Spent some time at the beach this weekend on lake Shelbyville. Needed the sun, the rest, and the road Trip. Needed to get things off my mind.

ah ... the beach is a good place to do that. Hope it worked for you. I spent the day putzing with wood working tools. Felt good just doing something for the heck of it and not something that had to be done.

I was outside for a bit today, but mostly inside nursing a terrible, miserable, awful cold. Haven't been sick in such a long time so guess I'm due. I did make some wonderful granola for snacking so something got accomplished, and then I napped. Can't type much with my eyes closed.

Not rain, they were "upgrading" the tower according to the tech hubby finally managed to talk to. Had to go into town and another tower to connect. No improvements we can tell.

I have had a problem with my La-Z-Boy recliner lately. The leg rest only worked in the fully up or down position, no mid positions. Last night I finally turned the chair upside-down and found out the part that allows the mid positions was worn. The parts are plastic and a groove was worn in the part that allows the two mid positions. Today I went to the workshop and brainstormed a solution. Yes, I am a cheapskate. I did check online and could not find a replacement part. I'm sure I can take it to the store where I bought it and they could repair it for half the cost of a new one. I wound up cutting 5 small pieces of an old license plate and superglued them to the worn plastic catches. I am now waiting on the superglue to fully set up. If it doesn't work with the superglue I will put the pieces in place with Harbor Freight Epoxy Super Weld. I only needed 4 of the small metal pieces but the way my luck runs I would loose one. It was super easy to make a spare. Low and behold I did drop one but was lucky enough to reach down and feel my way around in the dark and found it.

Improvise & overcome ... I think the military uses that phrase a lot ... but it works for cheapskates too

Just pointing out, you don't really need to go through all that. Lazy boy's mechanism is guaranteed for life. I had problems with mine and all I had to do was give the local store a call.

I miss being near a beach. A trip to one of the area lakes and feeding some of the fish sounds good. I may have to look into that.

When we first bought our house my Dad and Stepmom came and visited. He damned me during his visit. We were at the table having some coffee. He told me, "well, now that you own your own home just remember no matter where you sit you will see something that needs to be done!"

I have done so much for so long with so little that I am now fully qualified to do anything with nothing.

I try to fix things before replacing. I like to tinker. I fixed the ice dispensers in the freezer doors of 2 of the places I pet sit at. One was jammed because the door wasn't being shut all the way & ice partially melted in the path & refroze when the door was closed. The other was just jammed with ice in the path. They love me more now!

So that puppy of yours should be pretty big by now. Current pics please!
Most current and good pics are on hubs phone (my phone is on it's last legs) I will grab them tomorrow and post. They are getting big. Hank is now 8 months has grown into his ears, and Clifford is bulking up nicely :)
