Damn. That's terrible. I'm definately not a fan of pit bulls. Yeh, yeh, I know, it's not the dog, it's the owner. I ciyld possobly agree but you don't read about poodles and jack russels attacking folks but, i hear about a pit bull attacking for no reason at all about once a week. I will keep her im my prayers.
My daughter's dad had already told them my son plays rough with his dog a lot. My son feels the dog can do no wrong and he admits the baby didn't provoked the dog, she's barely walking and passed by the area where my son was seated at the computer with the dog curled up around his feet. She toddled forward and fell near the dog and I suppose the dog saw that as a sign of aggression against it's master and snapped. It could have been a lot worse. The dogs have killed rather than maimed. So senseless. My daughter is such a helicopter parent anyways, it really surprised me that she left the child in the room with the dog and was in the next room packing to come home. We never understand why things happen, but it's all a part of God's plan. Mama is stronger than she knows and has had much self-doubt lately about lots of things. It's true they can perform miracles with reconstructive surgery these days. She's alive. Keep praying. Much appreciated.

Prayers needed. I'm just beside myself. Our beautiful little granddaughter who just turned one year old was mauled by son's pit bull dog in GA while my daughter was visiting to attend her Oma's funeral. She can't open her eye and part of her cheek is hanging off. I'm hoping her vision isn't impaired and she can get through this without complications. She's in route to the ER with her now. Mama was hysterical, but she's calm now.
Oh dear, so sorry to hear this. Prayers and well wishes on the way.

I don't remember ANY mods blowing up before sub-ohming came into being. And I STILL don't get running over say 20w or so.
    Color me... content.
I do remember a couple of ego batterys blowing on the charger. Usually because of the wrong charger.

Mama sent pictures. It's breaking my heart. I don't know how to get them off my phone and don't think it would be appropriate to post them. I can see she has her eye open now and has control of her tongue, so those are good things as far as any neuro damage. Gosh. It's so much to take in. I know I can't do anything more to help but stay here and keep up with the other two and support daddy. Mama's thirty-fifth birthday is tomorrow and Jalina's first ballet dance recital is tomorrow evening. I'll be doing the grandmother thing to help daddy hold down the fort. @Uncle Willie Thanks for the prayer wheel. We've talked about spiritual matters before and it's all good. Keeping the faith.

Oh Susan, I am so sorry to read this about your grandbaby! That is so hard to digest that I can't even imagine the feelings you're going through right now. Prayers for her full and complete recovery along with strength for Mama.

For the situation at hand, Mama agreed to the tetanus shot and the IM prophylactic antibiotics. She's going straight to the OR upon arrival to Atlanta. I'm feelin' a bit better. I sincerely appreciate everyone's prayers and well wishes.
    good to hear!

Oh my dear Susan, I earnestly pray that all will be well! Can't imagine the angst you and yours are enduring!! Cyber, spiritual and heartfelt hugs out to ya'll!!!

And yes, there is so much more that be medically accomplished today as opposed to yesteryear.

As to the GD's future fear, it's now there. I'll reserve my comments on certain pets/owners and their 'saintliness'...

<sigh> Hellava post to come home to... <deep sigh>

This is from my speech therapist hubby.

Getting her into surgery quick is a good thing for long term recovery. Kids that age have a lot of plasticity and can adapt/recover better than an adult would.

From both of us: Keeping up the prayers and got a whole other church sending em your way too. We got the teacher network going on it. ;)

My son wants to put the dog down for what happened to his niece. He's pretty adamant. The sheriff came out and checked all the paperwork about the shots being up to date and everything was fine. They took the dog for a ten day observation. They live on a farm way out in the country, and the dog was an adult when he took it in. He's terrified to take the dog back. Don't know if the dog will be euthanized or go to Pit bull rescue program. That's up to the sheriff. Daniel says he will shoot it if they bring it back. Mama and baby are in route to Eggleston Children's Hospital and I know it's one of the best in the nation.
