Hi everyone

So my girl messaged me Friday and said she got news that her dad in Perth was in hospital and he was dying.
had what was suspected to be a stroke - later turned out to be something with his brain and she was told he was going to die very soon.

So she called up and booked a bus ticket from where she is to Perth that was leaving 8am saturday.
Sadly she got a call from her dads sister that he passed away 2am saturday.
She still came up here on saturday and left today thursday.
She went and saw his body at the hospital on Tuesday and got some of his hair. She wants to put it or make some jewellery from it.

I lost my dad 25 years ago when I was 18 so have some familiarity with such a situation.
Been a bit of rollercoaster of emotions for her.

Don't think I'll be having any colonoscopies with friends, I prefer mine solo.
It's all good, I'm vaping, not smoking, and have enough supplies to last a bit before I need to reorder. I just can't taste the juice on the 1.2 coil. Ill refill it with something less smooth, next time. Absolutely can taste it on the .5. I'll get it figured eventually.
Is the 1.2 on your new set up?

So my foot is cramping up and my toes are going off at odd angles, and my wife is laughing too hard about it to help...

I slept till noon today, I was somewhat in shock from my doctors prognosis, I think.
However, it brings some inspiration as well. I am going to create a subtropic lush inspirational retreat in my own backyard, a very comfortable, well stocked studio, sitting area on that big back porch, and get started on all those artwork ideas that rattle around in my brain. Maybe take my kids to some lovely spot for some time to enjoy each other's company and spend as much time laughing as I can. That's the plan.
I had a job that was 55 hours a week, barely had time o catch up on laundry, get to the grocery, etc. it's an impossible existence. No down time. Burns you out.

No, it's on the other vaporfi model that I have, the vice. The mail will take a few weeks yet, I'm guessing. And I will certainly have questions, before I fire it up. Good thing I know where to ask!

Listening to Neil Diamond - for those familiar -

juice like I've said if your getting pre made then thats just a matter of going around until you find a company with enough juices that you like

Then there was the alpine glacier that receded, and revealed an iron age mine that had been covered by ice, complete with tools and packed lunches

Cool pics of her party.
Thanks. It was a fun day. :)
We have some amazing people here on ECF
You're absolutely right!!!
Emotions which I recognise and know are coming but you do the usual and listen
My dad died last April. It was really rough that first six months. Thank you for being there for her. Listening is what she needs most.
No down time. Burns you out.
It sure does. I was working 60 hour work weeks when I became disabled. It was all stress related. Too much. Don't need it. At a leisurely pace now and much better for it. Serene tranquility and laughter is my cure. Spending time with the people who love you is healing in so many ways.

Thinking if I break down and do some diy juice, I'd save on shipping. Trouble getting Nic base through customs, do you think?

My freedom smokes store for nic
get the 100mg 1 litre about $50 sometimes 40 USD plus shipping be close to $100 + AUD but will last you a long time
Ive had two delivered to me in Perth with no issues
You don't put it straight into your juice.
What i do is get 24 mls of the 100mg nic and add it to 76mls of vg to get a 24mg nic base and then use that which at the moment I'm on 4mg nic so making 150mls juice and I use 25mls of my 24 mg base to get 4mg nic in the juice.
Sounds complicated but we will help you :D

That is soooooooo wonderful!!!! Sorry she had to go through that though!

Hate that you have your other problems, but glad the COPD is minimal and that you were able to stop smoking when you did. I'd thought perhaps it was worse than that due to the 02. Very happy to hear it isn't.

oh kewl! Not sure of the year, but my 1/2 sister had a gold duster. I'll never forget one day being sideswiped in it by an actual duster (dirt devil). Amazing the power that lil thing had.

Nice!!! Me and my (now) ex had a 69 cuda for awhile. Loved that car!!! I so wish we could have afforded to restore it!!

she'lll definitely collapse.......cuz if she does it next week, I'm gonna whack her again wiff my fryin pan.......the really big one!!! [emoji38]

I think so.........she called me a lil bit earlier........they told her she's doing amazingly well! She didn't think so, because she feels like she's been there several days rather than only 2 days. She may be kickin .... and takin names tomorrow. They told her today they're too booked up for her to do the inpatient rehab there, but there is another place that they can send her that is supposedly even nicer and better food........but that's not the point. It freaked her out cuz she knows no one with a car she can get in......I told her if she does go to the other one.....she needs to make them transfer her by ambulance. Not sure how far it is, but it also needs to be close enough that Chey can get there fairly quickly or to be able to go to Kay's to get something she needs, then to the rehab without running out a tank of gas. And a very main point.........they didn't just book up today, this is something they should have told her before the surgery, not the day after!!!! But, she's been up taking short walks 3 times a day and doing some PT, and they just think she's doing great!! That's the most important part! But she feels more comfy bein able to be there where her Dr is and the surgeon is! The surgeon may do follow up checks at the other place, dunno.

Please don't give her any ideas!!!! [emoji38] But the parasailing did freak her out a lil more than she thought it would. Chey and another friend of hers came today and brought her a big vase of bright red tulips and a hyacinth plant. So she's happy she'll be able to have Chey help her plant the hyacinth. (think that's what it is).
She can ask her Dr for a referal to a place they can come.

I'm still way behind on the back porch but had to post a reply to this as it reminded me of something that happened long ago. When I was on one of my small boys, for you civies a small boy is any ship smaller than an aircraft carrier. Anyway, there was one young seaman that no one on the ship liked. He was one of those people that could irritate sandpaper. He went on leave one time and when he came back he was late and went to Captain's Mast and was restricted to the ship for a few days. As the Sheriff of the boat, I was the one he had to muster with 4 times a day. After one of the musters I mentioned to him that he seemed a bit more distracted and depressed than normal. He told me had gone home on leave to visit his parents. When he got to his parent's house he found out they had moved and no one knew where they had moved. At the next meeting I had with the Executive Officer, I told him about the reason for the young man's being late returning from leave was because he was looking for his parents. Unfortunately, the kid was the .... of more than a few jokes about being so irritating even his folks moved without telling him. Well, long story short, I managed to get the young man's restriction suspended. I had other run-ins with this young sailor but those are stories for another day.
My parents did that to my sister once. They had put the house up for sale, then sent het to church camp & when she came home they'd moved. Sold the house really fast.
