I remember that story. There have been some where they have replaced bird beaks too.

That was the first I had heard of it. I just thought that it was a really cool use of modern technology. :) They mentioned the beaks at the end of the article, as well, but didn't show any pics of that. It's amazing that they can do things like that these days.

Wow, how cool is that!! It's amazing the poor thing didn't die when the shell was burned off. I wonder if it's own shell will ever be able to grow back enough or will it probably need new shells as it gets older.

I had the same thought about the shell. It did say that it was a 4-piece shell, so maybe they overlap and can shift/expand as needed for a time? I don't know... I expect that it may need new shells as it ages, but they don't grow very fast, so that would probably be a while. Either way, I thought that it was a super cool story! That morning show always does a "Can I get an Amen" segment. So, every morning on my way to work, I get to hear some little feel good story. :) Some of them have really been quite touching.

That is so cool! And birds, too? I've seen stories of printing new feet for geese or ducks, & dogs I think. It's wonderful technology.

Yep! I heard it on 100.3 FM. They do a story every morning M-F between 6:30a and 7:00a.

And I'll never go to that house again (or even to Albany period) unless I'm wearing a Jackass Leather (now Galco) holster, with a Browning HP in it.
omggggggggg what a horrible experience!!! For some reason I was really worried about you while you were gone. Reckin now I know why! So very very glad you're safe. I also hope you reported it!

Can I tell Life that? ;)
lol that would be nice huh! When I was a kid, I used to have a recurring dream that I actually could do that. The whole dream is long, so won't go into it, but I could check out and go to another place, and no one knew I was gone.

Just a little "feel good" story that was repeated on my local radio morning show; I thought I would share it here. Maybe @Ken_A would be interested in the 3D printing aspect of it. :)

it wasn't 3D printed, but of course my favorite story is of Winter..... the dolphin that got a new tail. What an amazing story, particularly if you follow it through both Dolphin Tale movies! I was so close to her in Florida. Would have loved to have seen her and hope, but I do watch their live cam sometimes.

So, every morning on my way to work, I get to hear some little feel good story. :) Some of them have really been quite touching.
wow........what a great way to start the day!!!

That's right!!! I remember you telling me your anniversary was coming up. Congrats! I don't know if I'll still be vaping in four years, but I know I won't be smoking.

and I forgot to add......that truly truly.......I don't think it would have happened without all y'all. The porch was the first place I landed when I got to ECF. Y'all helped me soooooo much. In the newbie area there was wayyyy too much info being thrown at me, and it was too confusing, since much was contradictory. Without y'alls patience, help and kindness, I don't think I could have stuck with it!!!

Yabutt... better health and longer life is your gift to us!
But, I completely understand... I'm trying to save up a bit so that I can stock up on a few things, myself. Super happy for you, Dearest! 4 years without a stinky cigarette is a WONDERFUL thing, and gifts from friends.... well, there is just no equivalent! :)

View attachment 558121 Deb, 4 years is terrific! And inspirational!
Thanks sweetie!!! It just never gets old for me. I'm still so amazed that I don't smoke anymore. It still seems almost surreal. Don't think celebrating it will ever get old!

Quite a harrowing experience... the adrenaline dump alone took me two days to get over

It would have taken me a lot longer than two days to get over that... I still get itchy in some situations around guns because of something that happened in my youth...

Happy Fourth Vaperversary, Debadoo!
Can I tell Life that? ;)
Sure, but there's life out there too. Consult a reputable online galactic travel guide to help you pack appropriately for the planet of your choice, and bring plenty of charged batteries because charging stations can be mighty scarce in some locations.
