Yep. Every 4 months. I'v been on infusions of Remicade or Rituxin since 1998 with a few gaps because of insurance copays. Maybe 3 years total off of them. Remicade worked better, but have to get it every 8 weeks & there isn't a copay program.

Thank you. I'm sorry that I've been MIA for so long... I keep trying to do better, but I keep sliding by the wayside. One of these days, I'll get my act together...

From what I've been reading about you and your bride...you most certainly DO have your act together. My heart just aches for you and your bride.

 Thank you, Hun! I try... but I tend to let other things slip from time to time.

Well, I'm located at 3.12° S, 104.64° E. Now, wherever that puts me is beyond my scope, but not out of the ordinary cause I'm still trying to find out where I am or what I want to be when I grow up.
Just type in 3.12° S, 104.64° E in a browser.

Grrrr... I hate the way insurance plays against the patient like that. SOOOOOO damn frustrating.
Welllll, the drug alone is about 13K. So the 20% copay on that plus the other expenses like the saline, infusion office visit copay, & oh yeah, that 4K deductable.... I kept getting knocked out of it. Now retired, I get the drug from the manufacturer for nothing & only pay the office copay. I can do that. It's one good thing Ocare did for me. Since I'm on Medicare, I don't know if it effected other things since I became eligable about the same time Ocare kicked in.

Kaz, I don't think I've ever said so, but I look up to you, the love and devotion you show to your DB is truly inspiring. The "other things" that you let slip are unimportant.

Love these! The one of you and F is so good. Miss y'all, give her hugs for me. She's as good a hugger as she is a picture taker!! And I love that pic of Patty especially! she looks so good there. Bubba too of course, but really great to see Patty looking so well.

That's the little community <1/2 mile from my house. A railroad crossing, a little country store, two churches, and a post office.
I lived in the same community a few miles down the road here, cept it was a quicky mart instead of a country store. Three quicky marts actually since it was on the hwy.

I have a few hours petsitting for a friend this morning & tomorrow. Love these 2 girls, one wants to play, the other wants to snuggle!

awwwwwww how sweet. My son said they are bringin my puppies back here today, but they'll still be at her folks house for awhile. Her dad is having surgery on his neck tomorrow. After 2-3 months of severe neck pain and not being able to move it, they finally figure out that his C-1 is all but gone. Doc said he was essentially a bobble head doll. They are going to fuse the base of his skull to the C-2 They had to take him off the blood thinners to do this.......he was on those to keep his BP in check. With BP issues, he's been tachycardic (fast heart rate). Prayers are appreciated.

Good morning, everyone... I know that it's been a very long time since I've made it by here, and I'm so far behind that I fear it would be impossible for me to catch up at this point... but it's been a long weekend and we've recently gotten some rather disheartening news on the medical front. I know that quite a few of you have been following our journey, and I wanted to make time to come by and give y'all a bit of an update. My Darling Bride had CT scan on Saturday, then brain MRI, full body bone scan, echocardiogram, and an EKG on Monday as a screening for a clinical trial that was supposed to start today. Yesterday was an appointment to get the results of all the scans and talk about the trial... we got bad news. :(

The scans showed significant tumor growth and spread. The tumors in her right lung have continued to grow, as well as the few tumors in her chest wall. But now they have found that she also has tumors in the liver, the right humerus, bones of the pelvis, both femurs, right fibula, sternum, skull, and spine. Also found a small 1cm tumor in the left cerebellum. That small little tumor in her brain disqualifies her for clinical trials. We have an appointment next Monday with radiation oncology to discuss the findings in the brain, and possible treatment options. If we can resolve the brain tumor, then it may be possible to resume clinical trials. Either way, it was very hard news to take. Her spirits are still up, and she is still fighting with everything that she has. I will continue to do my very best to keep her happy and to support and love her in every way that I possibly can.
(((((((Kaezz and DB))))))))) You know y'all are always in my heart.

No I check on it but have been feeling pretty weird lately. Haven't even started cutting the patches down yet. Trying to get off the Xanax and cutting down on the breakthrough pain meds. Man that Xanas is a beech. I tried to cut it completely out Monday. Got down from 1.5mg-2mg to .5mg and when I went to bed my brain was working at 1000mph after 2 hours of laying there I took some. I had no idea this stuff was so addicting. I have a doc appt today. I'm down to .5mg and 6-10mg pain pills from 1.5mg and 8-9 pain pills. Plus trying to get used to my new glasses from the VA. I had no idea about the xanax been on them for 5 years.
I'm sure some weird is to be expected, but pay attn if it feels too weird. You definitely don't want to throw your body into shock going too fast! Waiting to hear your weight today. Hoping it's the same or up! So glad you at least are keeping up your appetite

 Thank you, Hun! I try... but I tend to let other things slip from time to time.
ya mean yur actually *gasp* human?? :p You'd be giving God a run for His money if you didn't let things slip hun! you respond to every single thing said to you, which I know can also be tiring. We're here for you, don't you ever feel bad about not taking care of us!!! Don't make my git mah skillet mister!!! :D

Don't come here to catch up, but to receive solace! You are exhausted from the effort to grow wings to support your bride. God bless you and keep you strong.
