I'm really worried about DH's eye that had the detached retina.

Sorry for your DH's added troubles, hoping and praying the second surgery works and he gets better soon!

That's cool - thanks for sharing...

Thanks Semi... hope I don't bug y'all with too many over time

BEAN! How are you?

Thanks for all the prayers. I truly appreciate your caring. Unfortunately DH's retina detached again. Not at the same spot…a new one.

So surgery this afternoon…lasering, inserting a different gas bubble and I don't know what else. And it takes a couple of weeks to know if we're out of the woods. Doc said this procedure works in 90% of his cases Again please keep him in your thoughts and prayers because doc also said it's obvious to him that DH's retina is weak.
So sorry to hear the two of you are having to go through these troubles. Prayers are being said for both of you.

Continuing prayers for good results, Bea.

You'd think they'd realize that, and put in a nearby smoking/vaping room... rather than risking the family going into cardiac arrest from the stress....
When I was in the hospital after I had my heart attack they gave me the "patch" to help with my cravings. Don't ya know they socked it to the insurance for the couple patches? I think I was cig free for 5 years and started again when we found out the cancer.

Fiiiiiinaly got home a few minutes ago. :) Left the house at 6:30am. :grr:. Surgery was worked in for this afternoon because it couldn't be put off. Apparently the Doc lasers all around the retina to "stick it down. Then he removes all the vitreous and replaces it with some sort of gas that will weigh down on the retina until it heals. That gas will slowly be replaced with new vitreous as the body makes it. Doc said this surgery works 90% of the time so here is hoping.

Luckily the only two restrictions are no leaning and no lifting anything over 15 lbs for a month.

I'm so sick of being around crowds. Too many people at the doctor's office and even more at the hospital. All very pleasant and helpful but Since I retired I enjoy solitude most of the time.

Thank you all so much for your support :wub::wub:

No smoking or vaping on hospital grounds here. Not even parking lots.

Well news for today an Uber Self driving car struck and killed a woman in Tempe AZ Hey that wasn't you was it David>?

Nope, although it could have made the drive down a bit easier. :)

Yep, hacking the autonomous car's computer is a concern for me as well, Legs. I hope the makers are taking significant steps to prevent it, but then again, anything connected to the net CAN be hacked, and of course will be....

@Flowersoul and @classwife sorry I missed both of your birthdays not being on here. Classy's just by one day but still belated. Hope they were wonderful!

Good morning Semi :).

I'm so excited! Today we're driving to Tallahassee to have lunch with my former Practice Manager/friend who is on her way home up north from a Destin, FL vacation. We haven't seen each other in almost 4 years since I moved to FL. Can't wait to see her
oh kewl! Hope y'all had a wonderful time. Prayers being said that the surgery works!

My niece's twins at one month. Lida on the left, Aidan on the right. Ain't they something!
awwwwwww so precious!

Two more of my orchids are open now
beautiful!

At any rate, both procedures went well: they found no clot; and the ablation stopped the AFL completely
wonderful news, but wow.......you really went through it.

Forgive me for interrupting your thread. A dear friend of mine and a long time veteran of ECF, known as “Rave”, has been going through some life changing horrors. Please take the time to read her story. I’m sure you will be moved. If you can make even a small donation it would show we care and be very much appreciated. If you can’t, then maybe you could send this link to your family & friends, especially on the social media sites. Thank you. Prayers for her.

I think about you all often, and I hope everyone is doing well.
Good to see you! Kewl video!

Well... I finally got the test results back, and that's exactly what my dog has. :( :( :(
Part of me feels relieved to know it's not been my fault (thinking the food I've given him, or something in the environment, or anything else I've thought over the past 4 yrs). The other part of me is dreading how I'm going to deal with this financially. I'm currently unemployed, but in school. I should have a pretty decent paying job within two years where covering the cost of meds along that price point wouldn't be an issue, but right know, I'm flat broke and with no income. The only thing I could do is sell my home, which I'm truly trying to avoid doing. I'd have to completely re-locate, which would turn my life upside down since I have a kid that goes back & forth between myself and his dad. I would have to completely move out of my area. The timing of this just stinks. :'( :'(
prayers gone up for you and your pup! That's great you are in school. what are you taking?

I heard that but the Seahawks have lost their way. I think Pete's been smokin that wacky tabaccy.
Good to see you too darlin!

wahoooooooooooo @3mg Meniere Congrats hun!!!

Well that's enough gloom and doom we all have enough of that. I want to introduce you to my Great Grandson.

wow.......that is so amazing!

WE HAVE BLUEBONNETS!
kewl!! I've been asking my son since the 1st if he's seen any. My spring herald each year is when I see bluebonnets and have my first strawberry shortcake!

Happy news to share! Daughter and hubby signed the papers for a house yesterday!!!!
We spent the day getting stuff moved, more to do tomorrow. She never thought she would ever own a home, she was crying a river of happy tears. We helped with the closing costs, he got a VA loan. We have so many ideas on fixing it up so she can do everything possible for herself (wheelchair and limited reach). We found some tables with telescoping legs for her craft room! She can reach the bathroom sink now! Little things most of never think of make life so much easier for those with limitations. Any ideas would be most welcome, too! yay!!! that's wonderful!

You'd think with all the hacking that goes on in this country they wouldn't even consider putting those out there.
Jup that was what I said to my son when I first heard of them. I'm sure it was a lot of people's first thought.

@Kenna you should never think you're running folks off.

Oh, yea, those nasty rains came through here and weren't short lived, either. St. Augustine got a terrible piece of it, also.
