1. 16 Mbps will work fine. I know cuz that's what I used to have. Upgraded to 125 Mbps but NOT because of kodi.
2. These are all pretty much the same no matter the price. Pretty much pricier = more free stuff pre-installed.
3. The one's I have were recommended by top tutorials.
4. Yes, hardwire is best but mine are wi-fi. No problems.

Do you need a keyboard n' mouse? No. Unless you are going to add things and/or you'll be searching for things a lot. The search without a KB is broooootal. YMMV
Well the more things I watch about it it almost seems better on your computer then on a box. Do you know the post numbers for your best ones.

Did that one come with Kodi already on it. I just watched a video on the boxes that supposedly come preloaded with everything and the guy that did it showed what it does with what it has and it doesn't work well at all. Seems your better off just getting one without anything except maybe Kodi and loading them yourself. They use Wizards and not the best wizards. That Brit gives you a link to the best wizard but like he said if the add on gets updated you have to delet the one you have and load the new one.

Hi folks. Again checking in while hugely behind. Somewhere around 500 or so. Oops. Doree and I went to the commissary up at Patrick AFB today. 2 1/2 hours up, 1/2 hour for lunch, 2 hours shopping and 2 1/2 hours back. 30 minutes putting the dry goods away and we haven't started on the 55 qt cooler full of meat. I am tired!:)

It doesn't say it gets Amazon which is ok I still have my ROKU for that. Watching this series about how America lost WWII and half of US is German half is Japanese Rocky mts. are the neutral zone. Pretty good.
Remember. It's an Android box with the KODI app pre-installed. I downloaded the Amazon app and watched one of my movies yesterday, just to see if I could. Better to download the movie than to stream it, but it worked a treat!

1 thing I don't like is no BT. Another is 1MB Ram instead of 2. @Ken_A you got one right hows it workin if you're around.
Working just fine, so far. I'm getting some buffering issues, but there are you tube videos on how to resolve them

At the get go, I recommended an inexpensive PC .. yes, it's more work, but it will blow a box away .. period .. I use an i3 with HDMI out that cost me $90.00 on a dell.com refurb clearance .. it works flawlessly and that's all I use it for .. thus, I don't have to worry about it being compromised ..

These boxes are very much dependent on the user ..

KODI is an open source freeware, much like LINUX .. it comes pretty much bare bones on a download whether it's Google Play, etc .. KODI was originally written for the X-Box One, it was called XBMC and it was designed as a Home Theater interface, which was morphed for use with a Home Theater PC .. to hold and store music, pictures, Netflix access, etc .. it is a totally legit software, just like LINUX is totally legit .. the Addons have no affiliation with the KODI team ..

I run a bandwidth meter periodically, and nothing I have streamed over KODI has used more than 10Mbps, most much less since many of these things are highly compressed .. my Netfix uses 9 ..

You are still overthinking this and, BTW, are you reading all the posts .. ?? We've covered much of it ..

Guyz. A box iz a box. Duzn't reeely matter witch wun. Kodi is kodi no matter what box or computer it's on. You can DL kodi directly. You can get it in the windows store. You can get it pre-installed on a box you buy. As far as buffering... I get that too sometimes. Depends on where itz streaming from. Choppy? Hang up and find another source. Itz tricky getting the hang of it but itz knot really rocket science.

Yeah Willie that's what I do with most things like this including computer and with Gary's advice there i got a great new computer with everything I wanted for $450. Really happy with that but I'm getting quite an education on these things. Some are actually better then others and the more I learn the more I'm thinking that a box with just Kodi and some of the Google Apps is better then one with everything loaded using a wizard or someone elses addons because a lot don't seem to work well. Then load the apps and addons you want on there.

I'll bet my PC against any stand alone, limited ability box, any day, any time .. :)

And, as you've said, many, many times, a user must be willing to put the time and effort into it in order to get it the way you want it and get maximum advantage .. it's not a snap, it's time consuming in order to get it where you want it .. If I've learned anything, I've learned that ..

I now return you to your normally scheduled KODI programing .. ;)

There is always something better .. no matter what it is in Tech .. you simply have to dive in, and then do the work .. some dude in China is not going to take the time and effort to make each and every box work flawlessly with each and every addon .. Myself, I prefer DIY ..

You ought to be tired. That is an eight-hour workday, and yo aren't even finished yet.

You need to change where you are living, don't you? Or are you running away from someone?

agree with this.

even tho i have a box, i also have kodi installed on a PC just to fool around with things or test.

for example, i installed one of the "builds" from that British guy the other day on my PC kodi. it was less than stellar (almost unusable, actually). today i deleted 2 folders on my pc to get kodi back to it's default state. took a few seconds. within 1/2 hour, i reinstalled the addons i was originally using and was back to normal, before i installed that "build". i imagine if i'd tried that "build" on my box, i wouldn't know how to get rid of it.

pretty much any box will have limitations. for example, on mine, i haven't figured out how to install the Sportsdevil addon to work without errors, even tho i have it running on my PC version just fine. no biggie. i'll either figure it out or blow it off. the parts that do work make it worthwhile.

the other nice thing about the DIY approach is that if you buy a box preinstalled with stuff, chances are a lot of that will be porn, or other stuff you have no clue what it's about. i still haven't gotten around to deleting all that crap from my box.

the boxes are pretty convenient, but the DIY approach certainly bears merit.

Yo Mama. There are a few addons that require that you have another addon already installed. That my be why the sports glitch. I know mucky ducks is required for a few. And there's a bunch of others as well. Navi8, fmf tester... the list goes on. A lot of the programs run thru other programs to get to their sources.
