Just a FWIW, it's NOT a documentary. Drama about fictional (mostly) puter companies in the 80's fighting to be the best at what they do.
(going into their 3rd season)

Harley & The Davidson's started on Discovery Channel last night. I'd lost track of time & forgot to watch or record until about 45 minutes into it. It's a 5 night thing. I'm sure it will play more than once, so I have it set to maybe catch that entire 1st part. Chock full of history!

Holy Cannoli! That was a LOT of stuff to catch up on... I didn't quote everything, but it sure looks like I've got a pretty good list of stuff to comment on! LOL

@Janet H and @MikeE3 AWESOME pictures!! Thank y'all so much for sharing!!!

Thank you so much. Yep, he's much better now. He just lights up a room with his smile. And Huck is doing great so far. He's gaining weight and looking like a baby instead of a newborn. We're going out to see him in early Oct.

That is GREAT! I'm very happy to hear that the Miles Man is doing better, and that he and Huck are doing well! :) And YAAAYYYYY!! Y'all get to go see Huck in about a month! That is wonderful! :)

Kaez, I am so very sorry to read this news. You two are in our hearts and prayers. Your strength, faith and love for each other is so wonderful.

 Thank you, Miss! It was pretty tough news to take, and we're still processing, but we'll get through it. By the Grace of God, and with the love and support of our friends and family, anything it possible!

A teeny ray of sunshine! But I guess that's better than nothing at all!

Definitely helped. That rental car was $75/day... for a base model Jeep Compass. That was a lot of vehicle to move with just a tiny little four cylinder engine... Dealership loaned us a fully loaded 2016 Volvo V60 with turbo and all-wheel-drive! This think is kinda awesome! It's crazy fast and has little lights to warn me when someone is in my blind spot! The new cars have gotten FANCY!

Kaz, am so sad to read this news. Continued prayers for both of you!

Well my days and nights are all mixed up now.......last night was up till 3 am on storm watch and then after everything settled down, I crashed and slept off and on all day. Just woke up now when normally this is the time I'd be going to bed.
We even saw the sun today, and I'm very grateful that Hermine bypassed us but feel badly for the folks who sustained property damage and lots of flooding......fortunately, no loss of life......and, for that, we can always be grateful.

Thank you for the prayers, Gracie!

Sorry to hear that you had a couple of restless and stressful days and nights, but very, very, very grateful to hear that you and the rest of our wonderful porch family were spared from the worst of the storm! :)

((((((((((Kaezz)))))))))))))) I'm so sorry darlin!! I can't even begin to imagine what y'all are going through. But I do understand that sometimes it's not worth continuing. When my dad had colon cancer, they knew they couldn't stop it, only prolong it. He took one 3 week series of radiation and it made him so sick, he was absolutely miserable. He decided he didn't want to go through any more of it. I hated it, but totally understood. He'd rather have a shorter time where he felt halfway decent, than more time being miserable. Hope the trial doc can give y'all some hope. And don't you ever feel bad about dropping bad news, or "bringing us down" We love you too darlin....and that's what family is for. We share your in the good times, and your heartache in the bad times.
I've been missin our birdy too!

{{{{{{{{{{Deb}}}}}}}}}} Thank you, Darlin'. I can completely understand it, too. I can certainly attest to the thought that the treatment is worse than the disease... all for a hope for more time... not a guarantee. We're still hoping for the best and considering options. We had a good long talk this weekend. She's been worrying about what decisions to make and how it's going to affect me, her mom, the rest of her family, and her friends. I told her that this is the time for her to be completely selfish. That she needs to make the decisions based on her, and not on anyone else. As long as she makes a decision with her own best interest in heart, then I will support her absolutely. And so will anyone else... I'll make sure of that. We talked, we cried, we held each other close, and then we ate stuff that was bad for us and watched TV and laughed. All in all, it was a pretty decent weekend. :)

Hiya everyone! Been lurking around the two porches for a while. I'll stop by from time to time. Seems there are many posters from Florida…could it be because so many of us retire down here.

@Kaezziel I'm so sorry about your wife. I cant imagine what that must be like. Hubby is my best friend, we've been married over 44 years, and I know I couldnt live without him. (((((Hugs))))) and good luck with the trial.

Welcome to da porches, Miss Bea! I see that you've become acquainted with quite a few of our wonderful and caring residents. :) I'm very happy that you've stepped out from lurking around and started making yourself at home here!

Thank you for the kind words and hugs. My Bride and I just celebrated our 17th anniversary. We have been constant companions for the vast majority of it. I absolutely love her with all of my heart, and it has pained me more than I can say to have watched her go through this fight so far... and I'm sure that we still have a ways to go. We continue to pray for an answer that will bring healing and more time together, but we are trying to enjoy the time that we have together with as much love and happiness as we can find. :)

That is about all they are useful for. Very nice.

How about using that to store green tomatoes at the end of the growing season? Wash them in a bit of bleach-water. Stuff the nylons. Fully visible, ready to be freed for eating when they turn red. If one starts rotting, it won't infect its neighbors.

Noooooooo.... don't wait for them to ripen. Batter them in corn meal and fry them! Fried green tomatoes are AWESOME!!

 Again, Thank you, Gracie!! It is such a blessing to have you and so many of our porchers praying for and supporting us!

Just a FWIW, it's NOT a documentary. Drama about fictional (mostly) puter companies in the 80's fighting to be the best at what they do.

I haven't seen the show yet. (May need to dig back and start from the beginning.) But AMC has been putting out some really great content the last several years... The Walking Dead, Hell On Wheels, Breaking Bad, Fear The Walking Dead... and I feel like I'm forgetting a few others. They've really stepped up their game, and I really should check out Halt and Catch Fire. Thanks for the reminder!

It's actually a 3-night thing, Darlin'. And I noticed on the guide yesterday that they'll be replaying them quite a bit... one day (I think it's this Saturday, but I'm not sure) they'll play all three episodes back to back. I've got it set to record on the DVR and will probably wait until I have all three before I watch them. It really seemed like it was going to be a great show, from what I saw in the commercials.

I am not a southerner. Never tried them.

My HA's got turned up an awesome amount on Friday, and now I have horrible static in my left ear. They are still under warrantee. Still this is not good. She didn't show me my new audiogram.

Depending on make and model you may be able to adjust them with your cell phone. I've been able to do that with my MIL's.
Nope. BTE. Left switch controls mode, right controls volume. Not as bothersome when I have the volume down to two beeps (three is normal, and one is just about nothing). I think I may be reaching the max that this model can deliver.

You're missin' out, Darlin'! Slice 'em about 1/2" thick, pat 'em dry with a paper towel, dredge them in egg, then cornmeal, and fry 'em in a skillet. Great by themselves, as a side, or in a sammich with bacon. :D

Sorry to hear that the HA's aren't set quite right. If you can't adjust them like David said, is there a support line you can call for them? Or how quick can they see you again to adjust them for you?

I'm about ready to do that, for real.... OH! I thought you were talking about the hearing aid.

Nope. I think the thing is going kaput. Not a matter of adjustment. I will be going back in two weeks to get new earmolds. If I call, they will send me a loaner, and I'll send them the leftie so that they can figure out what to do with it. :-x

That sounds like a PITA. Probably a good thing that you're getting fitted for new ones soon. Which just reminded me; I need to go in to get fitted for new orthotics... my feet have been killing me from the plantar fasciitis... I just hate to deal with scheduling an appointment and going in there to deal with them.

Thanks for the info, Kazz! Gotta change my settings to catch it all at once for sure.

There might be something causing interference?

Fried green tomatoes are fantastic!

Any time, Sweetheart! Just check the guide to verify what day they're doin' them back to back... my fuzzy brain doesn't remember exactly... ;)

I tested that theory. Went into a room with nothing electronic, and no significant change. If it was picking up that much interference, that would still be a malfunction.
