I dunno, biggie. Seems like the vid with the other one was cleaner. Mebbe the filter?
I've told you more than I know already. Anyway, my filters for the Phantom won't work on the X Star; pretty sure that was intentional, since they could have easily made it so the same filters would work on both competing models.

I thought the old unimproved ones were pretty good.

That they were, but from what you said about the new and improved drone, I just thought... ;)

Yeah, they're in cahoots with Tiffen...

Although, to be fair, lenses with different max apertures (and otherwise the same) generally have different size rings.

I'm obstinate enough, but: "this will hurt me more than it hurts you" was definitely applicable and I'm not that much into pain. I will admit I did enjoy getting away for awhile, even though I didn't go anywhere except the grocery.

I got an Autel Robotics X-Star Premium. The cameras have the same specs, and the difference is only incremental, but the X-Star camera seems to have a better sensor and seems to deal better with changes in light, and seems to deal better with reflective surfaces and with the sun. One of these days I'll get both quads up in the air at the same time so that an exact video comparison can be made.

The other significant difference is very much to my liking: the X-Star software enables "point and click" waypoint flights. Except for the landing, the entire video below was shot by selecting 3 points on a Google map and hitting "go" in the app.

I thought the old unimproved ones were pretty good.

After hearing Kinga Glyk's bass guitar version, Eric Clapton's original of "Tears In Heaven" leaves me feeling like it's missing something. But the story behind the song is powerful. Clapton wrote it while still in deep despair after his 4-year-old son fell from a 53rd-story window and died in NYC in 1991.

This morning's flight with my new X-Star drone. No filter on the camera lens... I always use one with the Phantom drone. For the first time, I know for sure that the farmer across the creek actually grows something. I can't tell what it is. Could be collards, could be corn, could be tobacco.

Excellent!

Still alive. Don't know if I told you all but this last weekend was the first attempt at fixing the dash A/C in the motorhome. Pumped it down, fixed what we thought was the leak and charged it up. Icy cold blowing from the dash vents. All good, butttt waiiiiitttt! Got into the beast this morning and started it up. No cold air. Guages on once again. No charge. Broke out the freon leak detector and did a serious trace on the whole system. The a/c compressor is leaking like a sieve around the shaft where it goes into the clutch assembly. Ordered a new compressor and receiver/dryer and it should be here in a few days. We are keeping it so it's best that I fix it 100% correctly. While I have it apart I'll take the hoses to the local rubber shop and have them make me new ones. I already have a assortment of air conditioning system o-rings so I won't need them. Oh well, another 3 or 400 dollars down the drain. Just thought I'd check in and let you all know what I've been up to. Miss you all. :)

And a Cheery Afternoon to All!

Another wonderful combination of video & music, Dave! I'd have to say the same about the picture quality/filter comments but the flight itself seemed much smoother and the Charleston moves at the end were GREAT!

Gosh darned, Matt! Sorry that motor home is givin' ya so much greif! As you said, it's gonna be 100% top notch when you get it finished though. I guess that's the silver lining to your led zeppelin. ;) :)

Now that I'm ruminating, did I not come up with a Solo Cup cell phone speaker system a few years ago .. ?? :)
Downloaded. Thank you. Another toy to play with. Your problem-solving genius knows no bounds.

After all that work to fix it up so that it would sell, now you changed your mind? Good idea! You certainly hid that comment deep within a wall of text.

I just wanted to share this from the FP. Here's a link to a security system check that you may want to use BEFORE making your next on line purchase from a new to you or unfamiliar site. Special thanks to Retired1 for providing this link. ;)

SSL Server Test (Powered by Qualys SSL Labs)

Here's just a few of the sites I checked (after the fact  ).

Heartland Vapes (Nic, PG, VG etc.) = A
Wizard Labs (Nic, PG, VG, Flavors, Labware etc.) = B
ElementVapes (Mods, Tanks, Batteries, etc.) = A
Hoosierecigs (Mods, Tanks, Batteries, etc.) = A-
J-Wraps (Mod Wraps, Trays, Stands, Cup Holders, etc.) = B-

Anything above C is reasonably secure. Once you get a C, dig deeper. ;)

Another wonderful combination of video & music

Last August or so, I think it was, Dave put up a video that I later decided to overdub on a lark because of a Brain Flash at the time .. I don't think you had joined us yet, so here, in case you want to check it :: (these are all repeats for those that were around at the time, no need for anyone to waste their precious time ..) .. these are simply links to my Cloud account, which I prefer these days due to Mr / Ms Google YouTube policies .. :)

drone.wmv

As well as a couple installments of what I like to call "Back Porch Radio"

Thanks for the links Willie! I'll be checking those out soon (since things seem a little slow around here right now anyway. ;))

My Swiss buddy is a hard core Blues lover anfd made his own guitar out of a Cigar Box, just like the Delta Blues guys used to do. Gonna have to try and dig up that pic. ;)

FOUND IT!
(ironically, just as Debadoo posted!)
My friend, Cyril at his home with his Cuban Cigar Box Guitar...........
Cyrils Cigar Box Guitar Resized.JPG

The table and benches are single log slabs and we've shared many good times at that table. ;)
He's quite the craftsman. The table is nearly 4 feet wide!

Anything above C is reasonably secure. Once you get a C, dig deeper.

If you get a C, I'd probably not provide any information as there will be serious issues with the cipher routines used on the server.

D or F? No bloody way. And if you've ordered from a server in the past that shows a failure (such as an OpenSSL issue), I'd probably start taking steps to replace the card used as the server is most likely compromised.

Hey, homemade vinegar does take a while.

Very impressive!

Pshaw, dey were excellent and entertaining; especially wid your soundtracks!

Dave, said it before and will again, let's try to get a get-together together! I know we are much polar opposed in da 'other' arenas. BUT, dat doesn't diminish my appreciation of your 'civil' persona (including your dance moves)!

Just thought I'd check in and let you all know what I've been up to. Miss you all. :)

Hey Matt, you're startin' to run outta excu$e$.. And yepper, we're missin' ya too! <man hug>
