Must have been a busy night in the hangout. Only took me 2 minutes to catch up on the overnight posting. Good morning everyone. Today is Mile's first birthday and we get to babysit him today. We 'sat' him yesterday too ... poor little guy has a bad cold But he seems to be a trooper, once the baby tylenol kicks in you wouldn't know he was sick.

Poor guy to be sick on his birthday, but Happy Birthday Miles!

aah. so they're doing a tiny bit of what everyone else has been doing for years. google, FB, ECF, everyone's ISP, et al.

no biggie. anyone who thinks internet privacy is a reality is living in the distant past. i retired 6 years ago, but before that, i was in charge of a software engineering group that spent a considerable amount of time cracking "internet privacy". it was a joke then, and i'm sure even more now.

the idea that MS (alone) gives info to the government is laughable, however. these multi-national corporations only give stuff to the government when forced to. otherwise, their stock price would sink.

Yes .. if you go online at all, you're being tracked unless you are using a good VPN (which can be had relatively inexpensively) or if you use TOR as a browser .. in addition, your cell phone GPS is tracking you at all times .. Big Brother became a reality some time back .. Google and the rest of the Gang has to pay for all that "free" stuff like browsers, Android, etc .. and they do it by selling data ..

If anyone is really bothered by this reality, then ..

Of course there isn't! Because it's taking money from big pharma - which is costing them millions, if not BILLIONS of dollars in empty research costs to develop the next "SMOKING CESSATION PRODUCT!", which is therefor taking money out of people's pockets that have invested in them. All in all, people are losing money and their feelers are getting hurt by it. So I, Mr. Weaver, suggest they invest in a mighty dose of Preparation H for their ....-hurt.

I will no longer support the "anti-vaping" movement (nor have I ever supported them) for one simple reason and one reason only. From my experiences - the gums didn't work, the patches didn't work, the Chantix runs a risk of suicide (SEE MORE ON THIS BELOW), and hypnotizing...? What? Is that even LEGAL?!

As for Chantix - this is one of those drugs that are worse than the disease it's trying to cure. I got it... some drugs have side effects... but suicidal tendencies is not a "side effect" that I or anyone else in their right mind should want to play with or experience.

Do a little research on the tobacco settlement and you will know why vaping is such a big target. The amount the states get is directly related to cigarette sales and therefore it is in the states best interest to have as few people quit as possible or at least that is my understanding of it.

This weather is just crazy. 50 degrees here beautiful out by this afternoon we are supposed to have Thunderstorms with winds to 55. By Monday the temp is supposed to be down to 19. Things are changing a lot faster then we have been told they would.

It's 75 degrees here with a cool breeze off the ocean. It did rain pretty good the last few days but it's sunny today. Jealousy is acceptable. I am really beginning to understand the appeal of this place. Not so much in the middle of the summer where it's 99 in the shade at nearly 100% humidity but this time of year it's absolutely beautiful.

The sad part on that ended up being, the Settlement was designed to defray health care costs as it related to tobacco as well as further education for the Youth .. how many States do you think have actually used the money for it's original intent .. ??

Morning Gracie! Having a great day today. Today I am installing a new kitchen sink with garbage disposal. Got the new one all prepped and now to removing the old one. After that it's rerouting this plumbing nightmare underneath em. Sawzall will help with that of course!

Hope ya do better than I do with plumbing. Past projects seemed to require a minimum of two return trips to da plumbing aisles.

My post was primarily written in order to offer up a suggestion to any that wish to retain a degree of privacy, not to re-state the obvious .. and, I turn the GPS in my phone off, because it's nobodies business where I am ..

As an addendum to the phone GPS issue, don't be surprised when the day comes that you're walking down the isle at the local Walmart and you get a text from Walmart offering you a discount on that box of Widgets you just picked up if you buy it now ..

I keep mine turned off also! Yeah I heard about the stores getting snoopy also.
