I found everything for the commode except the most important part the bucket.

If I may suggest - first ask someone in the nursing home if they have an extra bucket laying around that you can have - they just might and wouldn't mind giving it to you. Also, in more then one second hand store around here they usually have commodes (new & used) and only cost approximately $5 - $10, they may even have just the bucket for a couple of bucks too . . . Last, but not least, I believe if any of the rehab people or your doctor - can order one (gives a script) his office personal/nursing home/hospital people will arrange for you to get one and your insurance should pay for a new commode . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Well @Janet H that was yesterday. This morning she called at 0530 and her leg won't work today she almost fell. She doesn't know what is going on and now really has no medical people who might know anything there. Needless to say she was so upset cause she thought she might be able to come home around Wednesday but now we don't know. She was right on the edge of tears and so far today it hasn't gotten better. Don't know what happened, last night she was doing really well getting to the bathroom using the walker and was so proud of herself and had this vision of coming home finally, but now everything is up in the air again. My daughter is here and went through the house like a white tornado. She is going to be here till tomorrow, then my Gdaughter comes for a week on Tuesday. I feel like crap today which doesn't help, I don't know why but I just do. What a roller coaster. It's like a lifetime of bad things have happened the last 2 weeks. And this all started with the Chemo.
Call her Dr. He can see hher there. Her PC.

Well her leg is feeling better tonight. She's going to try the PT tomorrow, she wants to come home so bad. She might just make it this week We're hoping. Will be good to have her back I don't care how much I have to do to take care of her, but she needs to be able to walk a few steps and get up 7 steps to the bathroom with help of course but she needs to get that far. God I hate that she's had to go thru this. all from the chemo she was on. Good old cigarettes.
She needs to do every therapy they offer her. And walk around in between once they clear her for it. Her PC needs to be involved in this!

This!!!

Our local hospital ordered one fer Patty quite a while back. Asked if I'd wait there for it or have it delivered to da house. I was waiting fer Patty's discharge paperwork, so I waited. 'Bout 20 minutes later da delivery guy put da box in my truck!

I just got home from visiting this afternoon. She did really well in PT twice today. She is walking with the walker and things are feeling better. She said she is going to sleep tonight. They were amazed at how much upper body strength she has. The boot is a real hindrance but she'll so even better when she can take it off in a couple weeks. All she has to do is be able to take a few steps and climb 6 stairs. So they are working on strengthening her leg with the boot. But she just may be able to come home later this week. She has an appointment with the Oncologist Wednesday and I can take her to it and back. She's eating good trying to get her strength back and she was in good spirits. They were surprised at how well she was doing with walking. I'm probably getting my hopes up too much but I wouldn't be surprised if he turns her loose by Friday. They don't do much on Sat and Sun anyway and she can go there and continue PT from home only 20 min away. I found everything for the commode except the most important part the bucket. Figures I hate buying another but if I can't find the part it may be needed. Just have to see how well she does. If she can make it up the 6 stairs she can stay in the bedroom on her near last trip up. So we'll see but she is feeling pretty good.

Glad to hear Ginny is doing better today. I agree with others, speak up about the commode.

Oh daughter went home and Gdaughter will fly in tomorrow. We figured that was way better then trying to drive with GGSon. He screams in the car. Hope he outgrows that but she can be here in 1 hour compared to 8 with stopping to feed him. He's getting teeth but don't think he's bit her yet when shes feeding him. That might be the end of nursing. LOL I think it would be better if he could ride in the front seat but riding in the back facing backwards he hates it.

Our grandson used to scream like crazy in the car as well, but it did pass. It took us longer to get used to having the kids in the back seat facing backwards.

Thats a good idea. I will check around. There used to be a lot of home health care stores around here but seems to only be one these days.

Update for me: I reported my medical issue to volunteer services at VA, and she told me to take care of myself, and don't worry about my volunteer responsibilities. So I am going to vote today and finish up another quilt-top. I need to get busy with home-made MRE's for the freezer. I can do chili and great northern bean soup today. Tomorrow I have a MRI. Thursday I meet with the plastic surgeon in the late morning and with the breast surgeon in the early afternoon. They may send me to do pre-admission stuff between times.

My prayers for you and Ginny, Pat.

early voting on the menu today! Voting as long as the line isn't too long that is. Neither of us can stand very long so....

FYI: I beat Ya' - Already voted yesterday . . . ;) :rickroll:
(Actually, even though where I live is a voting poll on Election Day and all I have to do is go downstairs - didn't want to wait to Vote for all the WINNERS . . . )

And - although the line was not long at all where I went for early voting, they still offered "Me" a chair to sit and they brought "My" voting papers to where I was sitting . . . :thumb:

Now - If they would only STOP all these stupid political Ads :-x :censored: :-x every 5 seconds on TV (they don't influence who & what I am voting for anyway) . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

finish up another quilt-top

OOOOOOOOOOO - Got any pictures . . . ? ? ? ? :D

Ended up rescheduling both for this Friday. Storms have moved in on top of the cold. Not good for either of us to be out in.
I discovered that we have a new voting option this time! Early voting takes place at our little library. Supposedly there is a sign with a phone# for Seniors & disabled to call & you just park & they come out to you & you vote from your car. Not sure how that would work? Interesting! There are many people offering rides to people so they can go vote. All specify no political discussions on the ride. Lol, understandable.

We've been vote by mail for years (I think the whole State is, now). Ballots ready to be dropped off. Great system, and, while counted by machine, there IS a paper trail
I've always enjoyed the go vote trips. Was always excited to go. We could vote by mail, but enjoy the tradition.

Our prayers are for you. Keep up the good spirits and you'll be fine. Easy for me to say but I know you will. You're too good of a person not to. God is on your side and so are we. Seems we have quite a prayer chain going on the BP these days. All of them help believe me. I've been on it also. I'll have my MIL put you on theirs so you got the Catholics goin for ya too. Mary right I saw that in a post but even the Catholics need a name God knows who we are praying for tho.

Years back, our poll was on my way to work, so I'd leave early and vote on the way. Once we moved out of "town", we were sent to another site - 180 from work and just about as far! The County had the option then for "permanent absentee", so we switched to that. I've come to like having resources and time to consider things like Initiatives. And it leaves a paper trail. :thumb:
