The heart of a comedian is rebellious.
    That includes leading him to an overused joke;
Ain't gonna bite just because it is there.
Yeah, I know. But the * that bigbells included couldn't just sit there without someone biting.:)

Mama is adjusting and baby is adjusting. Kira doesn't remember being hurt and tries to do things she mustn't do...like bap herself in the face with a toy, lay her face on the sofa cushions. Her usual play is interrupted when she hurts herself accidentally causing pain that she doesn't understand. She's picked at the stitches and pulled a couple loose, but mama is taking her to her doc today. All is well beyond that. We are truly grateful. The support has been tremendous and very much appreciated. Out of respect for my daughter and the desire to not debate dog, parenting, or dog owner issues with friends and family, I have not spoken to any friends or family on social media. But I did need support and you all have been terrific and in a most non-judgmental manner. I can't tell you how much that means to me.

On another note, I'm tired. I have oodles and oodles of thoughts running through my brain, but no energy to write anything down. All I can say is thank the good Lord we're not busy right now. I'd probably fall on my face.
You have not had any down time for your body or mind to relax & reset. As a result both are turned on all the time. Nonstop. Anything mechanical, if turned on & left on will eventually burn out & breakdown. They all need a turn off, & cool down period. So it is with the human body & mind.
You need to take your down time. Tell these people no. Just do it once. Then do it again. Take your next 7 days off & add a week vacation time to it. That Manager is calling you to come in to work so he doesn't have to step up & do it himself. Because that is what Managers are supposed to do. He's calling you because you aren't married, & have no children to require your attention. It leaves him free to enjoy his days off. He gets his down time for sure. He thinks you have nothing else to do but work. You need to change his mind, because he's taking advantage of you & doesn't even think of finding someone else to do these things because he knows you'll show up.
Been through this. I've been a Manager, I hated having to go in & work extra because someone called in & there was no one else to come in. But I did it, because that is why Managers are on salary, not hourly, pay. It's their job to do it.
Say no, & take your days off, Roto. You are ruining your health & wasting time you should be able to enjoy for yourself.

WORK TO LIVE. DON'T LIVE TO WORK.

Have any of you read the new Newsweek Special Edition called Vape Nation. I am trying to work through it I am not a big reader but so far it doesn't seem real biased one way or another. They just are kind of putting both sides of the story not just the FDA's but Vapers also. They have some beliefs that we know are wrong but then they put the beliefs of the vaping world. But they kind of seem to be saying this is going to be the end of the vaping world as we have known it. Pick up a copy. See what you think. Seems like I read an article and they are saying how bad this is for you but then they come back and say hey maybe it's not. At any rate they do say that big tobacco is losing the battle.

So fasted for bloodwork this morning, now breaking my fast with long John silver's

Sent from a dark, twisted corner of the back porch, covered in cobwebs and slightly damp.
Cholesterol tests, should've gone to Long John's first they probably would have passed out.

First off, I really love my Kindle and also have downloaded the Kindle app for my Samsung tablet. My youngest son got me interested in the Jack Reacher series. I haven't read but a couple in the series and there are a total of 21. I'm really lucky here in the Oklahoma City metro as the library is really Kendle/eReader friendly. They have a really large selection of eMedia available for downloading. So far they have the majority of popular authors available and the checkout period is two weeks with the option to renew. Also no overdue fees for the eMedia! My taste for reading is varied ranging from SyFi to True Crime. Right now I am reading Watership Down. I guess I am a late bloomer, somehow I missed this one when it came out. Some books I have enjoyed and reread numerous times are The Stand, Battlefield Earth, and the Harry Potter series to just name a few. Reading is my biggest form of escapism. I'm rambling so I'll shut-up for now.

If you enjoyed King's The Stand check out Robert McCammon's post apocalyptic chiller " Swan Song". An epic adventure about a band of survivors led by a girl who holds the key to the future. Oh, and no zombies!

Reacher smiled in the dark. "US Army sergeants. There was nothing they couldn't do. "
It's been a good while since I mentioned any of my reading material .. having been an avid reader since I was a kid, I still lay in bed each night with a book .. it all started when I was probably 12 or 13, with Verne, Wells, Poe, etc, flashlight, under the covers, hoping my parents would not look in on me .. at any rate .. I went thru a fairly long jag on Historical Fiction, the likes of Bernard Cornwell / Patrick O'Brian and others .. prior to that, everything George R.R. Martin has ever written ..

My latest picks that I have enjoyed include ::

Dennis Lehane Crime Fiction, (the books are brief but Lehane has a style that reminds me of Raymond Chandler, Mickey Spillane, Elmore Leonard)

The Sparrow books by Mary Doria Russell .. which are as much a philosophical study on religion as they are Sci Fi .. almost a Heinlein lean, since much of what Heinlein wrote, IMO, was commentary cloaked in fiction

The Strain Trilogy /Guillermo del Toro .. just when you think Vampire Horror has been beat to death, del Toro gives it a great spin .. and the TV series is pretty good as well .. I think it's on Netflix ..

The Passage Trilogy / Justin Cronin .. fantastic writing / more Vampire fiction, set in an Apocalyptic world .. great stuff .. if you read and loved "The Stand" .. give The Passage a shot ..
Hope you don't mind if I ask again for those recommendations when I'm ready for some new reading material. Thanks UW!
It seems like such a shame that Gary didn't take such obvious bait, and I'd hate to see it go unused. So, in my best Gary impersonation...
Wen did Mike and Matt become a cupple?
What, and not touch on the "see you coming from a mile away"?

Got to admit that #18 of the Jack Reacher series has been worth every cent of the $10 I paid for it. About 2/3 of the way through it now.

The way I see it, it just isn't the time or place to be judgy. A loved one was badly injured. You were, understandably, stressed/worried/concerned. This group of people is smart enough and loving enough to just give you what you needed at the time. :) Of all the people I've dealt with in my life, this place is a solace and a god-send. Honest, caring, loving people who have come together in spite of our many differences. I am so very happy that you were able to find the solace that you needed, Peach... and from what I can see, it'll always be here. :)

@bigbells Hey I was real hesitant to try SS but I caved and got a spool of 316L supposedly the best for TC and sure enough I feel the same way I did about Ti when I first tried it. Really clean taste and the flavor really comes through. I am in the process of changing over to SS. By the way I got the TCR for SS316L from the guy at DJSlbs and it's 00092 or on Jtech or Wismec products 0092 Actually I forgot on the Jtech or Wismec it is off a little so it is 0108

Good morning/afternoon, everyone! I had a wonderful weekend with my sisters and niece and nephew. It was so much fun to catch back up with family! And I've got bumps, scrapes, yellowjacket stings, and sore muscles to prove it!
Sooooooooooo glad you had a great time!!! But wow who knew fun with family could be so physically destructive! (emotionally yes unfortunately)

    I'm rambling so I'll shut-up for now.
don't shush up.....it was great to finally git ya talkin!!

Hahahaha! Yeah, that's what happens when you run around with an 11 year old, a 7 year old, and a 3 year old. The two older ones were trying to drown me in the pool, then a yellowjacket landed on my shoulder while they were both hanging off of me. I just tolerated being stung while I removed the kids (didn't want to spook the thing into stinging one of them), then I flicked it off so my brother-in-law could squash it on the deck. That thing must have stung me 5-6 times... then the kids were super sweet, they were worried that I was hurt. I just laughed and dunked 'em back in the pool and kept playing. Apparently, they now think that "Uncle Daniel is invincible!". LOL! They weren't lucky enough to get to watch me moan and groan as I crawled out of bed and tried to get my muscles to work again the next morning!

LOL! Even my sisters couldn't believe I did that... both said they'd have freaked out and tossed the kids! LMAO! Me? Nah.... I'd step in front of a moving vehicle to protect those kids. Family is Family; you protect family. Besides, I know I'm not allergic to them; I'm not too sure about the kids. Either way, those things hurt, and I don't wanna see any of 'em cry. I can "man up" for pretty much anything, but I can't stand to see a kid cry... they're supposed to be happy. :)
