he, he ... Seapeach might get a chuckle out of this. I ruined so many shirts and shorts handling chlorine around the pool ... now I do my chlorine chores in my birthday suit.
Wouldn't work for me. the fence between myself and the neighbor behind me is falling down, and it's her fence. NO WAY I'm gonna get the cops called on me.

All but about 4 years of my 35 year career was spent on night-shift. My circadian rhythm will never be right. I recently read an article about type 2 diabetics being pre-disposed d/t weird shifts. Had to do with melatonin and the liver dumping glycogen in the middle of the night cause it expects you to be busy. I have been disabled for nearly five years and still can't get my sleep readjusted.

I never was a morning person. I used to work a job that required me to be in at 7am. I was always on time, but I was never fully functioning until 10 am.

I've been on night shift now for almost ten years, and I can't tell you the last time I slept for 8 hours without waking. I always have to make appointments for late in the afternoon. Early mornings are NOT my forte!!

Do it! Maybe she'll get inspired to fix the fence!
She was forced into physical disability retirement and just got enough money to fix her house after being hit by lightning. Quote to replace the fence is a lot of money, but I have a standing offer to pay half. :)
or maybe he'll make a love connection!!
Um.... divorced lady, with no intention of getting married + never married man with no intention of getting married = Friends, sort of, but nothing else.

Kay, I found your latest news really uplifting.

I've spent almost all of my time in the past couple of days reading a Kindle book online: Lee Child's "Never Go Back", which according to the book jacket is #18 in the Jack Reacher series. I'm completely unfamiliar with numbers 1-17 but I'm really enjoying this one. I'm about halfway through it.
Dave.........how far can yur drone fly????????
I'm a believer in free enterprise, and it's not likely you could compete with the standing offers I've already received to NOT show the video. Some things are best left to the imagination, and "some things" generally includes us.

I LOVE Lee Child and the Jack Reacher books! Read them all and always look forward to the next one.

I think Lee Child may have been mentioned previously by some of you who do more reading than I do; people such as Matt and Mike to name a couple.* I enjoy those conversations but don't necessarily keep up with the details.

*I expect Gary to take my wording and deliberately misinterpret it, so just to make it a little less enjoyable, I see ya comin' from a mile away.

It's been a good while since I mentioned any of my reading material .. having been an avid reader since I was a kid, I still lay in bed each night with a book .. it all started when I was probably 12 or 13, with Verne, Wells, Poe, etc, flashlight, under the covers, hoping my parents would not look in on me .. at any rate .. I went thru a fairly long jag on Historical Fiction, the likes of Bernard Cornwell / Patrick O'Brian and others .. prior to that, everything George R.R. Martin has ever written ..

My latest picks that I have enjoyed include ::

Dennis Lehane Crime Fiction, (the books are brief but Lehane has a style that reminds me of Raymond Chandler, Mickey Spillane, Elmore Leonard)

The Sparrow books by Mary Doria Russell .. which are as much a philosophical study on religion as they are Sci Fi .. almost a Heinlein lean, since much of what Heinlein wrote, IMO, was commentary cloaked in fiction

The Strain Trilogy /Guillermo del Toro .. just when you think Vampire Horror has been beat to death, del Toro gives it a great spin .. and the TV series is pretty good as well .. I think it's on Netflix ..

The Passage Trilogy / Justin Cronin .. fantastic writing / more Vampire fiction, set in an Apocalyptic world .. great stuff .. if you read and loved "The Stand" .. give The Passage a shot ..

It seems like such a shame that Gary didn't take such obvious bait, and I'd hate to see it go unused. So, in my best Gary impersonation...
Wen did Mike and Matt become a cupple?

Good morning/afternoon, everyone! I had a wonderful weekend with my sisters and niece and nephew. It was so much fun to catch back up with family! And I've got bumps, scrapes, yellowjacket stings, and sore muscles to prove it!

It's so good to see ya make your way over to the porch, @DingerCPA !! We may have to drag Lynn and Kodak over here, too! LOL!

@seapeach - Oh, Sweetie! I am so very saddened to hear of the troubles that your family faced over the weekend. :( Prayers are absolutely being sent for a speedy recovery! I breathed a huge sigh of relief when I read that the surgery went well and that GD was able to go home with Mama. I completely understand that it's not "over" yet, but my heart soared when I read that the surgery went well. Kids are so much stronger than we realize; on many levels. Prayers and well wishes and virtual hugs are here as long as you want or need them.

First off, I really love my Kindle and also have downloaded the Kindle app for my Samsung tablet. My youngest son got me interested in the Jack Reacher series. I haven't read but a couple in the series and there are a total of 21. I'm really lucky here in the Oklahoma City metro as the library is really Kendle/eReader friendly. They have a really large selection of eMedia available for downloading. So far they have the majority of popular authors available and the checkout period is two weeks with the option to renew. Also no overdue fees for the eMedia! My taste for reading is varied ranging from SyFi to True Crime. Right now I am reading Watership Down. I guess I am a late bloomer, somehow I missed this one when it came out. Some books I have enjoyed and reread numerous times are The Stand, Battlefield Earth, and the Harry Potter series to just name a few. Reading is my biggest form of escapism. I'm rambling so I'll shut-up for now.
