The woman in the middle is another ECFer, Atchafalaya. Sorry, I guess I should have put a caption. She's been on the Porches before. There are even pictures on one of the Porch threads of her having lunch with Deb (maybe a year ago?). But, I got in on it this time!

Deb called her while I was on my way and turned our meeting into a little impromptu party.
I forgot what Atcha looks like!

The trip itself was horrendous. Well mainly the trip TO Boston. The trip home wasn't so bad. But the wedding was wonderful! I can hardly wait until I get all the pictures. There was a photographer. Plus, several other people took pictures. The DJ took a bunch of them. The photographer had already gone home before the party really got going.

The wedding itself was small, simple, and beautiful. The dinner was fairly quiet. Until the dancing started. It started slow. But, it got pretty wild. One lady even got up on a chair to dance! And, my two daughters were the life of the party. It made me cry to see them together again like that. Like they were teenagers again. They used to make up dances together and sing duets together when they were teenagers.

And watching all the older people (the groom's family and his parent's friends) having so much fun dancing was incredible. They made me laugh. But, not because they were funny. They made me laugh for joy. My daughters seemed to inspire people to dance for the sheer pleasure of it.

Wonderful!

I love a good mystery book. Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch is my favorite! The Bosch books have many of the same characters from one book to the next too - I love that! I need more. Your book sounds perfect. But I hope it's available in ebook because I haven't read paper books in years. Because I have to watch my pennies I borrow everything from the library Overdrive.

I love Connelly! Both series, and Grisham, Patterson, Iris Johansson, etc... Plus D Michael Olive (my brother) amd now Seapeach!

I could never live in a place with am HOA. We rented a townhouse once and the neighborhood busy body told is they can come in and inspect at any time. We advised against it because we are armed. We moved as soon as we could.

Love anything Connelly! Did you know that Amazon did an Amazon Originals show of Bosch? It's named for him & the first 2 season's are based on the book Trunk Music. I like James Lee Burke, bothe John & Faye Kellerman, h when those get old I like Clive Cussler. Janet Evanovitch is my go to for funny.

Hmmm never read Johansson…any particular book? From Patterson my faves are the Bennett books, then the murder club and Private series.

And yes if anyone tried to just walk in my house they would have a nasty surprise…we are armed too.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show, had no idea the character was from a book series. I'll have to add those books to my "when I finally have time to read again" list.

I do know about the Amazon series but that actor playing him just doesnt cut it for me so I havent watched it.

Have you read Greg Iles's Natchez Burning trilogy - well the first two books because the third one wont be out until next year. He is my third fave mystery author Although his books are more historical fiction. And that Natchez trilogy really gives insights in the deep south.

Great books if you like murder mysteries. Every one of them!

If you havent read any Grisham books try those too. My all time fave mystery writer. Aside from writing a great story, his writing is so beautiful. He paints pictures with words!

The actor is nailing it imo. Really good show. Adding Iles to me list.

I like it!! Then ya just gotta make sure ya don't jerk when firing. Breathe in, fire on exhale so I've heard. Would love to take a class and get better. That laser would help a lot! Might not even have to shoot if they happen to see the laser on em. But I do know ya never pull one if yur not ready and willing to use it.

She has NO problems hitting her target... she's much better with a handgun than I've ever been. I figger, if'n I need to use a handgun, they done got too close. A good 30-06 rifle can stop 'em at 500 yards, and if they make it into the house, I'd rather pick up the shotgun. ;)

Abraham & Glenn,,,,,,,,,never occurred to me they would kill 2 characters off!

Ugh! Tell me about it!! That was absolutely THE MOST BRUTAL episode I have ever seen... watching Glenn struggling to speak was absolutely heart-wrenching! Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely excited to see where the show goes from here, but man that was a rough watch...

Yep... did you watch Hardwick's after-show? Apparently Abraham was on borrowed time anyway... He was supposed to have been killed instead of Denise a coupla episodes back (at least, according to the comic).

I can certainly think of dozens of ways I'd rather go out than to have my head bashed in like that, though... Nicotero's special effects department has NO equal!

For those who don't know........the lady in the middle is a dear friend of mine who lives about 40 minutes from me. She posted on the porches for a little while, so some may remember.......her screen name is @Atchafalaya and of course dancin on the left and me on the right. Dancin's daughter is a purple person too!
Yea we had a great time for sure. Vapers Rule!!!!

Looks like we will have to hope Carol comes to save the day,, in a year or so.........yikes,,, I don't expect many to live that long given their new landlord's taste for murder.

Yeah, but Carol has kinda lost the stomach for it. And Morgan ain't any better in that department... I don't expect that Negan will be taking out any more of the group, though... he wants them to work for him. Now that he's pretty much broken their will, they'll do as they're told. I'd say that the best hope is for King Ezekiel to step in and do something... but I've not read the comic, so I have no idea where the story is going from here.
