Well we're almost ready to go. Man I can't believe how much vape stuff I have to get ready for 5 weeks. I'm ready for anything. If you guys don't hear from me for a while you'll know AH wouldn't let me hook up to his WiFi. All we gotta get loaded is the stuff for the fridge and a few odds and ends and hitch the car up and we'll be off in a cloud of vapor. Can't wait to get over and try out those Tobeco's. Man this SS sure makes life easier. Thought I might experiment with a couple flavors over there. I wonder how Blueberry and Watemelon would go together. I bought one of those Coilmaster 521 Tabs so I can check my resistance burn off the crud and build on a nice platform. So yeehaw put some good music on and hit the road. Ginny is going to try drivin on the freeway, we got about 140 miles of that then cut over to a state highway to go over the mountains for another 230 miles. That way we avoid Seattle and Bellvue. They might have to put me in Bellvue by the time we get there. This thing really tires me out drivin it especially in traffic which is why we avoid Seattle. 2am there looks like rush hour here. Nothing like driving a 22000 lbs rig and having people cut you off. Well talk to ya all later. Love ya all.

Wishing you a safe trip and a great time there when you arrive......:D

What can I say? I've either been fooled, or I'm right. A pop-up tells me when the phone connects and it says "connected to CenturyLink". In Settings it shows the same, and when I'm not connected to CenturyLink l'm not connected at all.

I have not disabled data but I have it set to cut off short of my monthly allowance of 2.5 Gb. My data use since I got the phone on Friday is under 300 Mb, most of which was used within my first hour of ownership for downloading apps. Cricket charges app downloads and updates as data usage, according to page 46257 of my service agreement, even when they're done via WiFi.

So obviously I done been fooled, right?
That is the consensus from you, my brother, my neighbor and my other neighbor's horses.

eh... I never know... turn off the data for an hour... if it still works, I will be happy you are not paying extra just to talk to rock-heads like myself.

He

Hello,
I am new here. I am a weary old timer chasing the pipe tobacco dragon. Thought I'd stop by and rest my bones awhile. Thanks for the hospitality!

Welcome to the porch Pumpkinhead. So what are you vaping and what are you vaping with?

@clnire, Ender's Game was my first foray into sci fi/fantasy. How I loved that book! It was the beginning of the end; I read the series and then immersed myself in the genre for a bunch of years! My favorite of Card's books is Songmaster. I also really enjoyed Stephen R Donaldson's Chronicles of Thomas Covenant and Tad Williams' Otherland. You've probably read both series, but if not, I highly recommend. :)

Good morning, Porchers!

I have not read Donaldson nor Williams. Making a note to check them out. Sci Fi/fantasy is not my normal genre for reading, but sometimes ya just gotta get away from real life!

This is music to my ears! How wonderful, 3mg. What's your favorite thing about your new home?
I think the most basic. I had given up on housekeeping there. Now I actually can control the dust and dirt without getting sick from trying to clean it up.

More opportunities to get exercise, although my left hip was bothering me last night from too much all at once. More room to work on quilting (a whole closet devoted to fabrics etc) and other activities. There I didn't have enough room to do much more than sit at the computer.

Oh, and my brother's books are all available on Amazon for $2.99 each (Kindle). Search author MichaelOlive, The Angel of Death series, starting with "The Angel of Death and the Demon" and The Death Whisperer series, starting with "The Death Whisperer".

Thing is, he has a PhD in microbiology, eight patents, and numerous professional publications on microbiology and genetics. He also was a professional bass guitarist, writes a blog on guitarists (that's where I have found some of the best guitar music DMichaelOlive) and a self confessed science, art, music and wine geek. That's my Big Brother!!! (and my only blood sibling, poor guy).

Donaldson, then. He's closer to Orson Scott Card. But if you have a chance, Songmaster really is a great read.

:). More and better, then. Good! I'm happy for you, 3mg.
If I had to pay extra to talk with you blockheads, it would be a bargain at half the cost.
That is so sweet, Bells.
