Dad mentioned that he wanted one of those toilet extender thingamagigs so of course, the good daughter that I am, went to Walmart at soon as he went to sleep last night. Remember Edith Anne? That's what I look like on the toilet with my feet dangling off the ground. bahahahahaha

You also might want to see about getting the arms that can fit on the toilet. I put a set on ours when my mom came to visit. They gave her just what she needed to stand back up.

I just got back from the groomers with my little Chiquita. The groomer noticed fleas, so tomorrow I get to bomb the house. Glad I have everything to do it.

I didn't realize until seeing your pictures that the istick mini had a top-mounted display screen. What is the 80 that's showing? Is that 8.0 watts?

Edit: is that a percent sign? If so I'm guessing that's remaining battery?

What do you use? My BIL called me from the house down south saying it's infested with fleas since we left. They get fierce after you take the animals out of the equation.

Smart Cars tickle your .... We rented a 2015 Chevy Tahoe while out in Colorado. I found out that if you switch lanes w/o using the turn signal either the left 1/2 or right 1/2 of the seat vibrated. I suppose it's a safety feature to alert you if you're drifting out of your lane.

But ... I found my self switching lanes w/o using the turn signal ... just because it felt good.

Hate the new car keys. Need a wheelbarrow to haul em around.
Love the old ones. U kin carry a spare key in yer wallet. Why is it, in order to make things "better", they gotta make em worse?

Oh wow ... totally forgot I used to carry a spare key in my wallet. Too often in the winter leaving work if it had snowed ... I'd first start the car before clearing off the windshield ... yep more than once I locked myself out of the car.

I'm trying to get started in temperature control but, can't figure out what temperature to set the darn thing at. Anybody know what temp rayon wick burns at?

Matt, I set mine to 410F @ 14watts using a nickel coil with rayon wick.

On Car Tech .. it seems to me, the Car Makers are simply responding to what the New Car Buying Populace wants .. these days, when so many folks can't live without being continually connected to this Facebook or that Twitter, et al .. and, let's not let little Wheezer in the back seat not be able to stream some Netflix, and, who at 7, has their own Social Media pages, a Blog, is working on becoming the Next YouTube sensation .. and a Smart Phone .. ;)

As each new Generation comes up the line, things get ratcheted up a notch or three .. I guess that's why we don't drive Model T's anymore .. ;) .. would I advocate for a self driving car .. ?? Well, yes .. in fact, when they become readily available, it should be a required mode of transport for the Woman that passed me on the Freeway the other day doing at least 85, while yakking on her phone, eating a Big Mac and checking her look in the rear view .. ;) .. as her child in the back seat was waving a tablet around, likely screaming that the Candy Crush page was loading too slow .. oh, the Humanity ..

At any rate, I know I'm in the minority, so I'm not going to talk any further about something I don't really care about and certainly have no control over .. ;) .. but, I will, once again, put all of you to sleep with another brief installment of musical rambling from Days Long Past .. if any (and I know it's a long shot) remember my last ramble, it dealt with the musical "stew" that simmered Zydeco / Texas Swing / Country / Polka / Mexican / Conjunto / Mariachi ..

Today, my mind drifts back to the 1960's and the evolution of what came to be known as Country Rock, evolving thru The Byrds and on to the Eagles, Pure Prairie League, Poco and sparking what later became called Southern Rock .. why .. ?? A few nights ago, I found myself expounding over Pre-World War II Martin Dreadnaught Acoustic Guitars and why they are the Holy Grail to some players .. and then my mind drifted into what role a 1935 Martin had in the hands of a guy most folks these days never heard of .. Clarence White .. who, I believe, is the nexus / epicenter of a large portion of what music many of us enjoyed in the late 1960's & 1970's .. Clarence White was at 29, tragically, killed by a drunk driver .. he was also a good friend of Gram Parsons, who died at 26 from a drug and alcohol overdose (Parsons is a whole story within itself) ..

At 29, Clarence White, IMO, had achieved Jimi Hendrix ability as an acoustic flat picker as well as being an absolute master of the Fender Telecaster, actually helping invent a modification that is still used today called the B-Bender .. however, his old Martin D-28 is the stuff of Musical Legend, where some believe, White's spirit still resides .. by the age of 10, he had effectively begun melding Bluegrass, Traditional Country, Django Reinhardt Jazz and Gypsy stylings, Folk music going back to the Weavers .. and, outside of his time in The Byrds, helped craft music that is part of our fabric, as a session player, in many cases, uncredited .. "Lay Lady Lay", "Jesus is Just Alright", early Linda Ronstadt, Arlo Guthrie, Joe Cocker, Randy Newman, Delaney & Bonnie, Jackson Browne, Everly Brothers, and many, many more .. an incredible feat for a guy that only lived 29 short years ..

So, today, a tip of the hat to Clarence White and that old Martin .. which, IMO, led to much of the richness and vibrancy of the Music we continue to enjoy today .. sadly, not many really high quality recordings of White's early picking exist, so I'll just try and do my best to represent .. and he did use the Martin throughout his short career ..

Good post UW. Nope, can't say I ever heard is name ... but sure would like to hear more of his music. Pairing w/ Ry Cooder was a treat ... Cooder is one of my all time favs to listen to.

You can get an idea of that Legendary Martin here .. by Tony Rice, who I believe is still the current owner ..

What a treat to wake up and find that music!! Thank you Willie......

To expand on da flee powder. Few years back, before their advantix treatment they discovered a flea factory. Of course since they're really sociable, they invited them in. They got the advantix and the only thing in the house without fleas wuz them!
Just powder stuff, let it sit a while (hourish?), vacuum off. Veddy zimple, veddy eee see.

Don't know about anyone else's experiences, but......I always found flea/tick infestation prevention better and safer over all than using the cure. south Jersey is infested with the nasty little things, but my pets were always treated with advantage or advantix and I never had a problem with them infesting my house....;)

Never seen that but looks exactly like he would like. He's not sure about the thing he has and I've already decided I don't like it.

so much. I will show it to him when he gets up. I have to go there anyway to return some thickener stuff.

The Raid, is it a bomb you set off in the house or a spray? I'm wondering if there are "fumigation" type bombs you can set off in the closed up house that will take care of the problem. The dog slept in the bed with us while we were there and I'd like to make sure that all areas are treated.

I had forgotten how fierce the Florida fleas can be. We used to call them "nuclear irradiated fleas from hell!" Hardy little buggers. Very difficult to get rid of. Mom had Orkin to the house monthly and would treat the yard with borax.
