May the Lord grant that her remaining days are filled with love and a hope for a bright awakening. May He grant your and your wife serenity and loving kindness in the knowledge that Doree's mom is in his arms at the end even as he has walked beside her all her days.
Amen.
I have not caught up this morning but read this and just had to comment. Perfect Ken. Amen.

Off topic question for the girls.

Ok you're involved with someone and one night you go out to a graduation.
Then when you get back you message the other person and ask them how their night went.

Their reply is - You're the one who should be telling me how your evening and others went.

They had not done anything that night and were more interested in what you had done.

How would you take such a reply ,, as being controlling and thinking the other person wants you to report back to them ?

Get upset that the other person didn't say how their evening had been ?
Sounds like the other person wants you to be more communicative

Trump for Prez. I like the idea of keeping all Muslims out. I was listening to a talk radio thingy today and Sweden is taking in so many it's crazy. Everything is free for them according to this guy and of course I can't think of his name I think it is something Beck. Known for being a radical. According to him they are going to take in 90K more by the end of the year. They went from the lowest in the world for rapes to the rape capital of the world. He said 1 in 4 woman there have been raped. I say keep them all out. There are good ones and really bad ones problem is you can't tell the diff till it is too late.
Glen Beck maybe? Yep about as far right as you can get. I'm on the right but, not quite as far as he and Rush are.

Stand by while all my circuit boards start firing...

Ok, we're good - depends on the interpretation - with the way it's worded, it did sound kind of controlling. That's why I suggest you two talk - over the phone. The way ones voice sounds makes a huge difference, and unfortunately... texts are unsympathetic, lacking any empathy, and can be... for all intents and purposes... unforgiving. Keep in mind - this is coming from a guy... believe me... I've had my fair share of this and that and relationship problems. Been married and divorced. And it only took 4 years. It was for the best though - as neither one of us knew how to relay information (communicate properly) between each other. And the way everybody communicates with one another makes all the difference.

Paranoid and jealous. Bad combo. Trust is the big issue here. Do you really want to post your itinerary every time you run out to the convenience store?

Messaging? Guys... yer "messaging". That's like a whole different world. How many here got their undies in a bunch over a post? Some throw flames, some sit back and sulk. Thing is, if you sit back and sulk you find out a couple posts or pages later... YOU interpreted it wrong. Or the poster COULD have stated it differently.

In a nutshell, texting ain't talking. Different language that is easily mis-understood. Too easily mis-understood.

That's what we call "Red Flag" behavior. Actually - to me that would be black flag - resulting in a "I'm sorry, but the person that you were with has just evacuated the area and wishes you the best of luck in your future..."

Paranoia and jealousy... I really don't know how to quite pick that one apart. Are they paranoid because of past experiences? Are they naturally jealous? Might be a bad combo - sure - but everything has a circumstance. Jealousy is a big indicator of a dominant behavior. A person who is jealous of one thing or another in a relationship is a black flag issue as well. 99% of the times - its unreasonable and irrational jealousy. As far as paranoia - if it's out of control - can result in devastating consequences and put a serious damper on any relationship.

If she's paranoid because of you however... although understandable... SEE ABOVE.

Yeah I read it - which is why I responded the way I did. I suggested calling. A lot more can be done via VERBAL communication vs texting. Texting is very... unemotional.

Ok ladies

That was said the wrong way around.

You the girl went out to a graduation- daughters at school. - I a guy stayed home. Distance between you is like 400 miles.

When girl came home she asked How was my evening and I said -"You're the one who should be telling me how your evening and others went".-

Because to me I did nothing and was more interested in what happened in their evening.

Is that me being controlling and wanting them to report back to me ?
I don't think so, depends on tone of voice and such but, sounds to me like an interest in how her evening at the graduation went. I would have to know a bit more to really say.

Neither, take it as a sincere interest with no ulterior motive. Just say it was nice, & ask her how hers was, then move on the conversation.

I wouldn't think anything of it, not unless I already knew the person was a controlling type.

Regardless of my general prohibition on Political / Religious Commentary, there are times when I'm compelled ..

I firmly believe the upcoming Presidential Election will be the most important in the last 100 years .. and, in Lincolns words : "a house divided against itself cannot stand" .. and that the crisis would pass only when the House divided "become all one thing or all the other."

Many, if not all, of us that gather here, are of an age that sometimes precludes looking farther into the future, since, admittedly, many, such as myself, are closer to the end than the beginning .. in this case, we must look past what our remaining lifetimes hold and vote for what we want America to look like for the next generations ..

I will not comment on any Party, nor any Candidate, however, there are those that would continue to divide us as a Nation, because that's what they want .. the constant in fighting that has almost driven us into a caste system of factions and special interests, thus camouflaging the real issues we face going forward ..

As we approach 2016, the cultural Revolution that began as many of us were still in our youth has become strong .. it is even substantially different than it was just 20 years ago .. Facts : the majority of US Households are headed by unmarried people, two thirds of Women are either the only earners in a household or co-earners, minorities comprise close to 40% of our populace, 65% of Americans consider gay relations, out of wedlock births and divorce as morally acceptable ..

Don't cast your vote based on fear, or a single issue .. consider the whole .. give some study to the real issues and who could best handle them .. because, IMO, we are headed to a tipping point that could either nurture the idea of America or take it down a dark road ..

Shouldn't we be moving????

I'm still wearing big girl panties and RL is just taking most of my time. I have never been this far behind on the porch and I just can't seem to get caught up. I have missed everyone. Can't seem to find anyone in Hangouts lately. Miss you too.

Willie, I have started my new interest and although I am a slow learner, I really like the guitar so far. I can only practice for a little while each day and I think it will be easier when when my fingers toughen just a wee bit.

I was warned and prepared for this. I already have 3 people that said they would give me free lessons. I may have to take them up on their offer but right now, I am just enjoying the "getaway".

It's become "vote for the shinier of two turds" or "lesser of two evils". I still vote, and although my candidates never win... proves that it's not who's right or who's wrong - it's about money. Purely profit. And those that can generate the larger profit from funding, can afford to call the shots, and knock the others out of the game.

And Abraham Lincoln was right - the house is divided... and it is starting to fall. I have plenty of life left in me and I may witness it's complete collapse - and for that, I'm kind of afraid. Not for me, but for my kids' sake and safety, as they're the ones that are going to be left behind to pick up the pieces.
