There is no real reason to crochet lace today. Go to antique stores and sort through piles and piles of old doilies. I have a collection of twelve framed on my livingroom wall. I have shared them in the HO.

Here are some pix:

Arthritis of the thumb (there is a fancy name for the particular problem) forced me to this alternative, and I am glad it did.

They're gorgeous! Did you frame them yourself?

Now you're just trying to mess with my OCD. :p I'm gonna be more worried about making the backside look decent than I am making sure the front side looks right!

Nah, nobody will see the back if you're going to frame it. You gotta learn the front first. That'll be enough for your OCD to worry about.

soak.......stretch.....scrape.......soak.......stretch.....scrape.......ad infinitum!

No wonder I still have dat stubborn lil' ol' phart wattle...

Yep I read about it on the internet. What I'm thinking is if we did intercept it the fallout would still be devistating.

Chances are, if intercepted early 'nuff, just blazing hardware headin' to da bottom of da Pacific. TBH, kinda surprised dat 'we' allowed dat DPRK missile get to near 300 miles from Japan.

Bottom line, in spite of scary news releases/headlines, never underestimate our military capabilities; pols are 'nother story!

I was going to drop in but my infusion yesterday was a real bummer.

As long as ya don't drop out. Hang in dere, Sweetheart! We're here fer ya...

I was going to drop in but my infusion yesterday was a real bummer. I got there & they had scheduled me for an office visit as well as the infusion, which I was not prepared for in my budgeting. The news threw me into an immediate panic attack & I couldn't even think whether or not I could pay it. So I paid for the infusion h told them Ivd pay for the office visit later since they hadn't made the scheduling clear. Infusion was ready for me at oncen so there wasn't time to fill out the paperwork they always want for the office visit. I got my pre-infusion meds which knock me out. The RN trying to get me stuck for the infusion, & the nurse wants the paperwork for the office visit, & because my writing hand is busy getting stuck three times I still can't fill it out. I'd walked in the door less than 10 minutes before. So the nurse sits down h starts asking me the questions on the paperwork. I'm fighting a panic attack & couldn't get it together enough to answer her. She finally left. Then the bloodwork vampire shows up, & wants me to come to the lab for her to stick me. She leaves, & the PA comes in h shevs ready to do the office visit exam. I still don't have a tube in a vein for the infusion. This is all in the first 10 minutes. They see what's going on, they see I can't get to them yetn but I had 4 people pulling me in different directions for the first 10 minutes I was there. I was there for 4 1/2 hours. They knew that & could have waited. Top that off with a steroid cocktail.
When I left, my head was spinning, I was groggy from the pre-infusion meds, h on a steroid high. I sat in the car with the ac blowing on me, & chain vaped with deep breathing. I'd been in a panic attack for +4 hours. I got it together, cleared my head, looked at my hands on the steering wheel, & they were full of nice fat veins that had not been there before, even though I knew I was hydrated enough. I ran my errandsn thinking about how that could be. Came home & did some research h guess what causes your circulation to choke off? Anxiety! It shuts down breathibg, bloodflow, & some brain function. Itvs the fight or flight thing. Your body shuts off everything except what you need to flee or fight whatever the perceived threat is. No wonder they can never find a vein.

Oh wow, that's awful. That's the kind of situation where you could have used an advocate. Glad that day is over. If they try that double booking again just say NO! Not on the same day unless it's before the treatment. Sometimes they get caught up in the process and forget all about what the patient's going through.

I'm going to tell you what happened while I was out watering tonight, but you may not believe it. I still can't and I was there! While watering my tomato plants I noticed movement on the ground off to my left. Turns out it was a little bird. He was buried in the dirt, head first, belly up, up to his legs! He was struggling, trying to get out, but he was in tight, like someone planted him! Just the tail end sticking out! I started to dig the dirt away with my finger, but was afraid I'd break his neck so I dug my fingers under him and popped him out. Poor thing couldn't hardly fly, just flopped off and sat there panting. He finally flew off, but not very far above the ground. Still can't figure out how he got in that position. Very, very weird, but so happy I happened to be there to help him out.

Up here, the native women actually chew the hydes to get them cleaned and soft. Here's a pic of "The Chugach Dragon", created by a blade smith friend of mine. It's wings are made entirely of chewed caribou hyde. View attachment 597651
View attachment 597659
The blade is nearly 7 feet long in total and has "dragon eye" patterns worked into it's Damascus steel. The purple "boulders" are blobs of hand blown glass made by his wife. They are larger than bowling balls. His name is Virgil Englund and the photos were taken in the Chugach National Park, just outside Anchorage.

Wow ... an amazing piece of art. Lots of talent and skill went into that piece.

@2legsshrt ... you always seem to be up for trying new flavors. How about some Real Flavors from Walmart. I saw this link in another thread. It was also mention the head of Walmart is a vaper, so maybe that's why these are available (on-line only though, not in the stores).

"Real Flavors" - Walmart.com

Not so much as a gentle breeze around here all day. Would have to have been a real freak occurence.
Is there a tree overhead from where the bird could have fallen from its nest?

Battled a drone and lost?

Neighbor shot it with a pellet gun?

Wow interesting, I bookmarked the page. I am going to give the 10 that I ordered a try that sound real interesting. Got the link from SteveS45. Pretty good price and he sounds like he likes flavors like I do that can be used as standalone or mixed with each other. Thats going to take me a while for sure. Seems like I have 1 or 2 good days and 1 or 2 bad days so might take a while. Hey that Oring Store is sure a good place to get Orings cheap. Changing the 3 on the head of my authentic K5 really made a difference. Now I know where to get them.

What I saw of them $8 bucks for 1oz definitely sounds like a good price.

Crazy weather here we are having an Indian Summer. Have to use heat in the morning and AC in the afternoon. It was 35 this am and 75 in the pm tomorrow and tonight 42 and 79 supposed to stay that way all the way through next week. Time to get the RV winterized, septic pumped, furnace serviced. Since we are supposed to have an El nino or whatever kind of winter with lots of snow and colder temps think I will get the motorhome filled up with gas and propane so if we have to use it we can.

It does not mention that from what I read..., but there are some vapor shops also carrying the brand.
Yabutt TFA sells both.
(not that the safe ones are proven safe)
