I am very glad @Flowersoul 's home is OK. Seeing some of the flooding in places is scary. We flooded once in So FL, but only (?) about 12 inches flowing through. These floods to the roof top, just WOW.
I had a wonderful birthday and my sister joined us for dinner. Best birthday present I could as for, a big hug from her.
Thank you so much for posting this! What is considered profound shock? A few weeks ago, Frankie started just trembling and acting weird. The dog that will only just now (after being with him daily for a year) allow me to hold him close for just a few minutes, let me hold him tight for 1.5 hrs til my back just couldn't take it anymore then laid on my chest with my arms holding him for another 2.5 hrs. He didn't act sick........he just acted freaked out over something. He trembled for several more hours after that. I called my son, but he didn't get there for a few hours, and when he did, he was doing much better, but started trembling again when I got up to go to the bathroom. It didn't last long though.
That little boy dog got scared by something! Was someone sneaking around outside? Had he barked or anything?
Great opening line!!! The rest was good too. sorta pointing out all parts of it, but that's to be expected. One thing that I hadn't thought of before, caught my eye. Where someone had said that they couldn't let vaping take off and become glamorous like smoking had, then 5 years later if it proved to be harmfultry to stuff the genie back in the bottle. Hadn't thought of it from this aspect. I don't like it of course, but makes me wonder if stars who vape do us more harm than good in the views of some. Thinking back to how glamorous hollywood made smoking out to be.
I think anyone who bases decisions, or opinions on that of a "celebrity" has a screw loose. It amazes me how much credence some people give them. Just amazing.

lol I've always said it a bit differently. Only two tools a woman needs are duct tape and a hammer. If it moves and shouldn't, duct tape it. If it don't move and should.......beat it with a hammer til it does!! [emoji38] 3rd optional tool is a screwdriver........for pryin things open only.

72 now but mine lies a lot too. It does feel much colder. and I couldn't quote it since you put it inside my quote, but I totally agree about folks being stupid that put a lot of stock in celebrities. Back in the day I can understand a poor housewife who's life was all work......and nothing fancy wanting to be a bit glamorous like a star, and smoking was something she could do to try to achieve a piece of it. But nowadays, I wouldn't wanna be anything like 95% of em!

Anyway,
Power was resumed about 5ish yesterday! Having electricity is one of those things we take for granted....not any more!
We went out to dinner with neighbors and when we returned, voila......so so so relieved!
We're all pretty exhausted and still have a lot of cleanup to do, but there was no damage to the house and our 4 giant live oaks are still miraculously standing tall although a bit thinner. Hurricane windows are dirty but not even a scratch. We have one screen missing from our lanai, but that's it....we are so amazingly blessed!
We were hit here with a Cat3 at low tide which was our saving grace......had it been high tide.....well.......
Feeling mighty grateful that we had a safe home with son in St. Augustine! Downtown St. Augustine is a nightmare!
Texted with Matt and he and Doree should be in Daytona sometime today!
Won't be on much cause we're still pretty busy with cleanup and helping others so will be back when I can.

Gotta start drinkin more of it or less of it not sure which. The furnace guy is here, we always get the same one every year, really nice guy and says our funace which is 23 years old is looking good so far doing a CO2 test on it now takes it all apart every year and cleans the burner checks the chimney for leaks. He said he did one yesterday and the old ladies chimney had a big split in it and it was lucky it didn't kill her. Guess we don't need a new one yet.
Damn Bells ever since you mentioned you had a 70" TV I've been trying to figure out where we could fit it in our living room. Then if we got Ultra HD we'd need a Roku 4 and higher internet speed with an 802.11ac modem. This could get expensive but for as much time as we watch TV it would be worth it.

Dave, I sincerely appreciate that! You probably have lil' idea how much I respect your porch contributions/presence, even if I generally disagree with the political aspect. So be it...
Nevertheless, hopefully we all are here to support each other for our betterment; not personal political challenges.
