BITE YOUR TONGUE!!!, we just take their vape away for a day or two.
BITE YOUR TONGUE!!!, we just take their vape away for a day or two.
BITE YOUR TONGUE!!!
I think you're imagining one more to your personal tastes as opposed to the general consensus of the entire group......I thought our original plan was an escape from all the control.....not to be told by anyone at any time telling any of us we can't vape...Not really escape it... more to build one that is more to our own liking and personal tastes.Sure, there'll be a little conflict, but if anybody gets too uppity, we just take their vape away for a day or two.

Hahahaha! I was just thinking about calling up some of my old Navy buddies and getting us set up with a nuclear reactor for power...I'm sure we could get whatever we need for that from China, right?

And just who is this "we" of whom you speak? Does Fantasy Island have a ruling party?but if anybody gets too uppity, we just take their vape away for a day or two.![]()

NO THANK YOU !!! Solar power should be enough if we're not trying to build and live in towers, etc......![]()

Elevators, air conditioners and helicopters that run on 18650s.
a group that is appointed by general election of some sort...
Nah... then some smartaff's would want to change to an electoral 'college'... whatever T.H. that means...
Well, heck, the most efficient energy is wind energy, and with all this hot air there will never be a lack of power. By the way, where did you get the idea that solar energy is inefficient? Exxon?
Yes, but any society is going to have some form of rules. Infractions to those rules must be dealt with. There should be punishment equal to the infraction, of course. As determined by a judicial committee of some form.
I'm thinking it should be a group that is appointed by general election of some sort... either that or draw straws when the need arises?
Yep, that's what I figured .. dude wins lottery, springs for Island, decides The Golden Rule Must Apply ..
"He With the Gold, Rules" ..
Meet the new Boss, Same as the Old Boss ..
Now, my Island, kept as well hidden as Humanly Possible, is a Freewheeling Paradise of Like Minded Folks that just want to live out their final days in Peace and Tropical Tranquility, indulging in what ever their favorite form of Relaxant might be.. we would simply have a nice Hut, separated from the main compound, where we could send someone for a "Time Out" if things got too rowdy .. said Hut would still be fully equipped .. and, "Time Outs" would never last more than 2 Hours ..

Might I recommend a pebble bed reactor with helium collant. Pretty much meltdown proof. Course going to need a little engineering support. Nuclear is too damn expensive. Solar/wind probably is the way to go.Yes, but any society is going to have some form of rules. Infractions to those rules must be dealt with. Solar power is finicky and troublesome... not to mention rather inefficient. We're gonna have so many battery chargers running for our mods that we'd never be able to turn on the lights.I'm thinking it wouldn't be too hard to get our hands on an old reactor from a defunct Russian submarine...

That's gonna be a lotta 18650s! Maybe we can get a bulk discount......
By the way, where did you get the idea that solar energy is inefficient?
As of October of last year... "Panasonic claimed the crown at 22.5 percent module efficiency." Personally, I wouldn't call that terribly efficient...
We're IN, Kazz!!!Anybody want to chip in so that we can just buy a deserted island out in the Pacific somewhere?
We'll bring the boat............And of course, we're gonna have to have one heck of a pier for fishing when we just don't feel like takin' the boat out.
Good question... solar cell efficiency is up from ~12-15% not too many years ago to >20% now... and steadily climbing.
Aw, aw! I'm sorry to hear that. You're not alone in that, though. I have a bad habit of doing the same thing at work. My shoulder will ALWAYS remind me about the dumb stuff that I do.so now i'm back to using the walker and pain meds....and set my recovery back by a couple of weeks...
Somebody just slap me upside my head....
As the article itself says, such claims are mostly bluster and creative math. Regardless, I'm talking about overall cost efficiency, which is a different animal. Cost efficiency is LIKEWISE hard to figure, because it depends on projected life and waste disposal costs, among other things, but here is an article and a graph comparing the cost efficiency of various power sources:World's Most Efficient Rooftop Solar Panel
