We got that and just about crapped ourselves. My bill for 3 weeks in ICU and a week in a normal room was ONLY $240,000 That was just the hospital not the 10 different doctors I saw or all the tests they did or the amputations but comparatively that wasn't bad. I was really glad I had great insurance since I was still employed at the time.
1 ay in the ICU and 5 days in a regular room after my lung cancer surgery. Including the surgeon and all the idiots that walked by and looked in the total cost was almost $300,000. My part was $50. At the time I was using Aetna from where my wife worked as primary and TriCare from being retired navy as secondary. In that situation TriCare picks up 100% of the copay. They're still getting off cheapet than if they were primary. I'm not sure where the $50 came from. ;)

Colonoscopy comment :: The topic, weirdly enough, has come up fairly regularly on the thread since the Big Bang .. ;) .. I suppose it's not that unusual given many of our ages .. at any rate, since I came up "clean" (no pun intended) a few times, now my DR gives me the "Mail Your Poop To The Lab" kit .. where, I'm sure, a dedicated team of medical Professionals studies in depth the contents of the "packet", with a ribald debate between the team on whatever .. ;) ..

My DR believes it is an effective test ::

Dreading a Colonoscopy? Other Tests Are Just as Effective for Colon Cancer

You just don't know what's traveling thru the Mail System these days .. ;)

Very interesting link. Thanks for posting! I think I like your doc better than mine!

yes,, smokers tax washed over to the vapers,,,,,but the junkfood people with their diabetes, high bp, clogged arteries, arthritis and whatever else haven't paid their taxes....its easy to blame smokers for everything.......but once more people vape than smoke and dont seem to have any health problems,,,,,,,,somebody got some 'splaining' to do.

food stamps shouldn't be allowed to be used for any junkfood,, but it is.. imho,, and i may be wrong,, but the poor make the worst food choices,,,,,,,,,,its time to help them target healthier food choices.

There are many wealthy people who love their junk food and enjoy poor diets. Many people make the wrong food choices, but often it's because they don't care or because they just don't know that potato chips and Twinkies are not healthy. I don't know how to make people care and evidently our education system and public information is not effective enough. Maybe the government should simply outlaw unhealthy food. Just take poor choices away. While they're at it, require people to prove that they get regular exercise and follow the medical recommendations of their doctors. Where does it end?

It used to be that anyone using food stamps ran up a tab and at some point were supposed to pay it back. That requirement got eliminated so there's no incentive not to waste them on junk food or use them for expensive food the rest of us can't afford.

Ken, if that HD still spins up and, as you said, runs chkdsk... then your files are still on it, intact... and they can be copied off somehow. Even if it won't boot into Windoze.
Docking stationz kin be handy. ;)

Personally, I believe the "Mail Man Colonoscopy" .. (that, er, just does not seem to sound right .. ;)) .. is pretty effective in it's goal .. and, if a hint of an issue is found, it's off to the Snake Man .. ;)

I have read of Municipalities outlawing certain foods .. Foie gras, anyone .. ?? ;) .. and large soda drinks .. I don't think bans are effective, people are gonna do what they are gonna do .. I do remember, unless I've lost more Brain cells, that initially, the Government Food Stamp / Card program was limited to a list of foods that qualified .. of course, I also seem to remember "Government Cheese", as in real cheese, not money .. ;)

Hi all! I haven't forgot you. I see most of you on FB from time to time. But I have a hard time getting free from other duties at the keyboard these days. Got the audio book up of Naked Alliances if anyone is interested. Steven Barnett did a fantastic job narrating. Just had a 99 cent promo thru ENT and made top#25 in three categories...lol...for a day...lol. The book is still 99 cents if you're thinking about it.

But that's not why I popped in. I've converted a smoker to vaping but he's not satisfied with any juices he can get around here. He was a heavy cigar smoker. He ordered some 24% from a local store but he really doesn't like the flavor. I don't smoke tobacco flavors, so I don't know the best to recommend. I've heard Mount Baker Vapor has the best, but I don't know which one to get for a cigar smoker. He's also discouraged about the draw on his pen, so I was going to turn him onto the Nautilus as it gives a good cloud. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah and I remember a lot of people back in the day selling them for drugs or booze. That was before they wised up and made identification mandatory.

I don't know what RY4 is. I had a bottle that I gave to my son-in-law, but he didn't vape but a day or two. Claims everything is too harsh on his throat. I've heard an Ry4 is best for cigar smokers.

I think the true RY4 was a Chinese flavor RY stood for Ruyen as I remember and I think it was the 4th attempt at making it. I have had some good and some not but I can't remember the original Chinese company that sold it. Some one should remember that. Mike and Janet gave me a recipe that was probably about as far from real RY4 as they come but I loved it. Vaped only that for almost a year. Been thinking about making somemore since I purposly omitted the flavors from my package I sent to DH. All I have to do is make it. I remember it took like 25% flavoring used TFA flavors so you guys know how their flavors or some of them are weak and need a lot. I ordered some of the original stuff and didn't really care for it.

Cafe Racer gives a brief history of RY4 Here A Brief History of RY4 Tobacco Flavor that tells about the name and original brand. I've never used their products. I don't want to get into making flavors for people. Many have asked, but I just don't have the time for it. I barely have time to get my own juices made up. Looking for some market brand I can recommend to him or buy him a bottle to try and if he likes it he can order his own.

The real stuff is still available. I remember when it first came out it was a hit for the recently smoke quitters. Of course I had to try the real stuff and as I recall it was ok but not what I really liked. I liked Mike and Janets recipe a lot better.
