Oh Peach, I am so sorry for your loss. I know you thought highly of him and he had such a promising future. My condolences to you, yours, his family and friends.
Thanks. A couple of the porchers had met him. I pm'd them about the situation. I wasn't going to post this here because there is just so much tragedy in the world these days, I didn't want to contribute. But the porchers are a huge support network and I needed the love.
Peach, you and RS were such a positive influence with him, and he knew that and appreciated it fully. Yes, his life was cut tragically short, and he left this world a better man because of you and RS.So much tragedy, I had decided not to share this here, but can't help myself. We lost a very dear friend yesterday to a dirt bike accident. He had been living with us. I asked him what he was thinking about when this picture was taken during our vacation a few weeks ago. He said he was praying prayers of gratitude for the beautiful day. He was thirty-four.~R.I.P. Gabriel.
He came home from work about 2 pm and grabbed a couple of sodas. I asked if they had knocked off early. He said no, that they were working down the street and he would be back in a little while. He was a landscaper. He didn't come home from work last evening and his family came by today. I'm crushed. Devastated.
He had such a bright future and had accomplished wondrous things. I admit, I honestly had some reservations when I first met him, but he was such a good man, a likable person, and was working hard to do all the next right things. He made us laugh every day and was truly an angel regrowing his wings. We loved him like one of our own kids. It just seems like the only times I can make to show up are when I'm bearing bad news. I read thru posts when I can, but I can't keep up with everything that's going on. My head is too full right now. The grief is overwhelming.
I'm going to drop this little blog post right here about a mini-vacation we had recently. We took Gabriel with us. The first pic in the post is like the one I refer to above. Ironically, It's titled:
Leaving the World Behind

We did and he did. Thank you, Cathy.Oh Peach, I am so sorry for your loss. I know you thought highly of him and he had such a promising future. My condolences to you, yours, his family and friends.
You know that as well as I, but it hurts. We were supposed to be keeping him safe. He had paid off all his debts and made all his amends, and was saving to buy a truck. He was to get his license back on Tuesday. Planned to eventually buy a trailer and start his own landscaping business. Chasing that adrenaline rush was what killed him. In one impulsive moment, he decided to go against his better judgement, which he had been working so hard to gain control of, and got onto an unfamiliar dirt bike, traveling too fast, hit a palm tree and snapped his neck. The coroner said it happened instantly and he did not suffer.Peach, I know that he's in a much better place and that, strange as it sounds, the timing was, perhaps, good. Tho he was young, his life lately was much better in every way lately, than the past, much of it thanks to you and RS and a lot of other friends of his. Take comfort in the fact that you and RS were a great influence for him...he couldn't have had better people in his life...
Thank you all. He did appreciate us and treated us with utmost respect. It hurts so bad.Peach, you and RS were such a positive influence with him, and he knew that and appreciated it fully. Yes, his life was cut tragically short, and he left this world a better man because of you and RS.
You already know how very sorry I am!
Rest assured, my friend, you have it!![]()
He loved that place and was looking forward to going back. Best scallops he had ever eaten. Said seafood didn't get any better than that.At least the three of you shared blessings and strengthened each other! With your sharing with us, look at how many lives have or could be touched by his existence.
I'm so glad to have briefly met Gabe! One of my lasting impressions was his love for seafood <insert fond lil' smile here>...
Just so sorry for your loss. Prayers, comfort and love to you, RS and Gabriel's family!
Amen!I am now further convinced that the world has gone stupid, not crazy, stupid. People targeting police, who for the most part just want to protect us, people waving guns in the street, no respect for those in authority, no brains in those in authority, the revolution is coming, idiocracy is coming, get out of the cities cause that's where the stupid people will congregate. And as for the idiots in Dallas and houston, look for some good old fashioned texas whoopass to come down on them.
Sent from a dark, twisted corner of the back porch, covered in cobwebs and slightly damp.

I am so sorry for your loss. He will always be in your hearts and memories, to hold close. Hugs.Yep, remebering the good times we shared helps.
Hello,Woohoo! What nice timing to kick off another new porch on the anniversary of the originals. Nice opening Yiddle. Long live the porches!
I am sharing this link to the Acadian Wind Symphony. This is the group that I went to hear the other night, and I found this link by Internet accident.
Anyway, this is just one of the groups that my daughter plays with. They are made up of folks from many professions, and lot of them, like my daughter are still active in the music profession in some way, shape, form or fashion.
You will see my daughter in the beginning of the video playing the piano. She also plays flute and piccolo.

Hello,
I am new here. I am a weary old timer chasing the pipe tobacco dragon. Thought I'd stop by and rest my bones awhile. Thanks for the hospitality!
