Just got word that my brother's wife has stage 4 lung cancer with metastis to the brain. She's gonna go through chemo and radiation. Nobody in the family likes her at all, including my brother I think but, she's family so she gets 100% supported. Prayers appreciated.
Chris married her and adopted her 5 kids. The only one left at home is the 17 yo. However, the oldest daughter od'd (Ok now) and the courts took her 11 yo daughter away so Chris has her now too. He pooping bricks cause he can't work anymore and the wife was the bread winner. Talk about typical Chris drama. This is his fourth wife. In the Bode family you either got brains or looks. He looks like Sean Connery, need I say more. ;)
Going up to see em next weekend. Wish me luck.
I know it's a terrible attitude but, in my defense, I have been dealing with this stuff for 60 years.

You on blood thinners?

Nope but they always have a hard time getting my vein with the bigger needles at least up in the crook of my arm if they do it in the wrist it's no problem. Crunchy veins.

Oootaaay, goin' out on a hopefully trusted limb...

Dose 60 years are showin', but so is your brain! ;)

Seriously, do hope for a congenial and minimal trauma/drama for her situation, her family's and yours...

Bottom line, reality is reality!

Your attitude is realistic. Some people adjust after an <unconventional> upbringing, others don't. Give him some slack without compromising your own integrity.

Well, I think you'd fit in anywhere...but you BELONG here with all us whackos!
Absolutely agree with the above!!!

The bad news is that I tossed it in the trash 4 or 5 weeks ago. The good news is that it's been 6 or 7 weeks since I emptied that wastebasket. I just now dug to the bottom and found it. :rickroll:
See, it does pay to be a procrastinator at times, no? :)

@bigbells heck yeah man! I got some games in yesterday with it, just to learn it's power, core, reactions to the slightest motion, twitch, wind, etc. My old Toxic needs a break. I'll use it to pick up spares, as it's core is symmetric whereas this core isn't. I did feel a lot more feedback from the gauntlet as well, meaning wherever i throw it, is likely where it's going to go. Same with twisting my hands, even slightly, it will spin until it gets 3/4 down the lane, then hook off rapidly sending pins flying in every direction. She's a bad gauntlet. Probably the most fun I've hand bowling in awhile.
My husband is a Hammer fan, too! I'll have to tell him about the gauntlet. Most of my balls have been Storm, and I especially liked the Black Widow, but that's long gone now....like the way the Storms finish in the pocket for me, although it's sometimes the Brooklyn!
Enjoy that Hammer!!! :)

OK, let's 'see' if we can give ya a lil' relief here...

What does a dog look for? Owner, ball, fav toy, teasing squirrel to chase and/or 'nother possible .... to 'greet'?
What does a dog listen for? It's name, compliments, whistle, cupboard door, food dish replenishment?
What does a dog really need to be a happy/contented canine?

The smell (puppy's first sense), tender touch and nurturing love of her caring bipedal pardner(s), AKA her pack! All else is a canine bonus...

As long as your yard is fenced with no new hazards, your four legged gal will be fine. Chances are she'll surprise and most likely amaze ya!!! Don't feel sorry for her as long as she's in no pain. She's just so doggone happy to be with you...

BTW, her sniffer is much mo' sensitive dan your eyesight in da dark. She'll learn (if she hasn't already) dat fence line before ya can change batts in your flashlight.

Ya'll just luv each other while ya'll can!
How nice!! :)

Yep plus I made the mistake of watching a video of the complete surgery before hand so I knew what was coming. NOT advisable. You don't want to know.
I had contemplated watching a video of my cataract surgery I had a month ago, and glad I thought better of it.....:)

Me three....after putting up for years with inept nurses and Drs. who don't seem to care much how many times they poke you....one stupid nurse hit a muscle!! My reaction was to hit her...and I'm still glad about that....
Seems logical to me............good for you!!!

@Diver9543 - I hope I did not upset you with my suggestion of an invisible fence for your dog - I was making what I felt was an alternative choice if you wanted to consider it. Our dog while not blind is losing his sight also. He can - to the best of our determination - still see shapes - just not details. He will bark at me until he hears our voice...

Well thank you very much. I wouldn't know where to go anyway been here for 5 years. Glad I'm still welcome. Sometimes I just say things that seem normal to me but not to others. Have to watch the ........ of the mouth and constipation of the brain. Remember who I'm talking to.
