank him.

Welcome to the porch! We talk about any & everything here, and Randall is always at the top of the list. Congrats on 4 1/2 years, wonderful!

We miss you too darlin..........sure hope the wi-fi isn't out for good due to cutbacks. Hope your job will stay safe even if you have to transfer or something. smart move (on a number of levels) to offer the aging pilots a retirement package. Can't wait til you're home again!! We love you checking in, but don't run up a huge bill using your phone as a hot spot. Tell the pilots to whine a lot!! I'm sure there are things they can cut besides wi-fi that will make a much bigger financial impact! lol

Heh Heh, I whined this evening to the lead pilot at supper. When I came in this afternoon, I discovered that the pilots had WiFi, we we still didn't. I unabashedly whined to him at the dinner table about it. Of course, the way they like to pick on me, he told me it was all right for THEM to have it, but not us. I just gave him my hand. Funny thing is, when I got back from supper, WiFi was up again. LOL

Roto, got my fingers crossed for your job. I gotta say though, I've heard of several people who got laid off and thought it was the end of the world only to find an even better job. Some even said it ended up being the best thing that happened to them. All you can do is take one day at a time and keep your eyes open for opportunities.

You know, Janet, I can't actually say I'm super worried. I'm just being extremely cautious right now in the finance department. I already know if this company we're contracted out to tanks, they'll probably move me somewhere else. I've put it all in God's hands.

I need a hug. . . where's Iffy????

AW, AW!! BIG HUG on its way to you and more prayers and more prayers and more prayers!!

It's amazing how much work gets done when my internet is down! Well, work AND sleeping.

We miss you too!

I got a lot of work done in my General Hardware cabinet, but I HAD to take a break tonight!! The mess in there is driving me up the wall!! It's coming along, but my opposite's lack of logic makes me want to do things.........AH....it will be all right.

It was right there on the sign & pumps. Huge difference. And it's Valero gas which is Top Tier rated. So...yup.

I will NEVER (never say never) put another tank of Valero gas in my car. I got a bad tank at a local station one time, and poor baby Blue backfired hard in the middle of the Interstate Highway and then refused to go any more even though I had the pedal to the medal. I had to pull over on the side of the highway. I undid the top on my gas tank, put it back on, and tried to start the car. She turned over well, but I could tell there was trash in the line. I finally got her started, blew the bad stuff out of the line like a demon, and made my way home. I blew a sensor that day. Nope....no more Valero for me!!

Continued thoughts and prayers, Rat. DO keep up your own strength and health, you'll be no good for your Dad if you're sick!

As said already, several times, you just did. And can continue to do so by spreading the word :)

That would have been a problem with the particular station's tanks, not the fuel itself. Around here it's common to see the same tank truck delivering to most of the major and all the minor brands... so maybe avoid that roll-e-um station?

Glad you got your wifi back! That would be so hard to go without!

Trash in the gas is a problem with the station's tanks, not the gas going into them. I'd avoid that station. Valero is actually really good graded gas. They are one of the Top Tier fuels.

I think I'm done for the night in the General Hardware cabinet. My office is a hot mess right now, but that's the only way I'm going to get this cabinet in tip top shape. How someone can move parts around and not put the correct part numbers is beyond my understanding. I was getting frustrated, so that's my stopping point. Now I'm just waiting on my parts truck. We didn't get one last night. An 18 wheeler overturned on the elevated bridge and traffic couldn't get through. That's the only sticking point about being down here. There's only one way in and one way out and it's all two lane.

Did they give him any steroids to reduce the swelling post procedure?

He only had half the dose of TPA before the swelling started and they said they had to give him something to reverse it, so it could have been steroids but at the time. . . I didn't care what they gave him. But you are right, it is scary.

{{{{BIG HUG}}}} You are an amazing daughter and I am proud to call you my friend.

Thank you. The love and support you find on the porch is what is truly amazing, not me. Everyone knows I'm just "adorable".

I have been finishing up my stuffed animals for Fall Fest all today and yesterday, so that one really struck my fancy.

Reminds me of being stationed in Key West. I don't if they've widened the Overseas Highway but in 1980 it was two lanes all the way to Homestead, Florida. Kinda scary if we'd ever had to evacuate. Luckily never did.

Valero is actually really good graded gas. They are one of the Top Tier fuels.
I had to look that up. Sounded like an in-house self-promotion-type thing, which it sort of is and sort of isn't. It's a level of detergent in the gasoline which is much higher than the minimum amount of detergent required by the EPA. The thing about it that bothers me is that gasoline companies have to pay annual fees for the "Top Tier" label, in addition to proving that all the gas sold by the company meets the higher detergent minimum.

According to Wikipedia: "In the U.S, Aloha Petroleum, ARCO, Beacon, BP,Costco Wholesale, CountryMark, Diamond Shamrock, Express Convenience Centres, Exxon, Hawaii Fuelling Network (HFN), Holiday Stationstores, Mobil, Ohana Fuels, Shamrock, Sinclair,Suncor Energy Inc, SuperAmerica, Texaco, Tri-Par Oil Company, and Valero now offer TOP TIER gasoline."
