The way I see it there are going to be enough people vote for Gary Johnson that will come from the Hillary camp that are there because they think she is the least of 2 evils. If that happens it could win the election for Trump. And yes we will all still be here the day after but 4 years after who knows. The people in the Trump camp are there because they want to be the people in the Hillary camp are there because they think she would be better then Trump not good but better and along comes Johnson who has enough supporters that it could very well throw the election right into Trumps lap.

Just a little History .. ;)

The last strong showing by an Independent was Ross Perot in 1992, who garnered 19% of the Popular Vote, yet no Electoral Votes .. the winner-take-all manner of allocating a state's electors always decreases the ability of Independents to gain any real traction .. it's the way the System is set up ..

The lessons of Perot show how quickly things can change for a candidate so singularly focused on his own money, his own ego and his own image. As well, the Demographics of the Country have changed fairly dramatically since 1992 ..

Quick reply to Semi before checking out.

Virgil is a world renowned blade smith (Google him) and one of his most notable customers is the Sultan of Brunei. This particular piece was purchased by the guy who started (don't know if he still holds major interest) Pick Your Part. He has a very large hunting lodge in Michigan (maybe UW knows) and this is the center piece in the main building. The handle of the sword is walrus ivory, large crystal pommel, brass and other precious jewels. I don't recall the price tag but I believe it was close to 50K or more. The bones and claws, etc. of the dragon are whale, moose, ram, water buffalo, bison, sheep and bear. The neck is large moose leather "scales". And it was a biotch getting the damn thing packed up there, lemme tell ya!!! :D :D :D

Okay, gonna run now.........
 V V

Up here, the native women actually chew the hydes to get them cleaned and soft. Here's a pic of "The Chugach Dragon", created by a blade smith friend of mine. It's wings are made entirely of chewed caribou hyde. View attachment 597651

The blade is nearly 7 feet long in total and has "dragon eye" patterns worked into it's Damascus steel. The purple "boulders" are blobs of hand blown glass made by his wife. They are larger than bowling balls. His name is Virgil Englund and the photos were taken in the Chugach National Park, just outside Anchorage.
That is an amazing and hauntingly beautiful work of art.

Hey, can you gum caribou hide instead of chewing it?

My current interest in tanned leather is related to finding a belt that will last more than a few months before it starts to fall apart. So, I ordered a one-piece leather belt (rather than the kind that are layered). It might be out in my mailbox.

Johnson did what to me was a really truthful mea culpa, and we obviously don't disqualify candidates no matter what they say.

Just want to let you all know.......you missed out on a truly funny schnauzer story this evening....:D
I was going to drop in but my infusion yesterday was a real bummer. I got there & they had scheduled me for an office visit as well as the infusion, which I was not prepared for in my budgeting. The news threw me into an immediate panic attack & I couldn't even think whether or not I could pay it. So I paid for the infusion h told them Ivd pay for the office visit later since they hadn't made the scheduling clear. Infusion was ready for me at oncen so there wasn't time to fill out the paperwork they always want for the office visit. I got my pre-infusion meds which knock me out. The RN trying to get me stuck for the infusion, & the nurse wants the paperwork for the office visit, & because my writing hand is busy getting stuck three times I still can't fill it out. I'd walked in the door less than 10 minutes before. So the nurse sits down h starts asking me the questions on the paperwork. I'm fighting a panic attack & couldn't get it together enough to answer her. She finally left. Then the bloodwork vampire shows up, & wants me to come to the lab for her to stick me. She leaves, & the PA comes in h shevs ready to do the office visit exam. I still don't have a tube in a vein for the infusion. This is all in the first 10 minutes. They see what's going on, they see I can't get to them yetn but I had 4 people pulling me in different directions for the first 10 minutes I was there. I was there for 4 1/2 hours. They knew that & could have waited. Top that off with a steroid cocktail.
When I left, my head was spinning, I was groggy from the pre-infusion meds, h on a steroid high. I sat in the car with the ac blowing on me, & chain vaped with deep breathing. I'd been in a panic attack for +4 hours. I got it together, cleared my head, looked at my hands on the steering wheel, & they were full of nice fat veins that had not been there before, even though I knew I was hydrated enough. I ran my errandsn thinking about how that could be. Came home & did some research h guess what causes your circulation to choke off? Anxiety! It shuts down breathibg, bloodflow, & some brain function. Itvs the fight or flight thing. Your body shuts off everything except what you need to flee or fight whatever the perceived threat is. No wonder they can never find a vein.

Any reprisals against this guy should come from the people by way of their wallets. Americans have a right to express themselves, and those who disagree have the right to take their business to another sports team/restaurant/store/tv channel/movie/whatever

Sent from a dark, twisted corner of the back porch, covered in cobwebs and slightly damp.
Amen. If he wants to sit on the bench let him sit there. The entire game.

I'm so far behind that I don't know if I'll ever catch up, but I'm just popping my head in to let y'all know I am alive.

The new base has been a HUGE adjustment. Going from 4 helicopters to 24 helicopters is NOT for the faint of heart! I worked like a pack mule this past week. I am moving a hella load of materials in and out of that base!!

I'm now dealing with 15 mechanics instead of 3. I do get to tell them to get the *&^% out of my parts room whenever I get ready.

Monday I'm going back out for ten days. Anybody got a shovel to dig my grave???
No shovels unless it's for one of the other guys!

The Moonwalk is HARD! For the first time, I'm thinking that eventually I can learn it. If you want to see my fledgling effort, just go to the last 10 seconds of the video.

I feel like the guy is making a stupid decision and throwing a multi million dollar career down the toilet, he's getting a lot of attention mostly bad. I think he could find a way to make his stand in a more constructive way. I think he is disrespecting me and all other Americans that feel that even with all it faults America is still the best country in the world. There are a lot of things that this country does that I don't agree with or think are downright wrong but maybe he should think about what would happen if he was living in China or Russia or many other countries and made a protest like that. It wouldn't be pretty. I think he is disrespecting all vets and all people currently in the military doing what is asked of them whether it be what they feel is right or wrong. I just don't think he is going about this the right way. But if he wants to throw his life and career down the toilet that's his choice, he does live in America and he has that right.
Amen!

I feel that America is the best country in the world, and Kaepernick is not disrespecting me. In fact, Kaepernick says that he would be neglecting his rights as an American if he did NOT exercise those rights, and I find that gutsy.

Kaepernick's actions are not in violation of the law, and are not even in violation of NFL regulations. Any of us who would find a way around the law if it became impossible to acquire the things needed to vape should consider those facts.
It doesn't have to be written in law for it to be either right or wrong. He has the legal right to do this. I don't think he's being wise. There are other ways he could exercise his right.

Good for you! And that reminds me... I need to redo my fork lift certification soon... ;)

Hahahahaha! I see what you did there! ;) [emoji38][emoji38] It would be pretty cool, though. I'd also like to learn how to cross-stitch and crochet...
I can teach you those, too. But I learned from books. Now days, You Tube is your friend. Hand quilting is easier to learn 1:1.

Mama crochets all the time. Everything from afghans to little doilies. She's made some really cool things like that! In theory, cross stitch seems simple... then ya watch someone do it, and reality kicks in. I'm sure that one would take me a lot of practice.
Nope! Get a pattern, the cloth, the threads, the needles. Fold your cloth in half & in half again the other way. Pinch the corner where they all come together. That marks the center of your cloth. The pattern should have a cross in that spot. Start in the middle & work your way out to the edges. No knotsd. Leave a 1inch tail on the underside of the cloth when you first start, then as you stich along just cover it with your stiches. From that point you just start new thread changes by running you needle along under the stiches just before the new one you want to start. That buries that thread end & holds it in place. No tight stiches. It makes little gaps where the x's meet.

Thanks for that Willie. It completely slipped my mind about the electoral college. But isn't it possible for Johnson to take enough votes for Hillary to lose a states electoral votes to Trump. You are a lot more versed on this stuff then me, I admit I am not the most informed person on the earth and I would prefer to keep it that way but I was reading that Johnson might have enough to get on the ballot in all 50 states, Plus the polls for what they are worth are showing this race awfully close. Do you think Johnson could change the outcome of the election? I am sort of like 2 of the 3 monkey Hear no evil See no Evil.

A lot of people here and in the media have said that they support Kaepernick's motivation but that they think he could find a better way to express his thinking. The problem is that people don't offer suggestions about what that better way might be. Got any suggestions? The way I see it, he's using the best available avenue given his situation. Other athletes have now decided to do the same as what he's been doing, so the idea is actually catching on. As far as revenue generation, sales of the Kaepernick jersey have really been raking in the dough for the NFL ever since he started kneeling instead of standing for the Star Spangled Banner.

Yes, Legs, you are correct. The current polls indicate that Johnson will pull more votes from the Democratic candidate than the Republican candidate, and could therefore tip a close vote in favor of the Republican. Now, if Johnson gets high enough in the polls to be included in the Presidential debates, that will likely make his influence on the final outcome even greater. The debate committee's rules say that a 3rd party candidate must reach an average of 15% in the polls to be included in the debates, and the indications are that Johnson has a chance of reaching the 15% minimum.

Aww @Kenna I'm sorry you had such a bad day. Are you feeling better today. This Steroid thing if I remember right which would be amazing is for RA correct? How often do you have to go through this? It sounds like you really had a bad day. I really hope today is better. I sort of know what you were feeling, when I went in for open heart surgery I was freaking out, they had to have some arterial blood. They already had the IV in then the nurse went through my artery and spent 15min getting it to stop bleeding luckily the anasthesia guy came in and gave me something in my IV, I had a terrible headache but I don't remember the second stick for the arterial blood. The next thing I woke up in the recovery room feeling like I had been hit by a mack truck. I am amazed they let you do this without a driver there.

@Kenna on a different subject I ordered the Orings for my K5 today. The main ones that seem to be problematic, the 3 on the head I ordered 20 of the 10X1 and 10 of the 11X1 and 10 of the 12X1 which if I remember right, also a miracle he used in place of the 11X1. That one is almost impossible to get off without cutting it. I ended up breaking it to get it off. I got 10 of all the others except the drip tip ones got 20 cost me a whole $12 shipped. I also ordered the Trial Kit from Liquid Barn 10-15ml bottles. Some really interesting flavors. While not as strong as the Russian stuff still only between 5-8%. Going to give them a try plus I got a 20% discount using the code Steve gave me Vapeladies. $30 shipped but they hit you for $9.65 for Priority mail so it brought that down to $5.
